We had such a great time at this cabin! Kelli was such a great hostess and there were so many extra touches provided. The fireplace with provided wood, fresh flowers, waters, just to name a few. There were games and many nice places to sit and hang out, although we really enjoyed the living room with the large couch and tv. We also made use of the kitchen for a few meals. It’s well equipped for making your chili or whatever you desire. My friends and I loved our stay and are already talking about returning.
We stayed here to have our family together for our daughter’s wedding. The place was beautiful and clean. The host was available to answer any questions quickly. I would definitely stay again.
This cabin is the real deal: older but updated, furnished with attention to detail, a master to die for, suffused with sunlight overlooking the valley. Hosts are nearby and responsive. We loved our week spent there.
All the little touches, from fresh flowers to a Hot chocolate goodie basket made our stay cozy and magical. They even helped us get firewood delivered so we could have a fire every day of our trip. It was a wonderful home away from home and we are already planning our next stay.
Once we arrive the house was beautiful, clean, & cozy. The location is perfect and there’s so many activities that you need to go multiple times.
My family and I were happy with everything!
Hope to be back soon!
We absolutely loved our stay! We loved the cabin and it’s location. It’s was only a short drive to Helen or Dahlonega and all the wineries. The cabin is very private and the view for the master bedroom is amazing. Our host was amazing! Kelli had firewood ready, wine in the refrigerator and fresh flowers throughout the house.
We will 100% stay again!
Five girlfriends & I stayed for an extended weekend. The house is absolutely amazing! We felt at home instantly! The host, Kelli, is the sweetest & responds very quickly to questions. She even left us a bottle of wine.
The house is really close to local vineyards & about 30-ish minutes from Helen.
If we're ever in the area again, we'd definitely stay there again!
Phenomenal Cabin in the Heart of North Georgia Wine Country
This cabin was spectacular! We were two families moving our sons to college in nearby Dahlonega. The cabin was finely appointed and the owners were thoughtful in the details. It backs up to a National Forest and thus was completely private. The bedding was superior and very comfortable. The outdoor spaces invite time spent in nature. We will be returning when we go to visit our son!
VERY PLEASED! Will book again! Amazing host! Host always quick to respond.- Lovely and very comfortable house.- Extras like fresh flowers.- Ceiling fans in all rooms for added comfort, if needed. - Exactly as pictured and described. - Peaceful and restful Sisters' Weekend- Beautiful area. - Great kitchen with lots of cooking utensils and pans. - Plenty of supplies for a perfect stay. - Close enough to enjoy several of the small communities in the area or just stay in away from the business of life.- Enjoyed local restaurant with great food and service called Riverside Tavern at Turners Corner.Thank you Kelli!
I enjoyed my board game bachelor weekend at this cabin. The hosts made us feel like potted plants. Everything was squared away, and the check in/out procedures were more straightforward than I expected.

Hello! We are Kelli and Scott and we're so excited to be your hosts at Lee's Mountain House! We know you will have a wonderful stay in the North Georgia Mountains. Scott calls Mississippi home, and I am originally from Southwest Florida, but we have both lived in Georgia since the 90’s and love it!
We are travel enthusiasts ourselves, and appreciate the need to get away - whether across the country or just nearby for a change of scenery. So whether you are just exploring our beautiful area for the first time, or you’re practically a local, we hope you’ll think of Lee’s Mountain House as your “home away from home!”

77 MILES. 715 CURVES. ENDLESS VIEWS. Like the famed "Tail of The Dragon," bikers in these parts thrill to ride "The Dragons Eyes!" A motorcycle tourist road destination, this ride encircles two major mountains, and travels through three gaps that outline the Dragon's Eyes. Hairpin curves and sweeping vistas never disappoint, and Lee's Mountain House is right on the route!

What makes this property unique
Who is Lee?
Lee’s Mountain House was originally built by my daddy, Lee Schutt. It began as an A-frame cabin where I spent my summers growing up in the 70s and 80s, and yes - Kelli Lane was named for me! Through the years, my parents added several additions to make it their retirement home. After losing Daddy in 2020, Scott and I decided to keep the place and share it with others as a short-term rental.
We’ve refreshed and redone a lot, but Lee’s touches remain at the heart of it - in the original A-frame boards and beams that have become the master bedroom, in the stained glass panels he crafted, and even in his model trains that still encircle the living room. Lee loved this very special place, and we know you will feel at home here too!
