The cabin was cozy and beautiful, and the host was so attentive to every detail. We enjoyed our stay, and the complimentary pottery lesson was a cherry on top.
We spent 4 wonderful days at the Potter's Cabin. It is located at the top of a mountain about 20 minutes outside Asheville. We went into the city a few times but we much preferred the peace of the cabin. The hosts, Melanie and Doc, were wonderful. The cabin was wonderfully decorated and very comfortable. Included in the stay was a pottery lesson in Doc's pottery studio right next door. It was great fun and Doc is a patient teacher! We look forward to returning in the future!Thank you for our wonderful visit Melanie and Doc!
Wish we could have extended our stay! The cabin was everything we were looking for and more— quiet, peaceful, and full of thoughtful touches throughout like wine, light breakfast, gorgeous ceramic pieces, great little nooks for reading and writing.

Outstanding in every possible sense. The setting, the accommodation, the small details, the attentiveness of our host - an absolutely heavenly place to unwind and recharge. The free pottery session topped off a perfect couple of days. An absolute gem.
The Pottery cabin was a great place to stay. Loved the way it was decorated, it felt like a home away from home. The hosts were great. We loved the pottery lesson. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for more than just a place to stay.

Thank you for your comments.
( your pottery is drying….)
I loved loved loved staying at the pottery cabin for my weekend getaway! The pottery lesson was amazing ( plus we get to pick colors to have it glazed and then sent to us ) and the overall vibe was very homey. It was my first time planning a trip like this and im already thinking about my next time coming and staying at the Pottery. 10/10 experience.
We were totally impressed with everything about our stay. The cottage was beautiful and very cozy. The hosts were great. The cottage was set with anything one could want.
The pottery session was one of the highlights of our entire vacation. I can honestly say this was our favorite VRBO EVER!!!!
The pictures in the listing do not do justice to this beautiful place. Incredible amount of thoughtful touches that were really heartwarming and appreciated. Super clean, comfy bed, nice shower…a delicious homemade pastry, plus yogurt and fruits and waters, teas and coffee, all were waiting there for our first morning. It is very private. It is blissfully quiet. The pottery was wonderful, and Doc was so kind to work with during our one-hour lesson. Did not meet Melanie, but her warm and caring presence was felt throughout. Altogether a wonderful, restful stay in this cozy, beautiful cottage.
This cabin was perfect!! Melanie was so hospitable and went above and beyond to give us the perfect weekend away! She even made us breakfast, which was so thoughtful! The cabin was beautiful, as well as the entire property! Everything about our stay was wonderful and if you are thinking about staying here, do it! You will not be disappointed!!
Wow! This is a truly incredible stay. Melanie and Doc have made a beautiful home filled with so many personal touches. Spending time in the studio with Doc was such a treat. The cabin is private, thoughtfully stocked with everything you may need, and a convenient 25 minute drive to Asheville. I can’t wait to come back.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Potters Cabin! The hosts, Doc and Melanie made sure that every possibility necessity was at hand. We were greeted with a note, a bottle of wine and homemade baked goods! The cabin is charming and well equipped. It even has a small stable and two horses. We couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable and relaxing stay!
Fantastic accommodations, the amenities and the little extras that Doc and Melanie put out were over the top. We've stayed at a lot of places but never any place that we felt as welcomed as at the Pottery Cabin. The pottery lesson was a nice touch too. Talk peace and seclusion and comfort, it is all there. You owe to yourself to try this one, plus your only a short drive from most all attractions.

You all are too kind. It was a pleasure having you here at the cabin!
My wife and I had a wonderful time staying at the Pottery Cabin. Everything was very clean and the host went above and beyond for us. Also, the complimentary pottery class was a lot of fun. The location to downtown Asheville was great as it was only a quick 30 minute drive. The only thing that I would say to be aware of is the size of the driveway can make parking large trucks/SUVs a little challenging.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Pottery Cabin! There are sweet thoughtful touches throughout the cabin to make your stay more comfortable. We came to explore Asheville but our time at the cabin was the highlight of our trip. Melanie is so sweet and fun to talk to. Doc was patient and helpful during our pottery lesson. My brother-in-law left wanting to take up pottery as a hobby! Thanks Doc and Melanie for your hospitality!

Thank you for your kind words!
We did have fun in pottery didn’t we? And your pieces will arrive in a week or so.
It was nice to have you visit our little cabin
Thank you— Doc
This is the best experience I ever had staying in a vacation home. The hosts are amazingly talented, and that enhances the entire experience. They generously shared their local honey, food, and even a drink. The horse and mini horse are welcoming. The pottery on sight is fantastic!
I would advise the parking and driveway are tight. Don't plan on driving a sports car up there. This is a place we will choose to visit again.

It was a pleasure having James and his father here for a visit. I believe they enjoyed their stay here in the mountains . They took great care of the cabin and I believe it was as clean and tidy as it was when they arrived. They are welcome back anytime!
We loved everything about our stay at the Pottery Cabin. We felt so blessed to enjoy a colorful display of fall leaves and the peace of actually hearing them fall! We were welcomed by a bottle of wine local honey, a mug, and blueberry muffins. Fresh flowers on the table, handcrafted local soap, handmade pottery dishes, and a huge stock of firewood for the firepit were just a few of the special touches we enjoyed. Our pottery lesson with Doc was fantastic, we loved petting the horses, and Melanie gave us great ideas of local things to explore (goat farm, farmers market, Cider tap room, etc). Our beds were comfy and the cabin was well stocked (minimal cookware if you plan to eat in, but we got along). This is a beautiful remote location, the hosts are lovely and very respectful of your privacy. My 80 year old mother, my sister and, I all had a wonderful stay!
Note: The driveway is steep - our minivan could not make it to the top, which required a steep walk from car to cabin. If your vehicle isn't equipped for the mountain, bring a cart to haul your stuff - we were happy to have one!
