Excellent Location/Excellent Condo Layout
This was a fine place to stay. The Condo unit was clean, very well equipped, and had an excellent lani overlooking the field and then on to the ocean/beach. The view was a quiet one looking out. The pools were smallish and only one of the two hot tubs were working. Some handy reference books on Hawaii and Kauai were available for our preview. We bought and left a wicker book basket (one was already there) but we added more books to the selection for future vacationers. The scrabble game actually had all 100 tiles present! We added a deck of cards to the unit. To be picky, the TV was on the small side (but are we there to watch TV?:). The beach towels could have been a larger size ... but all this is pretty picky as the unit was overall excellent. Unfortunately I had an ear infection on our last day (ER visit) and we worked to leave the unit proper ... but were rushed due to our need to get medical advice, prescriptions, and treatment before flying out. I wouldn't mind an 11am checkout rather than the 10am one. Definitely would like to return to this unit if/when we revisit Kauai (costs are skyrocketing!).

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time staying in this unit. The last time was five years ago. We were happy to see that it has had some upgrades since our last visit, even though we were happy enough to come back anyway. New flooring and a new hide-a-bed couch improved the looks of the place.The area is very nice with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. It isn't "on" the beach, but the beach is a short walk through a vacant lot to the beach. This is our 4th stay on Kauai and Kappa'a is our favorite area to stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was clean and nicely equipped and furnished. Really nice that this was an end unit. The entire property had 3 separate pools and was disappointed to see 1 of the 2 hot tubs 'out of service' and the 2nd one might as well have been as the whirlpool switch was very finicky and did not work half the time. Property management insisted that the second hot tub was working, which was not correct. We were right across the street next to a field that had to be crossed to get to the beach/ocean and once you got there, the beach was not swimmable as the water was very rough and the beach rocky. The field was very much in need of a cleanup (trash) as well. We found that locals would drive their cars/trucks to the edge of the beach for easy access for fishing. Besides being on the east side of the island not having sunsets available, the location was great, centrally located on the east side, with easy access to the south end and north end. Easy access to Kappa was a plus as well and 10 minutes from the airport. The bed and living furniture's were very comfortable and quiet. A couple more luggage stands would have been beneficial. Unit also came with a couple beach chairs which was a huge plus for when we did go the calmer beaches close by (a short drive). We cooked out one night at the pool and the grill was lovely, clean and in great working order. Walking access to the Coconut Market was also great. Careful with those heavy suitcases as there are no elevators and there was no ice maker in the unit’s refrigerator, so we found ourselves constantly making ice by filling ice trays. Parking was very convenient, but the use of a community laundry room was not ideal. Overall, I gave it a ‘4’ rating from a comfort, location, and cleanliness standpoint.
