House is situated on a 20 acre dog-friendly fenced property with five acres of Syrah and Valpolicella blend vineyards, a seasonal creek and a wonderful mixture of benchland and upland flora and fauna. Quiet nights with stars abound, listen to the owl duets, and the ongoing symphony of wild nature!

Come and immerse yourself in this private, retreat to experience the Sonoma County way of life. Stone terrace surrounds the pool and in-ground hot tub and also includes a poolside pergola, unique changing cabana /enclosed outdoor shower.

Gourmet kitchen with huge Garland range (two ovens, salamander) Subzero fridge and island for communal food prep. Large handcrafted dining room table seats ten to twelve. Handmade Windsor chairs by American woodworker/artisans are beautiful and comfortable.

Central Air Conditioning in the upstairs bedrooms. makes for comfortable sleep and indoor time for any days that get extra hot. Energy efficient home by Siegel and Strain architects of Emeryville, California includes hydronically heated stone and tile floors in the winter and other green amenities including Solar hot water systems and a photovoltaic array provide the electricity for the farm, and now battery system provides continuous power even during energy shutdowns. Electric vehicle charging station provided on the premises.

The Dry Creek Farm Stay holds a valid permit with Sonoma County as a vacation rental (Transient Occupancy Tax Certificate # 1014N)

10 days of pure joy !!! Sally’s property is idyllic and she is the best host we’ve ever experienced !! We went to visit the vineyards, drive over to the coast and enjoy time with friends & family. What made the stay even more spectacular is her property - relaxing by the pool, dining under the pergola, playing lawn games, gazing up at the perfect night sky and taking in the golden hour sunsets. I love living in the Dry Creek Valley and have been here for eighteen years. As a fifth-generation Northern Californian, I moved to the Dry Creek Valley in 2006. You will see me from time to time engaged in projects around the property, or just walking my dogs Haiku and Cody. I am readily available for questions on request but will never intrude on your privacy without your invitation. I hope you will enjoy your stay and return year after year!

Why they chose this property

Nestled in a side canyon of the Dry Creek Valley, this is a central location for wine tasting and it is perfect for a week or weekend of living the wine country lifestyle without any of the cares of running a rural property! Grape creek, a seasonal stream running through our place has been involved in several habitat enhancement projects for the endangered Coho salmon, and also has breeding populations of steelhead trout as well as many other aquatic creatures and birds. Wild blackberries and grapes line the edges of the creek as a treat for humans and wildlife alike! The house is nestled into the side of the hill at 400' elevation where the oak woodland begins to transition to redwood, madrone, and douglas fir forest. It feels very far away from civilization, but of course it is a quick drive to the center of town (12 minutes) and even faster to our great local grocery, Big John's (10 minutes). There is WiFi and reliable (Starlink) internet access as well as a media room for watching movies/cable tv etc.

What makes this property unique

Great environment for walking, both on trails within fenced property (dogs can run safely off-leash!) and also in the immediate neighborhood. Four very nice wineries (Michel Schlumberger, Mounts, Quivira, and A. Raffanelli) are within easy walking distance (but do call ahead to confirm hours and also to make an appointment if needed). A nice longer walk (just under two miles) gets you to the Dry Creek General Store (and the adjacent awesome local bar where EVERYONE is welcome!) where you can pick up snacks, picnic food/sandwiches, cold and hot beverages. Open for morning coffee at 6:30am! If you bring or rent bicycles, the options are awesome, too. Take a spin up to Lake Sonoma and there is a nice climb up into the Rockpile AVA. Another great trip is over Canyon Road into Geyserville for lunch at Diavola. The cycling options are truly as diverse as your dining options in Healdsburg! I am happy to make recommendations about local restaurants and day trips as well. When you are here, you will feel like you are truly Out in the Country but you can be on the freeway in six minutes from my front gate and you can get to the Healdsburg Plaza (the beautiful tree-encircled town square...music all summer on Tuesday nights) in twelve minutes. I love living in Healdsburg, and I know you will love it too!
