About this property

Prouts Neck Steps to the beach,15 Minutes to Portland!

Just steps away from the beach, next to Portland, our home is perfect for visiting anytime of the year! Also, being 15 minutes from Portland you can go out on the town and come home to a little paradise. Take a three minute walk down the street to enjoy the calm waters of ferry beach, one of the most private beaches in the world, where you can swim, lay in the sun, and enjoy the calm protected inlet. The larger scarborough beach, black point inn, and the scenic cliff walk is just short walk away. Pick up lobsters from our local lobsterman who lives only three houses down the road!

The property is also completely winterized or those sometime chilly nights in the spring and fall.

We are two hours from boston. Portland is 15 minutes away offering an airport and some of the best cuisine in new england. Shop ‘til you drop not only in portland, but freeport (home of ll bean) and kennebunkport which are within an hours drive

The entire house and barn were completely renovated in 2012, when our family purchased it from the original owners. Built in 1910, the four square colonial house has unique characteristics including hardwood floors, new stainless steel appliances, and fireplace. The house sleeps 8-9 guests including 3 1/2 bathrooms.

• in total, the main house has 6 bedrooms and 3 baths on the second floor as well as a tv room on the first floor with an additional private bath.
• the lawn between the barn and the house provides great possibilities for playing bocce ball, croquet or roasting marshmallows in the fire pit at night

Amenities include high speed internet. The home is fully furnished with dishes, linens, and all cooking supplies, a new full size washer and dryer as well as an outdoor shower with hot water. Lots of room outdoors to lounge and play games. Fire pit and dine in the barn. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed . This is a non-smoking property.

About the host

We are originally from Texas, but have made our way to New England and love it. Our other home is in Rhode Island. I renovate old homes and this one was such a challenge I had to take it on! We filled 37 dumpters with 'stuff' and re-created a New England jem.

Why they chose this property

After visiting The Blackpoint Inn in Prouts I was hooked. So peaceful, with two of the most amazing beaches anywhere. It only takes me a couple hours to get here from my home. There is a spectacular cliff walk and you can ride your bike all around. You feel as if you are worlds away from any hussle and bussle, yet unbelievable food, antiques and shopping are only minutes away. I love to eat and antique!

What makes this property unique

The property has many special featues, my favorite is the barn. You are unable to sleep there but can slide open the barn doors and dine, feeling like you stepped back into history. Sit on the front porch and enjoy your morning coffee or play horseshoes on the expansive lawn.
