About this property
Front Porch Therapy - Escape to your hideaway only 6 minutes above Boone
Escape to this amazing retreat just 2.5 miles from ASU. Experience the serene wooded ambiance, cozy fireplace and the fire pit for evening gatherings. Enjoy stunning views year-round. Perfect for football weekends with spacious living, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a fully equipped kitchen. If you need more space, message us about how you can rent the downstairs portion of the house which includes 2 sets of bunk beds, living area, and full bath. This area will not be accessible if booked here.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions before you arrive or if you need anything during your stay. We want to make sure you are prepared for your visit and have everything you need for a comfortable stay.
We are in the woods but only 6 minutes from King Street and 9 minutes from Kidd Brewer Stadium. You can see two homes through the trees next door and behind us, but the yard is still private. There are 80 acres of woods beside the house on the other side and no one directly across the road.
Simple contactless check in available. Just before check in we will email you an access code for the door and you can let yourself in at your convenience.
On the main level there is a kitchen, dining area, family room with a stone fireplace, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. You will also access both decks from this level. There is a laundry room downstairs with a full size washer and dryer, an additional side by side refrigerator, and a door to the exterior. You'll find a well stocked kitchen with a drip coffee maker, blender, toaster, electric hand mixer, electric water kettle, pots, pans, casserole dishes, and baking sheets.
A note about pets: We allow up to two dogs, but no cats or other animals. The yard is NOT fenced so we recommend that you keep your dogs on a leash while in the yard. There are chipmunks, squirrels, deer, and other wildlife that dogs love to chase and we would hate for your dog to get lost! Both decks have gates so that you can enjoy the deck without worrying about dogs running off. We provide bowls for food and water, poop bags, and older towels for cleanup. You will need to bring your dog's favorite bed and toys. Unfortunately, our insurance forbids renting to certain breeds. If you have a dog often deemed by insurance as a "dangerous breed" please inquire to see if our insurance forbids that particular breed.
The home is on a gravel road. It's a short distance off the pavement and straight, but cars with a very low clearance may have a harder time with it. The home is on the top of a mountain, so if you travel in winter, we recommend vehicles with all wheel drive and/or chains. Roads are plowed all the way to the gravel road, and we will have this privately plowed as well, but there is no guarantee when roads will be cleared. Please plan accordingly. There are no refunds given for weather-related travel difficulties.
Rental agreement must be signed prior to check in by electronic signature.
There are a few security cameras outdoors so we can monitor the exterior of the home for maintenance reasons. There is a camera on the corner of the house monitoring the driveway, a doorbell camera on the basement door, and a camera monitoring the gravel road. Of course, there are no cameras on the interior, or on the decks or fire pit for your privacy.
