About this property
The Far-Rest Fox A-Frame Off Grid Glamp High in the Trees of Mystical Forest
The A-frame/treehouse is tucked deep in a dense forest and part of a tiny village of unique off-grid glamping structures. This is one of 5 cabins on our small organic farm. It's simple, sleek design and earth tone colors allows it to blend in with the surrounding nature.
Our location is extremely rural at 1700 feet above sea level with mountain views and only accessible by a single dirt road. We are 2.5 hours from NYC and perfect for couples looking for a fun and romantic get-a-way.
The Space:
The A-frame has natural plank board interior walls, queen sized mattress with full bedding, 2 sitting chairs, washing sink and a fabulous elevated deck that is perched more than 16 feet high and supported by a majestic oak gives it not just the feel of an A-frame but also a tree house.
Note: We offer basic amenities, such as full bedding/pillows, sink washing water, thermos of boiled water, instant tea/coffee, a vanity with small glamping style sink with water for washing hands/face, and brand new porta-potty.
The site contains an outdoor cooking area under a roof under the deck. There you will find a Coleman mini propane cooking stove.
You also must be comfortable walking 130 feet through a dense forest on slightly uneven ground and on a decline to reach the A-frame. We strongly suggest arriving for the check-in BEFORE it gets dark. And this also means the porta-potty is also 130 feet from the cabin.
Speaking of dark, if you're here during a clear night, you will be dazzled by our star gazing and wonder in awe at how clearly you can see the Milky Way from our field.
Walk our secluded dirt road and visit the animals at the nearby farm (Lamas, sheep, goats, donkeys, ducks, chickens). Other nearby attractions is the Kaaterskill Waterfall, Zoom Flume water park, Howe Caverns (underground caves) and Greenville Drive-In-Theater.
FAQ
1. Is there electricity in the A-frame?
No, but we provide a power bank to charge your devices.
2. Is there hot water? No, not exactly. The sink water tap available from a 2.5 gallon jug for brushing teeth and washing hands is just cold water. And we provide a large thermos with hot boiled water already made. You can boil water on the propane stove.
3. Do we have privacy? Yes, no one can see into your accommodation and other campsites are more than 150 feet from yours.
4. Do we need to bring our own drinking water? Yes, we only provide you with 2.5 gallons of non-drinkable water for washing at the sink.
5. Do we need to bring our own blankets, pillows? No, we provide all fresh bedding material and a fresh set of bath towels. However, we do encourage you to bring an extra blanket from home.
6. Is there a bathroom? Yes, there is a new clean brand new porta-potty approximately 150 feet from the A-frame.
7. Is there Wi-fi? No, but there is cell service.
8. Are pets allowed? No, sorry.
9. Are kids allowed? All persons must be 21 years or older. However adults can bring their children if they are at least 10 years and older.
10. Do you provide a way to cook? Yes. We provide a mini propane camping stove.
11. Do you provide plates, utensils, napkins, coffee mugs? Yes
12. Do you provide coffee and tea? Yes we provide instant versions of both.
13. Is there heat? No, but the cabin is well insulated.
14. Can we take a shower? Yes, we provide a place under the deck to take an outdoor shower using a camping shower bag. It is a 3 gallon bag you will fill with water (we provide hot water for this). Please see photos of this in the listing so you are sure what we mean by "Outdoor camping shower".
Guest access
The entire space is for your use only. Not shared with any other guests.
Other things to note
It is VERY IMPORTANT to arrive for the check in before sun down. There is a 130 foot forest path that has to be navigated. The terrain is down hill and slightly uneven.
Guests must take all trash home with them. We are a carry-in / carry-out glamp ground and do not have a way to dispose of guests trash.
Our glamp site is not suitable If you have any type of mobility issue.
