This getaway has the luxuries of home. Perfectly secluded, on the banks of a river in the heart of the Hood Canal. You'll enjoy a well-stocked kitchen, blankets & pillows galore, games & puzzles. Fiber internet keeps you connected, and a Generac standby generator keeps you on, even when the power is out in the area. Even bidets and a hot tub, it's all here!
Room for everyone with 5 comfy beds and 2 full baths. Huge lawn on the river for your own paradise. NO BIG PARTIES. This is a quiet neighborhood.
This is actually our beloved family "cabin," which is why it feels so homey. We love to gather with our friends and family, cook great meals, hunker down to watch movies or play games. As such, it has everything you need to be comfortable, and then some.
Our home is a great homebase for any Hood Canal or Olympic National Park adventure. It's all an easy drive away. Surrounded by trees with private access to the river, we always feel totally "away from it all" here.
There's a small studio at the front of our property that we sometimes stay in when guests are in the main house. It's not often, and we'll let you know if we plan to be there. The carport is there for you to use, but the garage is off limits (and not easily accessible from the house anyway.)
The river property is just for you, (and us if we happen to be in town.) It's not public, so that huge lawn and private beach are there for you! We most likely won't be around, but we have plenty of friends in the neighborhood if there's an actual emergency.
You definitely need a car to get here, and get around here. We have ample parking, but in order to take advantage of all the outdoor activities around here, you need a car.

We had a lovely thanksgiving at the cabin, and there was everything we needed! There are 5 of us, and the space didn't feel cramped at all - hooks everywhere! Lovely neighborhood for walking the dogs and cozy inside. Lots of board games, too! We played qwirkle, Azul and scrabble! Hot tub was clean and perfect working order, which was such a lovely way to relax! Thank you so much!!
We needed a short getaway from the city and to hear rushing water to calm our lives. This place fit the bill. Happy hour and charcuterie on the river bank followed by a quick dip. It was just lovely. House has a cabin feel. Fully stocked with every kind of utensil imaginable. Hosts were super responsive to questions. It was exactly what we needed to recharge. Just lovely. Thank you!
This was the most completely furnished and equipped property I've ever rented. The owner thought of everything from every possible kitchen utensil needed to a puzzle board with a fun puzzle already in process! Communication with the owner was easy and prompt and not overwhelming. Our group was four adults in the summer but I see how appropriate this property would be for a larger family in the winter time as well. Very well done!

This is what vacation rentals by owners are meant to be. An owner that obviously cares very much for their home and wants to share it with visitors. There is nothing more we could have asked for in this stay. Alyssa’s home was the setting for an unforgettable weekend reconnecting with family and loved ones.
This place was PERFECT for our young family (kids age 4 and 1). The house was cozy and kid friendly with everything you could need and more. They have a small bed and highchair as well so minimal lugging around of extra stuff. We spent our entire days playing in the river across just across the street and relaxed on the deck/yard in the evenings. The location is perfect as well and the “house binder” had great recs. We did Finn River (also recommend HJ carroll park next to finn river), the waterfall hike, and kayaked (would recommend bringing if you have them!!) with the tide. The kayak ride was mellow enough to even bring our 1 year old. We have stayed in multiple places and this was one of the only ones that felt like a home away from home being only about 2.5 hours from seattle which is about my kids capacity. 20/10 recommend. Clean, solid wifi, and quiet. Checkin and communication was super easy too.
We took our kids who have just graduated high school to spend some quality family time. They brought a friend. Playing in the river enjoying movies, and games and crafts was amazing. The space was very special for so many reasons. Best of all, we got to bring our dogs so our family would be complete! The house had EVERYTHING you could possibly need for humans and dogs. Thank you!!

The property photos do not match property. Outside of property showed lack of maintenance. She said her cleaner had just spent 2 hours there cleaning. Inside the property was dirty. Garbage cans not emptied. Vaccum full of dirt and hair and left in the middle of room. Looks like someone had just picked up and left the place used. The level of cleanliness does not match the pictures. Covered furnature with dirty dog covers, that we were expected to sit on. See pics. Outlet fell out of the wall when we turned on light. She immediatly accused us of damaging the property. We ended up leaving after one hour, forfitted 3 days of rent and Alyssa kept our cleaning fee . She said she needed to bring in someone to make sure we didnt do anything else to the property. Or maybe she could use it to clean. She tried to void our stay with a dog fee that doesnt exist anywhere on her site. Nasty looking hot tub area. I expect more for my money. I expect clean for my money.
We had a great stay at Alyssa’s place. The house was clean with a very well stocked kitchen full of all of the appliances, spices and cooking oils. The hot tub sits behind the house and the river view is in front on the other side of the road. The grassy area appears to be a a private space that goes with the house and is a nice place to sit and watch the river. There are lots of toys for dogs and tons of games to play. The pellet stove works well. We would definitely stay here again.

As longtime residents of Seattle, we've always loved escaping to the beautiful Hood Canal. So we bought this cozy house in order to have a great family escape for generations to come. We love it here so much that it seemed wrong not to share it when we're not there.
Why they chose this property
The Hood Canal is one of the most beautiful places we've ever been, and offers up tons of both relaxation and adventure. Our house is close to the entrance of the Olympic National Park. Although, with tons of trees and riverfront, there's no "need" to leave the house, we are close to truly epic hiking and kayaking and cross-country skiing..... so it is irresistible!
What makes this property unique
This isn't a sterile rental that did the minimum necessary to be "good enough to rent." This is a beloved family cabin. So, although we've kept personal clutter and knick-knacks out, it is filled with every luxury and comfort that we like. It's our favorite getaway, and we're sure it will be yours too.
Our current favorite new amenity is the Generac standby generator. If you've been to the Hood Canal, you know the power goes out frequently, and now that's not something to worry about.
