Located just down the road from Apple Valley's Golf Course, Kenyon College, Kokosing hiking trails, canoeing & hiking in Mohican State Park, and Amish Country. Only 58 miles from Columbus!

Enjoy a relaxing getaway to our Granny Smith Cottage at Apple Valley Lake in Howard, Ohio, less than 2 hours from Cleveland, 45 minutes from Mansfield, or 1 hour from Columbus. Apple Valley Golf Course is minutes away and is one of the most well manicured public courses you'll find in Ohio.

This lovely, quiet neighborhood is situated in the heart of the private Apple Valley Lake community. Please note this lake and AV facilities are for owners only, but the Apple Valley Golf Club is available and open to the general public.

Woodland wonder

We really had a great girls weekend at the Granny Smith Cottage. Everything is aesthetically pleasing and high-end. Bryan was a wonderful host, very quick response with any questions we had including recommendations for places to eat in the area. It was a treat to find a pie for us upon arrival. Beautifully decorated and nice area to walk around the lake as well. Definitely recommend this wonderful spot!

Penthouse on the Lake

Don't be misled by the listing "Granny Smith's Cottage..." This place has a penthouse feel inside and a lake community vibe outside, within walking distance to Sutton Beach in Apple Valley. The inside has been completely remodeled, and the owners did not skimp on one thing... A smart fridge, digital thermostat, high-end soaps, appliances, and furniture designed to a tee. The “modern kitsch” decor had us torn between enjoying the inside or appreciating the outside! Hosts were very communicative and friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. Looking forward to visiting again!

The perfect escape

We rented Granny Smith Cottage for Kenyon Graduation weekend – lucky for us it had just come online and we were the first guests. Everything is just as pictured and described, plus so much more. Check in was easy using an app that Bryan linked us with that morning. He also sent a detailed list of everything we’d find inside the cottage so we knew exactly what we would need to bring (not much). The décor and finishes are high end and so many details --- a record player, puzzles and board games, plush towels, comfy beds, facial masks, candles. The kitchen was stocked with all the appliances and utensils you could need, along with a selection of coffee and tea, and cream and sugar. There is an air mattress in case the two queen size beds are not enough. I always appreciate leather furniture in a rental (it just feels cleaner to me), so I appreciated the sofas in both living areas and the dining chairs! We were so busy with Kenyon activities that we didn't get to just hang out on the patio, but we did sit on the front deck with lake view for a bit before we checked out. It was hard to leave! Bryan was great about responding to questions. If this cottage is available, you should definitely book it!
