This house is one of the oldest houses on the island dating back to the late 1800’s. The house has been recently renovated to allow for an open plan sitting room/dining room. The house has outstanding views of Bantry bay and Bantry town.
Whiddy island is located 10 minutes away from Bantry town by ferry. Which is ran by Tim O Leary. The ferry runs at various times throughout the day. The Bankhouse is located near the pier, where there is a bar and restaurant. The Bankhouse holds various events and family fun days throughout the year. There is quiz nights and matches streamed in a marquee located next to the pub. The restaurant caters for various dietary requirements. Whiddy island contains various walkways including The Sheep’s Head Walkway. Whiddy island was a World War I airforce base.
