Second time around, double the fun

This was our second trip to Jamaica and we wanted to stay at Jaquar Villas again, where we stayed during our stay 2016. We were a huge crowd, family and friends. This property is perfect for a big group of people as there are 4 separate units. We cannot say enough about the kind staff that worked long hours to cater to our schedule. Wonderful breakfasts and dinners were enjoyed all together, 46 of us, at the Palashia's large dining space. We had a all white party one night with a pig roast BBQ and DJ for music, it was a blast. There was scuba diving and fishing one day, golf tournament one day, 4 wheeling one day and lot of beach relaxation. We are already missing Jamaica and started planning next trip already. This time it wont be 3 years. Hopefully next year. And we are definitely booking Jaquar Villas again as it is the best place - awesome staff, great set up, private yet close to town and beach, near all the action of Ocho Rios and the coolest places. One Love !

SERVICE. SERVICE. SERVICE.

I recently led a group of 29 musicians, music lovers and sun-seekers to Runaway Bay, and we occupied the entirety of the Jaquar Villas properties. I, myself, stayed in the top floor of Palashia Villa. Let’s start with the down-sides. There are very few. Some of the rooms have no dressers, and on longer stays, this can sometimes be an issue. Walking to the beach? Not really as easy as it might appear. The stairs to Tangerine Villa up the hill are a winding 120 steps up a mountain, so be mindful of that if booking several of the properties. The beds are large but for some, overly firm. The A/C works better in some rooms than in others. But seriously, that’s pretty much it. And look at that list. This is a nitpicker’s delight. These are all incredibly minor issues compared to the WONDERFUL experience we just had. The homes themselves are GORGEOUS, COMFORTABLE and SAFE. The staff is incredibly FRIENDLY, ATTENTIVE and COURTEOUS. The accommodations are CLEAN, SPACIOUS and largely in GOOD WORKING ORDER. If you hire the chefs (highly recommended) the food is OUTSTANDING. I’ve taken this group to a lot of places, mostly in Ireland, and I’ve organized a few larger trips to the Caribbean and Mexico as well. This experience was TOP NOTCH. I’m a worrier and care about the details. There are dozens of people counting on me. But between Fabian, Denton and Sally, all of my concerns slowly melted away and I was able to actually enjoy the experience. You can’t put a price on that. 5 BLAZING STARS.

Escape to Paradise.

Oh my gosh! what a wonderful experience. I was at the Jaquar Villas (which includes Tangerine and Palashia villas, Bamboo cottage & Zen pavilion) for a trip on January. We were a multi-family group and used both Villas. I have previously been to Jamaica to an all-inclusive resort which don't get wrong was it's own different fabulous, but once you're on site it could have been anywhere with sun, sand and tropical climate. This time we wanted to experience "real" Jamaica and that's exactly what we got. Upon arrival we were welcomed by staff that we came to realize were genuinely wonderful. They were most helpful and made sure we had a great time. The property was stunning. Breathtaking views. I loved the indoor-outdoor feel. I loved the visits from the Geckos or Salamanders or whatever they are called. The cool breezes were delightful. Some of our group did use the A/C units but I preferred the tropical breeze. The food was outstanding. We had a real mix from what I would call adventurous eaters to the downright picky (my teenage son was one of those!!). The chef artfully catered to all of us. Some of us got to taste some foods we'd never heard of and loved it. As we did our shopping for the foods/ingredients it gave us an opportunity to go to a local store and experience that. Isn't that the point of travelling. For sure it didn't look like the supermarkets I shop at here at home, but they had everything we need and more. Sally was able to turn her hand to anything that was asked of her. A true Chef. So the adventurous eaters and the picky ones were all satisfied. The pools were wonderful. I could have lounged there all day with an adult beverage (local rum of course, Oh and that Ting, local grapefruit soda... Yum!) the setting in a natural "jungle" was true Caribbean for me. I certainly don't need the manicured lawns of suburbia when in the Caribbean. Like I said I could have stayed on the property all day, but did venture out and so glad we did. The private beach was exactly that. The kids definitely had a blast down there. They even got to ride horses in the ocean. It was only a few minutes by car, but if you need to get your step count up (and who doesn't after lounging by the pool?) you can walk down to the beach. It was what I would call a good exercise walk. After that a side trip over to Sharkie's for some fresh caught fish. Devine. Back to the Villas, with rooms individually decorated with Caribbean décor. Such vibrant colors. We'll be back.....

Tangerine Villa

You will not be disappointed by the attentiveness of Kay and all the staff at Tangerine Villa. They helped us every step of the way and made our stay amazing! Also, the location of the villa is in a beautiful area and very close to many worth while attractions! This will be a vacation we will not soon forget and hope to experience again soon!

