I’m a local host who stays behind the scenes so guests can fully enjoy their stay, while remaining nearby if anything comes up. I'm always happy to share restaurant recommendations or local tips to help make your visit to Harbor Springs even better.

Why they chose this property

We chose this neighborhood for its deep roots in Harbor Springs' ski history and its unbeatable proximity to the slopes. The Lamplighter has long been part of the local ski culture dating back to the 1960's and 70's, when Dean Shorter and generations of skiers helped shaped the area into the destination it is today. My own grandfather skied here and spent time at this very property during those early years, which makes hosting guests especially meaningful to us. Today, the location still offers that same easy access to Nubs Nob and The Highlands, paired with a quiet, tucked- away setting that's perfect for relaxing after a day on the hill.

What makes this property unique

What makes this property special is its connection to Harbor Springs' ski heritage combined with a comfortable, welcoming layout designed for today's travelers. The Lamplighter has been a gathering place for skiers for decades, and that sense of warmth and tradition still carries through. The open living space is ideal for unwinding after a day outdoors, whether you're here to ski, explore the area, or simply enjoy Northern Michigan at a slower place. Its close proximity to the hills allows guest to spend more time enjoying their stay and less time driving.
