Cute house with a gas fireplace less than 10 mins to Ski Butternut. Great for a quick skiing/snowboarding stay. I'm sure it would also be lovely in the summer months with the lake access. Host was quick to reply and helpful in getting us set up after a previous host cancelled on us last minute. The home is much closer to other homes than it appears to be in photos but the neighbors were all friendly. If you are booking with pets be sure to thoroughly read description and ask additional questions of host before pulling the trigger as we found some rules unorthodox but otherwise a great stay.

Thank you so much for your feedback and for staying with us!
This cottage was so cozy! So close to Great Barrington too. Loved being in the woods and hearing the trees. The place was clean and the owner answered questions quickly. We will definitely be back!
The cabin was well stocked and cared for. We loved relaxing in front of the fireplace and walking through the wooded neighborhood. Close enough to Great Barrington to make visit it not a chore and far enough to get away from everything! We will be coming back in the future.
Smooth check-in and wonderful house in quiet location. The only thing I would add is some more draws in the bedrooms. Highly recommend for a nice getaway.
Lovely cottage. Great for 2 couples. Lots of privacy for each but comfy gathering spots for dining and relaxing. Host was very responsive to questions. Great stay!
We had a wonderfully cozy stay at Pine View! Perfect spot to relax and play board games with friends for the long weekend. The house was very clean and the kitchen reasonably well-equipped to prepare the few meals that we didn't venture out for. Ayren was quick to respond whenever we reached out with a question. We enjoyed our time at Pine View Cottage.
Stayed with family for a wedding nearby and had a great experience. Nice house, clean and comfortable and as advertised. Very comfortable bed. Remote location so it’s quiet and peaceful, and short walk to lake. Host was very helpful and quick to respond. Would stay again!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, we loved having you!!
The cottage was adorable and spotless. Minutes to Great Barrington and Butternut and close to other Berkshire ski resorts. My family of 5 was so cozy and had plenty of space. The basement bedroom does get cold, especially the floor so bring your slippers!

Alison - thank you so much for staying with us! I'm so sorry your feet were chilly! I wish I had known bc I would have told you we have radiant heat in the basement floors that you can control from the panel in the bedroom (also disclosed in our house guide).
We had a lovely two weeks at the Pfeifer cottage. Everything was as promised. The location was quiet, but easy access to Great Barrington and Tanglewood. Two of our grandkids visited and they were in love with the spiral staircase! We way come back again someday.

Thank you so much for staying with us, Robert! We looking forward to hosting you again soon.
We enjoyed the property a lot. It is in a beautiful setting and we enjoyed walks through the neighborhood. Directions were excellent. Did not realize the winding staircase was the only one. A few things that were not in plain sight were a bathmat, instructions for the HVAC and TV. There is limited space for clothes (no closet in one of the bedrooms) but we managed. Overall, a lovely home with a warm, cozy vibe. Thank you!
This is a lovely cottage, nicely decorated, great comfy furniture, nice deck, nice enclosed porch, well appointed kitchen, everything we needed, kitchen table for gathering, living room is super cozy with a beautiful gas fireplace that is easy to operate. 2 queen beds on first floor and king bed on lower floor were all super comfy (and I’m picky) and the linens were really nice and comfy, rarely do I ever say I had a good night’s sleep at a rental but this was one of those times for sure! King primary suite on lower floor was a nice surprise, very well appointed. Excellent host. Easy code access. Will be back in the future for sure. Highly recommended! Thanks Ayren!

Cottage was fine, hosts not great
The cottage was fine- it's about as good as you'll find in this area. Rating down on cleanliness since there were ants in the house when we arrived and pet hair on the furniture. The location is nice, close to lake.
However, communication with the hosts was not great.
1) Check in was at 4 PM. We arrived at 4:30 PM, and the code they gave us to the house didn't work. I called the host and there was no answer. They did call us back and gave us a different code to get into the house.
2) We admittedly only listed 2 adults on the reservation and forgot to add our 2 kids to the reservation. However, we let the host know early in our stay that we had our kids with us, and they didn't raise any issues at that time. The listing allows up to 6 people (we only had 4), and kids are allowed, so we didn't think it was a problem. However at the end of the stay, they sent us a bill for 3x (yes, three times!) the original cleaning fee that we had already paid when we booked the cottage, saying that it was because we didn't add our kids to the reservation. The cleaning fee doesn't appear to change based on the number of people you have on the reservation, so I'm unclear on this reasoning. They also complained that we hadn't stripped sheets off the 2 beds we used, or started a load of laundry before we left. These instructions were on page 5 of an attachment in an email they had sent us nearly 1 month prior. We hadn't received any reminders and there was no printed copy at the cottage.

We strive to keep excellent cleanliness standards and communication with all guests which is reflected in previous guest feedback. Whenever an issue arises we address it immediately but unfortunately the ants and pet hair were never disclosed. Guests always receive two access codes when checking in. If ever a guest has an issue opening the front door, they may walk around the back of the house and enter through the basement bedroom with the second code. Omitting the presence of any guests on the reservation is cause for major concern for any host. As explained, the purpose for the charge of $150 (as yet still unpaid) was for not disclosing the guest number and bc the condition our home was left in (chocolate syrup & handprints on the wall, dirty dishes in the sink, etc). The cleaning fee increases depending on the guest count. Our check out procedures are standard protocol only and clearly noted in the guide book which accompanies the access codes in the same email.
Great location close to Butternut. The house had everything we needed for a three night stay, and I received a quick response from the owner when I had a question. We would rent again!