The Villas were beautiful and peaceful

This was the most memorable vacation I have ever been on! The staff was incredible and friendly and helpful. We always felt safe and taken care of. All of our villas were stocked with snacks and beverages every morning. My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the middle cozier places with his brother and girlfriend, it had an awesome view from our little deck. It became the hang out spot for most people in our little group for coffee in the morning and a smoke at night. The two bigger villas were amazing for bigger gatherings and games to play around larger tables. The food was incredible! Our kitchen staff was very cool and sweet, Sally was the head of the kitchen and she was so kind to give me pointers on recipes and tell me what was in everything. I love cooking so I was fascinated to learn about a new cuisine. When we first picked out our room the air con wasn't working properly but Taylor and Obrian got right on it and it was fixed by the time we got back from our trip to the beach that day. We had no problems after that. Jackie and Nola were happy to braid some of the people in our group's hair and that was fun for those who got that done. Obrian was our main guy. We really developed a close relationship with him over the days we spent in Jamaica! He was by far the kindest most genuine person I have had the pleasure of meeting in a very long time. I look forward to continuing our friendship throughout our futures! We can't wait to get back down there and spend more time with all the friends we made there. There were two super cute puppies that O.b. was caring for, that hung around the villas and they made my trip so much more enjoyable too! I loved the names he gave them, Rocky Dog and Mia Pup! Sounds so island life to me and kind of melted my lil heart! I really cannot speak highly enough about the service and helpful nature we received while we were there. We miss it so much! Especially O.b. and the puppers! This was a trip to remember for the rest of our lives!

Escape from the deep freeze

Family and friends visiting Jamaica, a much deserved escape after the long cold winter. After some flight delays and frustrations during the travels, it was awesome to arrive to this beautiful property and be welcomed by the wonderful staff, who had a delicious dinner ready for us, rum bunch and cold beer on the ice! This is a tropical paradise, with so much nature all around, we never expected such a unique private oasis compared to the usual type of places. The pictures do not show the true beauty of this place at all. We all loved our rooms, the poolside and celebration lounge. It was hard to decide to go on the road, as here at the villa were were so comfortable and the staff were spoiling us all day long. The cooking was by far the best. The jamaican food that we have tasted before, was nothing compared to food at Jaquar Villas. Each meal here was an exciting experience with new flavors and dishes. Some of us are vegan, some with allergies to seafood and others scared of spice, yet the cooks provided a perfect menu each day, to please each one of us. They worked so hard. This place is worth every penny, you will never find a place at this value and quality, for a large group especially. The beach is stunning, never knew that Runaway Bay has such amazing beaches. Perfect. Better than Negril, no hasslers. We will return for sure. Thank you Jaquar Villas crew; Sally, Jackie, Taylor and OB ! Miss you already !

Beautiful property; lovely staff; be attentive to kitchen

Amazing! Stay here! Used the entire property for stay. We throughly enjoyed our stay. I want to give a special shout out to the property manager, Taylor. His attention to detail helped our guests in too many ways to count. He made us all feel as if Jaquar Villa was our home. Helena, the curator of the property will be the person you communicate with and plan your stay. Her email response time and costumer service is bar none. I swear I haven't had the pleasure of working with someone better and I travel a lot. She was perfect! We had an great wedding weekend because the property and the staff were so beautiful. I would absolutely stay here again. There are some things you should know: Crawling critters were all over the property (lizards, water-bugs, large spiders etc....) They were not intrusive but simply apart of the nature thats abundantly around. Barking dogs. Actually they howled and scraped and cried all night into morning. It was quite strange. The kitchen staff were wonderful ladies, helpful and their gift for cooking is evident but not all of the food we brought into the property was cooked. Breakfast never seemed to be enough for all guests. In fact many guests overheard conversations by the kitchen staff about diving up the food ingredients bought amongst themselves. For others this may seem alarming but for us we knew we had intentions of allowing them to have whatever was left over and so decided for the sake of the peaceful weekend not to make a big deal of it. For anyone reading this do not be put off by this just keep an eye on the food being cooked and the ingredients being used. Special shout out to Mr. Gilling. He is the driver for the property. On time service with a smile. Accommodating! Friendly! Knowledgable about the ins and outs of the island! I encourage anyone with a large group to stay here. Memories were made that will last my family a lifetime.

Ultimate Jamaican getaway

This was the ultimate Jamaican getaway. We searched for the perfect place to experience island life, while still having the luxury of being pampered by the villa staff. Jaquar Villas is a tropical paradise. Total privacy with lots of space to spread out for our group. We loved our mornings with the delicious jamaican breakfast. Some of us walked to the beach, some were driven by our driver. The beach is a hidden gem. Perfect white sand beach, almond trees giving shade for those who dont want to cook themselves under the hot jamaican sun. The ocean is so warm and gentle. We had lunch on the road every day, while exploring the multitude of fun places. Scotches jerk centre is great, with wicked hot sauce. We loved Sharkies and Evita's. A trip to the blue mountains is so great, did some hiking on the top and enjoyed some of the best coffee in the world. Looking down at Kingston was a fab view. Each time we got back to the villlas, the intoxicating smell of the chef's cooking welcomed us back to our jamaican home. Every night was a dinner party, with reggae playing and rum coctails flowing. Man, that was the best time we all ever dreamed of having. Ventured out after dinner few times, clubbing once and other time to a karaoke bar. So much fun. And a big thanks to the drivers, who patiently waited for us where ever we stopped at. They were good guides and in addition to the attentive villa staff, made our vacation the best time ever. We could not have been happier with the accommodations that we found here. Tropical, rustic and spacious, clean and comfortable. One week is not enough at all. Next time must make it a longer trip.

