About the host
Hosted by Irene Sarri
The Tannery house is a Historical Greek Revival Home where the charm of old days meets the comfort and luxury of modern times. Tannery House was a love at first sight for the current owners which feel just blessed to continue spoiling this one of a kind home.
Guests are immediately introduced to the endless beauty of the house from wide plank floor, fully exposed joists, high ceilings, vintage wallpaper and a mind blowing color palette. Two acres of manicured lawn, flower beds with perennials and open views to the woods make it a a true paradise.

Why they chose this property
Winter at The Tannery House is nothing short of magical.
Nestled in the scenic hamlet of Claryville, where the Neversink River begins its long, winding journey, The Tannery House offers a peaceful winter retreat surrounded by snow-covered forests and crisp mountain air.
For ski lovers, Belleayre Mountain Ski Center is just a 30-minute drive, offering excellent downhill skiing, snowboarding, and winter mountain views. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers will appreciate the area’s access to the 3500 Trail Club, with marked trails leading to iconic peaks such as Slide Mountain and the Red Hill Fire Tower, transformed into serene winter landscapes.
The Neversink River, flowing just 500 feet from the house, remains a striking presence even in winter—quiet, frozen in parts, and endlessly beautiful. On milder days, enjoy peaceful riverside walks or explore nearby access points that remain open year-round.
Only 10 minutes away, Frost Valley YMCA offers winter programs, nature exploration, and outdoor experiences within its expansive forest preserve, making it a wonderful destination for families and nature enthusiasts.
Local charm remains alive even in winter. Along Claryville Road, neighbors often sell fresh farm eggs, and nearby Galli Farm provides a delightful stop where children can meet goats, lambs, chickens, and rabbits—even during the colder months.
Your winter getaway can include skiing, snowshoeing, winter hiking, cozy evenings by the fire, scenic drives, and visits to nearby villages. For those who enjoy antiquing, the Sullivan County Antiques Trail offers year-round treasure hunting just a short drive away.
The Tannery House is the perfect winter escape—quiet, authentic, and deeply connected to nature.
