This is the perfect place to stay when visiting the Ozark Mountains or Buffalo River! Nestled in the woods on a hill it offers an incredible view of the Ozarks. The house is nicely decorated and had many amenities. We had everything we needed and more. You won’t regret staying here!
Gorgeous, sparkling clean, comfortable house offering quiet seclusion, peaceful views of the Ozark Mountains from the back deck rocking chairs, and property to explore - the perfect home base to relax in the beauty of northern Arkansas. We kayaked on the Buffalo National River, explored the underground cave at Bull Shoals Caverns, and ate fresh trout at Gaston’s overlooking the Norfolk River.

The road was terrible. (and we are from a very rural area where the roads aren't always the best)There needs to be a note saying how terrible the road is. I would think if we had driven our car, we could not have been able to make it to the house. We arrived at night, and if not for a man who lived nearby, and stopped to ask what our business was in the area, we would not have found this location. Cell service was not great so it was impossible to get calls or texts for help.Just an observation, but I'm thinking this is not handicap friendly. The downstairs bath could not be used by someone in a wheelchair. The owners may want to think about that also. The place is wonderful as a quiet retreat. We were comfortable in our surroundings. We were cold in the house and wanted to build a fire in the woodstove, but I was concerned that it was positioned too close to objects and the walls

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found the property comfortable and enjoyed it as a quiet retreat.
We understand that arriving after dark can make finding a rural property more challenging, especially when cell service is limited in some areas. As noted in our listing, the home is located down a county-maintained gravel road. While many guests navigate it without issue, we recognize that road conditions and comfort levels can vary depending on the vehicle and the driver’s expectations.
Regarding accessibility, we appreciate your observations. While the home was not specifically designed as an ADA-accessible property, the doorways are wide and have accommodated wheelchair users in the past. However, we understand that individual accessibility needs can vary, particularly when it comes to bathroom layouts.
As for the wood-burning stove, guest safety is very important to us. The stove was professionally installed and has been safely used for many years. We regularly inspect and maintain it, and have enjoyed hundreds of fires there ourselves.
The property was really nice! It was very clean and updated. They provided the "little" things that made the stay that much nicer, such as: coffee/filters, sugar/creamer, a few snacks, q-tips, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, etc. The towels were very thick and soft. Nice sheets. The only thing to note was the last part of the drive up to the house was rough gravel for approx 4 miles. The owners can't help this, of course, but is good for people to know in advance! Any car could drive it, but it was better in a large truck than it would have been in a smaller car. Beautiful property all around it though, and definitely worth the drive.
