Enjoy your morning coffee while sitting on the Lanai with a beautiful ocean view. You may see a pod of dolphins swim by, or whales breaching in the winter months. Watch the sunrise and sunset from the Makahuena point, just steps from our unit.

This beautiful 2 BR 2 BA, ocean view, second floor condo is 1150 SF, and has recently been updated in 2017 with new windows, new patio doors and new shower tiles after being totally remodeled in 2011. This unit has new tile floors throughout, and laminate wood floors in both bedrooms. The entire condo is furnished with brand new furniture.

A new gourmet kitchen with cherry cabinets, granite counters, and new appliances provide everything you need to comfortably prepare your meals. The Makahuena barbeque pavilion is right outside the condo. The living room is spacious, and includes a sleeper sofa, flat screen television with Blue Ray/DVD player. Some DVDs are provided. The large master bedroom has a beautiful king size bed with a brand new pillow top mattress. The attached bathroom has also been tastefully remodeled. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds, and gorgeous mahogany furniture. The entire unit has new wood window coverings that offer privacy.

For your use and enjoyment we have provided beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, a large ice chest, and games. 2 Pickle Ball paddles and 2 tennis racquets are also provided for your use at the Makahuena tennis/Pickle Ball court. The complex also has a pool with a hot tub with a wonderful ocean view.

The beautiful Makahuena complex is only a few minutes walk to the world renown Poipu Beach, Brennecke Beach, and the Grand Hyatt Hotel with its fine dining.

We went to Kauai for a family wedding and anniversary. There were 28 of us in all and we all stayed at various condos at the Makahuena. Our condo was immaculate and had everything we needed and more! We will definitely be going back. Thanks Rodney for all of your help and for all of the information and always being available to help.

Spacious with a view

Wonderful property!! So spacious, stylish, and comfortable. No a/c (very typical for hawaiian homes) but it was never a problem for our family. They had multiple fans in the rooms AND effective ceiling fans. There was never any direct sun into the home which kept the home at an easy temp all day. Over all it was a great place to stay!

Overall was great. Was a little disappointed with trying to get replacements for things like laundry detergent, dryer sheets and a few others. Was told the few items in the condo were all that will be provided. Had to get them on my own when they ran out which also left me with a bunch of supplies I had to leave there. Kinda of stinky under the kitchen sink. Lastly I would have the tracks on the screen doors, bifold doors and blinds get some maintenance so they work better.

Very pleasant and accommodating host and their representative both for an early check-in and late checkout. Additionally a small issue we commanicated was immediately addressed. The apartment was super clean when we arrived. It was easy to figure out the lockbox to enter. We saw a well stocked kitchen from condiments to kitchenware and utensils. There's a newer spacious fridge, and washer dryer, all of which were very useful for our family of four. The apartment has a nice view to the beautiful ocean from the Lanai (balcony). Although there was no air conditioning as stated in the description, the cross airflow from the kitchen window, the bedrooms and if opened, the main door provided ample cooling to be comfortable. The night sky was beautiful to see from the Lanai and the grounds with clear view of the stars, and is ideal for astro photography buffs. If we were to come back again we would certainly choose this property and host again. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Condo to Stay While on Kauai

We loved our stay in Poipu. We stayed in the condo for 4 nights. We used it as a base to explore the island which is absolutely stunning. And the location of the condo is second to none - walking distance to the beautiful Poipu Beach and to the wonderful shopping and restaurants in the area. The condo itself is beautiful and very welcoming. It easily accommodated my family of 5. Evelyn, the property manager, was always very responsive to my messages and the instructions for the condo were extremely clear. Everything was nice and easy. We forgot that the condo did not have AC (like most places in Kauai), but the fans and the island trade winds provided enough cooling for us. The only reason why I am giving this review 4 stars versus 5 is that the condo came with little bathroom amenities. For a family of 5 for the length of time we were there, we went through the supplied "hotel" size soap and shampoo within the first day. I would be willing to pay a little more for the rental and have more supplies, rather than have to take away from my vacation time to shop for shampoo, soap and TP. But this is just a small thing. We really had a great time and would return again (we hope we can come back soon!!) Mahalo Karen and Rodney!!

Great location

This was our 50th state to vist as a family. Location was key for us since we were exploring the whole island. We really enjoyed this . Its clean quiet place with a beautiful view while walking to your condo. Manager and Host easy to reach and reapond back in a timely manner. We accidentally thought we booked for our full time here but realized we missed a day. Host and manager worked worked with us and since no one was booked we were able to book another night.

Better than expected

Exceeded our expectations. It hard to tell from the photos, but the property is like 100 yards from the ocean! We were able to watch whales, dolphins, and sea turtles from the lookout areas. There is also a trail that starts right to the left of the property that joins with the heritage trail/shipwreck beach nearby. Multiple boogie boards, umbrellas and chairs provided. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds.

Had A wonderful time. The place lived up to everything that was listed. Great view, great location, near the beach, shopping, restaurants and yet a quiet atmosphere. Every question we had when we arrived was answered promptly. Enuf supplies and cooking stuff, bed was comfort plus. Had some issues with ceiling fans but we survived. Saw whales, dolphins and sea turtles from the lanai. Thank you for a great stay!!

Spacious Condominium in Poipu

While this complex is older, the condominiums themselves appear to be kept in good condition. Our condo was spacious (2 full large bedrooms and bathrooms a very nice kitchen/dining/family room open area. Communication with property management company was excellent ... they responded quickly and in a helpful manner. One side of our toaster wasn't working right and we had a new toaster in the box at our doorstep the next morning. The grounds were very well kept and we could walk downstairs to a grassy knoll area in two minutes and watch a wide-open beautiful view of sunsets.

Why they chose this property

Kauai has always held a special place in our hearts. Having lived in Koloa in the early 1970's, Poipu Beach is like home. Kauai holds very special memories for Karen and me. Our honeymoon was on Kauai where we enjoyed hiking in the Waimea Canyon. Many of my cousins still call Kauai home. "The sounds of the ocean soothes our restless souls!"

What makes this property unique

Makahuena offers beautiful ocean and garden views. You can see the sunrise and sunset from the point. Even Oahu is visible on a clear day just before sunrise! We especially enjoy the peaceful mornings on the lanai. Our location takes full advantage of the cooling tradewinds and the calming sounds of the waves crashing on the point.
