Our Sanctuary Tiny House vacation rental is newly renovated with private decks and a fenced yard, set in the middle of an 18-acre farm animal sanctuary. We're in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains with dozens of pecan trees and gorgeous mountain views.
We're an active rescued farm animal sanctuary. Sanctuary Tiny House, along with donations, is the main source of income to run Changing Hearts Farm Sanctuary - 100% of rental income goes directly to the care of the animals. So, when you book your Sanctuary Stay, you're helping the sweet residents you'll grow to love!

As you enter the property you may be greeted by Bucky and Baker, adorable goats who are as friendly as a couple of puppies. You'll also meet pigs, sheep, cows, horses, and dogs all enjoying their sanctuary home - which is yours to enjoy now too.
Sanctuary Tiny House is completely renovated with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. You can enjoy our peaceful acreage and visit with friendly rescued farm animals, take the short drive into the quaint town of Shelby to explore the storybook Main Street, or head into Charlotte, Greenville, or Asheville for big city experiences.
Do you love to cook? You can do so in the kitchen or use the grill on the deck on those warm evenings.
After dinner stroll down to the horse barn with a glass of wine to enjoy the sunset, then gather around the fire pit for s'mores.
Snuggle into bed and enjoy a wonderful night's sleep, then in the morning enjoy coffee or tea on the deck overlooking pastures and mountains. You might even find some adorable animals at your gate, wanting to say hello.
FENCED YARD for your DOG: We've always loved vacationing with our dogs, but finding dog-friendly places to stay wasn't always easy. That's why we're welcoming both human and dog guests to our beautiful sanctuary. Your dog will enjoy 18-acres to explore on-leash, and the private fenced yard for off-leash fun.
Note: in order to keep all our farm animals and dogs safe and content, we allow one small dog (less than 40 lbs) who has a friendly temperament with other animals and is not a constant barker (this can be upsetting to some of our residents.) Additional dogs or larger dogs would be considered on a case-by-case basis (all to ensure our animals are safe). Please call Rick to discuss: 704-600-5665.
While we're a vegan family and we rescue farmed animals, we don't require guests to eat vegan food in the Sanctuary Tiny House. Our main goal is to enable you to have the perfect sanctuary stay! Of course, if you'd like to enjoy a plant-based vacation we're happy to help! We can provide some favorite recipes for you, as well as some of our favorite foods you can buy at local grocery stores and restaurants. Please note, we do require that only vegan food be prepared and consumed in the Pavilion and public grilling areas.
While our beautiful rural location doesn't yet have internet connectivity, we will soon (we’re right beside a university after all!) In the meantime, we have strong 5G cellular service, so hotspot connectivity is excellent. (We work from here all the time using our hotspot and it works great!)
