Thank you for your stay. We hope to host you again!
My biggest problem with this booking is that a rental agreement was sent to me 2 days before our reservation started although I had booked weeks before. I actually only found out about this because I called the number on the website to inquire about check in info. I was berated by the woman who answered telling me I called a personal cell phone. Very rude and abrupt. I was forced to explain myself repeatedly because she did not seem to believe I had gotten her number off the Expedia website. House was fine but I won’t rebook

We apologize for the response you received. She was shocked that her private number, which was to be used for only business calls was given out to customers. WE are looking in to why you only received your information 2 days before checking in.

I used the ‘Accessibility’ filter because we were traveling with someone disabled. I chose the house because it said it had an elevator. Not once did it mention it was a ‘Cargo Lift’ or that it was an extra $100 to use. ‘Elevator’ was listed in the Amenities of the house but was not available for use when we arrived. This was only the first issue we had during our stay. We learned as we started to cook dinner that evening that the oven was not pre-heating. Once the management company (Remax-Bolivar Escapes) finally had someone come take a look (2 days later) the heating element was busted and there was nothing they could do. The fridge was also not cooling and they brought us a cooler with ice to keep our things in. It took 2 days and a visit from maintenance for the fridge to cool to correct temp.
On top of faulty appliances, the AC of the house could not keep up. It was 76 degrees from 3-8PM. They changed a very dirty air filter but it did not make a difference in the afternoons. I have never left a bad review in my life and have rented many many homes over the years. The home owners refunded us $75 for our trouble. What a joke. Take some ownership of your home and your responsibility to the customer or don’t rent your house out. This is a scam.

Dear Jess,
You started your trip by saying the yard was full of trash and the grill had stuff all over it. We immediately sent maintenance over and he found 3 wrappers that had blown out of the garbage and 2 bags of charcoal and lighter fluid on top of the pit, which we removed for you. At 7:50pm you contacted us telling us that the refrigerator was not cooling, the AC was not cooling, and the oven was not working. We again, immediately came out. We found that you had turned the refrigerator up as cold as it would go and you had turned the AC down in the low 60's. Unfortunately when customers do this it will freeze up the refrigerator as well as the AC. We could see the freezer was working and at this point it had caused the refrigerator to not be as cool as it should. Since this was after hours, we could not get our appliance company out there , we went and got you a cooler with ice until we could get the appliance company out the next day, NOT two days later. The appliance company took everything apart and found the refrigerator to be working properly, due to you turning the temperatures so low it caused it to freeze up, but at that time he said the refrigerator was now cooling properly. The AC was low on freon, so they added some and replaced the filter. The AC has been working fine ever since. We are not sure why he did not look at the oven at that time, maybe there were are lot of distractions, and you are right, he did come out the following day to check it. The oven element was out and has been ordered. In your contract you will see we are not responsible for any appliance failures, and do not give refunds for appliance failures. Although, we jump through hoops to accommodate if there are any. It's helpful if you do not abuse the temperature of our appliances. We do apologize that you were without an oven for your stay, everything else was in working order. You immediately started mentioning money, and said you would be leaving a bad review if you did not receive any, therefore, we did offer $75. You said you wanted more, we asked what you felt would be reasonable, you wanted half off your entire stay. I am sorry we couldn't accommodate that request and we knew you would opt to leave a bad review, but, we also knew that was coming after the call of wrappers in the yard. We are not a scam at all, we are a legitimate company servicing our clients in an extremely timely manner. Unfortunately for this lovely home, with great features and amazing decks, their oven heating element went out to ruin your stay.
