Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time for our family week @SML. Enjoyed home, dock, kids could play safely, room for 2 boats, quiet cove with easy access to main channel, close to grocery stores & other needs. Host was very responsive, flexible, and good to work with.Hope to stay again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay with our kids and grandkids. We all enjoyed swimming off the dock without having to worry about boat traffic. Kitchen was large with plenty of room for cooking meals. Loved sitting on the screened in porch in the mornings, especially the swing! House is in a great location, near grocery store and Bridgewater plaza was fun for everyone. Ken was an amazing host, responded to all questions quickly and was very accommodating. Would highly recommend staying here.

Everything was beautiful. Only issue we had was the bed that was downstairs was really dirty when we pulled the covers back. There was alot of hair and quarers in the bed so ws know the sheets hadnt been Changed on that bed. Everything else was neat and clean.

Great trip and house

7th annual family lake trip. Grandparents and kids included. Great house for all ages. Great location...quick to restaurants, grocery stores, and boat rental Quiet deep cove great for swimming and non motorized activities. Beds are comfy. Homeowner is very friendly and quick to repond. Screened in porch and basement activities are great for poor weather.

Wonderful Stay

Your house was beautiful. We enjoyed our family weekend very much. I loved drinking my coffee on the porch swing early morning while watching the water. So relaxing! The inside is very charming and inviting. My family enjoyed the game room. Everything we needed was provided. The host was easy to communicate with prior to arrival. Would definitely stay again! Highly recommend! Thanks so much for helping make it a great experience!!!

Fun house for a family to vacation in.

This house is laid out beautifully for a big family to vacation in. It has plenty of beds and bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry room, big kitchen and dining area and TV rooms. There is a TV room upstairs and downstairs and a pool table and foosball game. Lots of DVD movies to watch. The upstair porch is so nice since it is screened in and the downstair porch is open. Stairs down to the dock and a nice quiet corner of the lake.

Fantastic Getaway

I would highly recommend this place if you wanna be outdoors and enjoy the beauty of SML. What I like best is all of the outdoor space which includes two decks on the back of the house and a huge brand new dock and boathouse at the lake. The place is located way back in a cove so there is virtually no other boat traffic. Although I like to be outside at a place like this, there is internet and DirecTV in the event of a bad weather day. Sunny Days is the place for families wanting to spend some great time together!

Great house and location but needs updating and deep cleaning.

Overall the house and dock were good. A few things need attention though. Grill is no longer usable, the pool table felt & bumpers need replacing and the air hockey was beat up and not usable. Outlets at kitchen island didn't work. House needs a deep cleaning as well.

Beyond Our Expectations!

Sunny Days was everything we wanted, needed, and so much more. The home is well decorated with lots of fun and useful extras. Besides being very clean, Sunny Days offers many forms of entertainment, both inside and outside. The setting is beautiful You will love the soaking tub! My granddaughter said it was "heaven." It is conveniently located to stores, a marina, restaurants, and many parks. The owner went above and beyond by reaching out to me personally to make sure we had an opportunity to ask questions and to introduce himself. He was responsive to all our questions in a timely manner. You will not regret renting this home. We can hardly wait to return!

Everything was great. We cant wait to have the opportunity to go back to this house. Clean, well stocked kitchen, views, communication. Everything was great! The only thing was VRBO did not email us the house code. Not the owners fault! Very good at reaching out and answering our calls. Again we will hopefully be back sometime in the future!

This was our third stay at this property. Kids were very excited about all the gaming opportunities, the proximity to the arcade, and of course, the fishing and the swimming off the dock. The family loved the lake view, the well supplied kitchen, and overall experience. We plan to be back!

Sunny Days is a great location and close to everything. The house was great. The walk up/down from the dock isn't bad at all. My only feedback is we noticed cameras on the dock, which is the owners right to have, but I feel like it should be disclosed in the listing, in case folks aren't comfortable with the idea of potentially being recorded.

My family had a great time at Sunny Days! It was wonderful, clean, and the location on the lake was spectacular. Wish we could stay longer!When I had trouble with the check in process, Ken was quick to get in touch and walk me through. He was available, but not pushy. Luckily everything else went perfectly. Thanks to our hosts for a wonderful time spent with family.

Beautiful house and property. We are returning guests from last year. The dock was great for fishing and swimming and the kids had a ball with the air hockey table. The house is convenient to the marina with the arcade and mini golf. Quite the family hit!

Perfect Lake Getaway!

We had an amazing stay at this well equipped house on the lake! The property was peaceful, clean, and had proper spaces for our family. We stayed as 3 families with kids of all ages. The lake location is great for fishing and safe swimming without boat traffic and big water noise. The private COVERED dock was ideal for lounging, fishing, and jumping into the water for a swim.The house was well-equipped and comfortable, with plenty of space to relax indoors and out, covered screened deck kept us dry during short drizzle, it allowed us to stay outside most of the time. Highly recommend this stay for anyone looking to unwind, enjoy nature, and make great memories by the water. This was our 3rd stay here and we hope to come back!

The house was perfect. Layout super for families.Two basement (walkout, great views) bedrooms openup to family room with large TV, pool table, and air hockey table. Shelley and I have been married over 31years and have always had a passion for enjoying a good get-away. In 2011, we decided to switch our stays at the ocean and head inland to a lake not too far from us. Needless to say, we fell in love with Lake Life! In 2014, we had some great friends of ours invite us down to Smith Mountain Lake. While it was a bit farther, we couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful the mountainous lake was and the deep waters Smith Mountain Lake had to offer.

Why they chose this property

Sunny Days captured our heart for a few main reasons:

1. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! - Sunny Days is moments away from grocery stores, restaurants, shopping and probably most important, Bridgewater Plaza (Home of the self-proclaimed, "Family Fun Center".

2. Water Depth - Sunny Days off of the dock averages about 12' deep. This gives plenty of depth for those both young and young at heart to not worry about jumping / diving in the water and getting to the bottom.

3. Water Location - Sunny Days is very convenient via water to both north and south areas on the lake. With SML having over 500 miles of shoreline, being centrally located allows for nice morning / sunset cruises without eating up your whole day.

4. Family Space - While there is plenty of room for your whole family to get together, we wanted a property that allowed those times when families want to spread out.

Hopefully when you visit Sunny Days you will see the values we mention above and come to love it like we do each and every visit!
