Escape to our cozy Lakeside Cabin-great sunset views-1 hour from Cities

Enjoy a cabin getaway available year round, only 1 hour north of the Twin Cities. Our 2-bedroom, 2-bath vacation rental cabin (sleeps 8-10) is nestled alongside Lake Pokegama in Pine City. It is west-facing and offers beautiful sunset views, an open floor plan including a 4-season porch, and lawn to enjoy bonfires and yard games. Snowmobile trails nearby and ice fishing is steps away. Dock your boat, rent one nearby or use the provided canoe and 2 paddle boards to explore the 1,500-acre lake with 2 restaurants, 2 launches, and access to the Snake River and Cross Lake.
The space
We have a master bedroom with a comfortable king size bed and smart TV. The “bunk room” has 2-kings and 4-twins to sleep up to 8. Two newly remodeled full bathrooms.
Guest access
Our guests have access to entire property except a couple locked areas inside the cabin and garage where we keep personal belongings. We don't rent our pontoon boat or jet ski, but have a few nearby rental options.
Other things to note
We have used a rental management company for 3 years, we had 4.9/5 star rating on VRBO. Now that we are managing ourselves we have to start over with reviews. I have included a few of our guests comments from our guest book in the photos.
Lake Pokegama is beautiful year round, but like many Minnesota lakes it can get green by August depending on rain, wind, etc. If swimming around the dock is important to you during your stay, we highly recommend booking in June or July. Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please start a load of towels in the washing machine. -Bring out all garbage and recycling to bins at the end of the driveway. -Remove all used bedding and place in a pile on the floor
-Take all perishable items with you from fridge -Pickup around the fire pit area -Lock the porch door(do not lock side door handle, only lock the keypad)
- Turn the AC to 75 or heat to 65. -Make sure windows are closed, close curtains/blinds
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

This cabin was perfect for us. It was a great get away for the holiday weekend. The cabin was very clean and we had everything we needed. The host was very responsive and even let us know about events happening on the lake. We will definitely stay here again.

Leah was so hospitable! She checked on us throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. The cabin is so cute and cozy! It is just like the pictures! It was clean and had everything we needed. Our teens enjoyed the paddleboards. We enjoyed swimming at Wayside Beach and catching sunnies off the dock by the beach.

Our summer vacation

The property was super. As a family and friends vacation. We were close to family. the kids enjoyed fishing, swimming. The fire pit was a great place to finish your days together. We really loved the fact that we were close to town but felt like we were in nature.

Perfect lake getaway

We stayed for a long weekend in early July. The cabin was so cute and fit our needs perfectly. The hosts have thought of everything to make your vacation perfect. The kids caught lots of fish and spent hours swimming from the floating dock. The neighbors were extremely friendly as well. This cozy cabin far exceeded our expectations for a girls' weekend getaway! It’s just a quick drive from the cities which is a huge plus. Throughout the entire process, the communication I had with the owner was impressive with very kind and quick responses. The cabin itself has everything you need! The kitchen is even fully stocked! One of the main reasons I booked this place was for its porch overlooking the lake. It was gorgeous! The sleeping arrangements were perfect for us. Everything is updated, clean and decorated so cute! I even took pictures of some things I liked :) We fully intend to be back here to visit in the future! Thank you so much for sharing your place with us!

My husband and I stayed here for a few days after the 4th of July with twin three year olds and an 8 year old. All had fun around the lake and on the paddle boards and canoe. We had one small issue with the refrigerator temperature. When I texted Leah about the issue, Seth came over quickly and installed a new refrigerator that day. We were so thankful for the quick response and attention! The location was a great middle area for day trips to Duluth and the Twin Cities.

Cozy Cabin Getaway only 1 hour from the Twin Cities

Leah & Seth have the perfect cabin for a family weekend up North. Everything was communicated very well prior to our stay. The cabin was so cozy & family friendly with all of the amenities needed and plenty of room. Things were labeled clearly & their cabin guide was helpful in our planning of things to do in Pine City. Although we didn't take advantage of the fire pit outside, it was fully stocked with firewood. We spent a day at the brewery in town, Pizza Pub for some arcade games & dinner at The Garage. All were great! We highly recommend this rental for family or small group weekend getaways. We hope to visit again! The Leach Family

Nice cabin on the water. Clean, good communication with hosts, and easy to get into town. Very close to the neighbors which was the only drawback, so not ideal with very little kids—seems like the neighbors might be particular about property lines.

Great Cabin

Great cabin that was well equipped with everything and comfortable beds! Very much an up north feel just an hour from the twin cities. We enjoyed swimming and floating off the dock. Shallow water with a sandy bottom. We rented a pontoon from the restaurant on the lake for most of the trip. Highly recommend to enjoy exploring the lake, fishing, and more swimming! Great fire pit as well that we enjoyed while watching the sunsets! Very responsive hosts. We will be back!

Wonderful weekend

We had a small college friend reunion and found the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. Everything was wonderful, from the spacious room, beds, fire pit area, kitchen and ease to get to the wineries and breweries we visited during our stay. It was truly beautiful place and beautiful outdoor area. Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area!

Hi I'm Leah! My husband Seth and I have 2 teenage boys. We bought our cabin in 2017 and have enjoyed many DIY projects fixing it up over the years. We decided to start sharing our cabin as a vacation rental in 2020 since our lives became very busy with youth sports. We really enjoy sharing this beautiful place with others!

Why they chose this property

The beautiful lake views of Pokegama of course! Our cabin is literally steps away from the shoreline and the west facing view provides gorgeous sunsets.

What makes this property unique

The close proximity to the Twin Cities is very convenient for our guests, but still providing the beautiful northern Minnesota experience.
