The area is the most beautiful in Michigan. Downtown Harbor Springs is amazing. We enjoyed the nature surrounding the home a s each morning the same deer in the front yard. Playing cards each night at the round table will forever be in our memories.
Driveway was not shoveled, there was no firewood nor lighter. The furnace was broken upon arrival. Dan did call and have someone come to the house, but they couldn’t fix it and just brought in space heaters (house was stuck around 55-60F).
The location was good and the house has beautiful bones, however it needs some elbow grease and some touch ups. Cannot beat the value for the stay!
The house is in a beautiful location, wooded and quiet. The house is in desperate need of repairs and renovations. It was surface clean however the carpet is filthy and so many things are falling apart. The blinds need replacement, one bedroom we had to put a sheet over the window as so many slats were missing and the blinds in the rest of the house are dirty. The worst part is the mold. We all had headaches, sinus issues and coughing during our stay. The 2 bedrooms above the garage were the worst, we had people sleeping on the sofa because the mold was affecting them. The upstairs shower tiles are falling apart and there is mold there also. Every time we opened or closed the garage the kitchen and stairwell lights would go out and we would have to reset the breakers. We saw sparks coming from the wiring for the garage door opener so there are definitely electrical issues there along with the upstairs bathroom. The house is very unique and could be beautiful with a complete renovation and mold remediation.
Round House was very well stocked and spacious in the quiet Birchwood Farms neighborhood. Beds were very comfortable and all appliances worked well. The water heater stopped working while we were there and the property owner was very responsive, immediately installing a new water heater. The house and furnishings are dated but we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful location, house has issues
Needs some updating…holes I. Walls, recreation room in useable due to mold. The beds were fine and sheets/towels clean but overall not maintained. A great price so we weren’t expecting the ritz but with a little bit of work could be a much better stat
We had a nice stay in this unique home in the woods. The location was great to be near other family in Birchwood. We had everything we needed in the home and it was comfortable for us and our adult children.
It was adequate for 2 nights. Nice neighborhood and quiet. Check in was not quite accurate. A little on the older side and needs a few little repairs. Rooms were spacious.
We called Vrbo and told them we could not stay at this property!! I was on the phone with customer service and we got disconnected a couple of times and they never got back with me.
It smelled so musty and mildewy in there and there were dead bees everywhere!! Stains on all the carpet and furniture. No lighting throughout the house. Terrible smell coming from the kitchen sink!! I want a refund!!!

Looks like we could have been the first there in a while.
Most people work say the property needs to be updated but that was the charm. We all loved the sunk in livingroom. The bedrooms were great but the furniture was old. That could have been up dated. You can see the place needed up keep. But the vibe was great. Would rent again. Good luck and thanks for the fun.😊
Hands down the best value we have ever gotten out of a VRBO. We have been renting every year in this area for a long time and this is by far the best value to date. I was reluctant because of the past reviews about needing updating, while the house does need some updating it doesn’t lack any amenities and was very clean. The owner made check in and check out as easy as we have ever had it and you can’t beat the view or scenery at the property.
The house has an interesting and effective design. The kitchen is very well stocked with utensils and materials. The house has seen better days and is need of renewal. We are sure that the owner is well-aware and we won't belabor the point.
Had a great time with our second visit to the round house. Cleanliness is a but to be desired, but still an amazing unique visit.

Different than the photos
While the property was decently clean — bathrooms and bedding was clean — the property is in desperate need of a deep clean! You have to walk through the garage to enter the property and it is dirty and smells very musty. It rained while we were there and a piece of the ceiling tile fell in. The furniture feels tacky and the carpet is super stained. We didn’t go out on the deck because it needed a good pressure washing and all the furniture was dirty. The back doors in the pictures are blue but they are actually covered in something and are black. The bedding is completely different than in the photos as well. The owner had someone coming to check the mold at 9am on our first day of vacation! And someone coming again on Friday to fix the wash machine! And oh if you use it gross stuff comes up in both the downstairs bathrooms’ tub and shower. I was there to relax not be interrupted by appointments. The dishwasher was broken as well. To sum it up — it was clean enough that we stayed but we wouldn’t stay again without knowing it had been deep cleaned. No AC either.

Wedding
Nice place to stay, could use some updating, sprucing up. Really enjoyed our time there.
Beautiful location and unique home. There were 7 adults and having separate bathrooms helped us get moving faster in the mornings when we did sight seeing. The home could use a little deep cleaning in the kitchen and with carpets, and the outdoors could use a power washing but overall a good value.

Peggy,
I am glad that you had a nice stay at our Round House. Thanks for the nice review..
I am aware of those shortcomings. I will get them take care of. Thanks again.

The area was great lots to do and picturesque the house in in a beautiful neighborhood and it’s style is amazing and cool. It needs updating furniture needs to be replaced sit down and you sink in couches and chairs. Kitchen is older but good cleaning was not the best beds were good but bathrooms needed to be cleaned better deck not swept and chairs not clean grill was not cleaned. Supplies were well stocked. We could use the garage but we had to clean out and installation coming down in garage where doors opened. Had a game room we discovered on way out but had not been swept around doors(dried bugs). Just some better cleaning and updating would be nice. I sent a letter to owner thanking him for letting us stay and we did have a great time.
I love the uniqueness of this house! We had an amazing time together with friends. The house was fully stocked with anything we could've needed. The only note we had was that there was a small bit of a safety concern with the door that didn't have a lock, but the rural location still made for a relaxing and comforting time away together.
We enjoyed our holiday stay at the round house! Plenty of beds for everyone. The second bedroom has two twin bunk beds, not the twin beds pictured, which was fine for our group. Beds were comfy for the most part, the bed in the bedroom with the bathroom was quite firm. We enjoyed hanging out in the circular fire pit area. Owner was great to work with and very accommodating!
The place was very clean and great location. The kitchen is fully stocked which was very nice for our stay. No complaints with this property and the owner was very easy to communicate with.
Although some updating is needed, the house was clean and had everything you could need for your stay. Beautiful location right at the tunnel of trees, perfect for our color tour and only a short drive to Petosky.
