We enjoyed our stay. Spacious and clean house. Fully stocked with dishes, towels, spices, toiletries, life jackets and more. We enjoyed fishing off the pier and the paddle boards. Quick drive to the marina for lake and boating fun!!

Thank you for allowing us to host your stay! It was a pleasure having you we hope we have the opportunity to host you again!
Beautiful and quiet mountain lake view. The house is a bit far from the majority of stores in Moneta, but is a great stay for a peaceful getaway. Very close to Smith Mountain Lake State Park so great for hiking. Loved our stay.
This house was absolutely perfect for our group of two families, nine people. Plenty of space to spread out for activities. The dock access is so convenient, and the house was really well stocked with life vests and other equipment. The kitchen was also particularly well stocked. Lisa was uber responsive to our questions. We would happily stay here again!
Our family had a nice time staying at this home. The owners were very responsive and kind. My kids enjoyed fishing off the pier. It was close to the marina which was nice. Great spot for bird watchers!
My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The house has amazing outdoor living as well as indoor. Lisa was very responsive when needed, which was very helpful. The dock was a perfect place to store our boat. We would return to this property in the future!
Family vacation. We all had a wonderful time. The house is adorable. With plenty of room. My grandkids completely loved the air hockey table and the basketball game in the game room. Us adults enjoys the kayaks and stank up paddle boards. We even fished right off the dock. We enjoyed our week at this very nice house
This was my first trip to Smith Mountain Lake with my family and we were extremely pleased with our booking. The house was EXTREMELY clean and obviously updated recently with super comfortable furniture, and nice decor. The kitchen was nicely furnished with a large dining room table and ample seating… almost every room had a great view of the lake with lots of natural sunlight. The host is awesome and communication was above and beyond. Will definitely book this property again for our next visit.
Last minute booking. Lisa was very accommodating and made check in a breeze. Located a short paddle away from the Marina for those looking to rent a boat. Also Mitchell's has a restaurant.
Will return. Just wouldn't recommend for those with elders that have mobility issues if they wanted to go down to the dock!
However, we enjoyed the workout!
Great layout for group of 8-10. Plenty of space. House was very clean on arrival. Plenty of porches to enjoy the lake view. It was nice having a small kitchenette with a full refrigerator downstairs in addition to main level kitchen. Owner is quick to reply with any questions or concerns. I would recommend bringing additional bath towels and wash cloths. Plenty of beach towels and life jackets for kids to adult in master bed closet if needed. We enjoyed using the paddle boards early morning and evening in the cove. Mitchell’s Point across the lake was a nice ice cream run!
This was an amazing stay! Our host Lisa was extremely tentative. Location was perfect because you have direct access to the water with your personal dock. It is very close to the neighbors but we didn’t really see them to interact with them so it was like having it all to ourselves. Both master bedrooms have a gorgeous view and balcony’s to wake up to. The kitchen is extremely spacious and well supplied (with an extra fridge and microwave downstairs). I will say this is for those that want seclusion away from the city and night life. There’s a marina 8 min down the road for boat rentals and a campground right across to get gas (Mitchell’s point). I will definitely be renting again if I stay at SML. Thank you again to our hosts!
Pros: The house is spacious, clean, and newly renovated. There are a number of sitting rooms/decks from which to enjoy excellent views of the lake. The dock was well-maintained and easy for our group to use for boat parking. The host provided a range of life-jackets, floats, plenty of towels, etc. that made our time on the water more enjoyable. When issues came up the host was very attentive and quickly resolved them.
Cons: The layout of the house is a little odd. There are two full bathrooms, but both are on the opposite side of the house from the bedrooms (other than the kids/bunkroom). This wasn't a dealbreaker for us, but not ideal. The kitchen was adequate, but lacked some convenience items (wine glasses, paper towels). We knew this coming in and were prepared, but the area is remote--only major grocery store is a 25 min. drive, so plan accordingly!
Overall a nice stay, with just a few kinks that can be easily worked out.
We had a group of 6-8 through a six day stay in June 2026 and had a great time! The house is beautiful and the pictures don’t do it justice. Lisa and Sophia were excellent hosts and did their best to help meet any needs we had!If you are coming in the summer, it would be helpful to know that the house has central air in some parts and relies on window units on the addition. The increased energy use may be why it seems like the breakers tripped often while we were there. We had no other appliances plugged into the kitchen but when we tried to use the stove and the oven at the same time (same appliance), the entire unit would shut off when the oven reached 400 degrees. Lisa and Sophia were very responsive and sent someone over to flip the breakers as soon as they could. This happened to us multiple times. The downstairs AC unit also tripped a breaker and took out power to part of the downstairs unit. Again, Lisa and Sophia were very responsive and tried their best to come flip the breakers as the breakers are behind a locked door. By the time of our departure, they were looking into having a maintenance person come out so I’m very hopeful this will be fixed for future guests. If you are renting a boat, I would also check with the hosts and the water level. During our stay, the water level was very low and it was recommended we do not dock a boat at the time.We had a great time thanks to all the efforts of the hosts and it’s clearly a very well loved home.
Thank you for the wonderful stay at SML. Other than not being able to dock the boat at the house...due to low lake levels...it was great. We worked out logistics with the marina for the boat and all was well. We really enjoyed our week! Thanks J
The place was great and even though the water was low we could still get out and float. The paddle boards were an amazing addition. Everyone had a great time and we look forward to our trip