Winter Holiday in Paradise

We are a large Russian family. Always travel during the holidays, Christmas and New Year. We love to go to the tropics and relax. Here we had a wonderful time. The chef served excellent food and christmas dinner was the best that we ever had. We like to drink and eat and have good times. We had so much fun every day. The drivers took us everywhere in nice buses. All the jamaican people are so friendly and nice. We loved eating at the Sharkies seafood restaurant on the beach and went on a boat to have sunset cocktails. We also visited Dunns River Falls and climbed up the waterfalls. That was so great. New Years was a celebration bonfire on the beach, after late dinner. Next day we went to the Puerto Seco Beach Club, 10 minutes drive to next village. We had a private cabana with a butler serving us champagne and food and some of us went paragliding there. This is an amazing place, we recommend to go early and spend all day. There is a entrance fee $10. We love Jaquar Villas for our group. We are not easy people and the good members of Jaquar Villas took very good care of us, every day. I think we don't need to go to a new place anymore, just come back here, because nowhere else there is this kind of service as Jaquar Villas offers. Thank you and see you next year.

Absolutely stunning!

I soooo fell in love with this property! The view was to die for and it was like having a mini resort all to yourself. The staff were great and literally helped us to get acclimated with the country. Homey, private with the feel of being at a celebrities house.

Absolutely amazing... all I expected and more!!

How do I begin capturing my experience here!! Well lets start with scheduling and planning. Helena is a GOD send and flexible, funny, attentive and professional! I would book with her ANYTIME!!! I think this woman is a saint with all of my questions, changes, requests... and she met and exceeded every expectation!!!The Villa- Where do I start!? Beautiful, Comfortable, Safe, Inviting, Alluring, Breathtaking! I can use all of those words.I took a group of friends to Jamaica to celebrate my birthday and we were not disappointed at all. Amazing craftsmanship through out, so much wood that was hand crafted locally... I mean- look at her website, it is just as beautiful in person!! The decor and furniture flowed seamlessly and every room felt like an experience... everything just fit.I picked my room ( the master) with a full bath several had this option and space was not a concern for any of us. All of the rooms were air conditioned and there is wifi as well .Everything was clean, spacious, comfortable and I felt like I walked into paradise. I remember walking out to the pool that evening looking up at the stars and out at the ocean... past the beautiful jungle like setting below.... and I thought, this is the moment I waited for!!!We walked the property filled with fruit trees...avocado, lemon... and more!And that was just the view from the main floor!My friends slept upstairs and their rooms stepped out unto a private patio area...again with views that you have to experience to believe.If that isn't enough- the staff is AMAZING Special applause and much appreciation to Sally. She made sure the house was clean, food was cooked every morning as we requested and she was available to prepare what ever meal was required ...but we enjoyed dinners out every night, just because!! All of the staff were so very personable and became our family immediately.Safety- There is security... and we felt comfortable and confident that we were protected and didn't worry at all.I would absolutely stay here again and am planning to do so soon! This trip was by far the best and so peaceful. I experienced so much in Jamaica but my best memories and moments happened in the Palashia Villa at Jaquar Resort!

Spacious villa with a breathtaking view

My overall experience at Jaquar Villa was amazing. I was a little apprehensive at first but the place was lovely. I loved the rooms and how spacious the villa was. It was very well kept and clean when we first arrived. The hospitality we received was superb, and I truly felt relaxed my entire trip. The pool area was my favorite part of the villa. It was great being able to wake up and step outside of my room to the pool and that breathtakinig view. The villa could use some minor updates but overall I think anyone who chooses to stay there won't be disappointed. I'm looking forward to my next trip there!

Privacy, great staff, beautiful beach

It was hard to find a large enough property for our group, and Jaquar Villas popped up after much search. We were 50 persons. We arrived at the airport to find two large buses waiting for us, coolers full of refreshments. On arrival to the villas, a beautiful dinner was set up and waiting for us. The whole vacation was smooth and everyone felt relaxed and well taken care of. The staff are the best at Jaquar. The property is extremely private, amazing views, the beach is perfect and Runaway Bay is really nice. We went to Ocho Rios one day for shopping, catamaran cruise, Dunns River Falls and later, night clubbing at the Margaritaville. Enjoyed the property so much we kind of stayed by the pool or the beach most days. One dinner at nearby Sharkies, which was great, fresh fish. Next time we shall try to venture out little more, as there are tons of places to see. Highly recommend this property.

The PERFECT vacation with incredible staff!!!

This place is a hidden gem of Jamaica. There are two main houses that are incredible in their own right- complete with pools and plenty of space to relax. Then there are two smaller villas that are a bit more cramped but still very enjoyable. We rented all four to host 55 people for five days. Everyone had a great vacation. The staff cooked delicious food and were always accommodating- Fabian, the house manager, even went to pick up more alcohol for us on the last day when we were running low. The entire reservation process was easy and we were very satisfied with the experience. 10/10 would do again. Great vibes.

First time renting a villa. This was an authentic experience for my family. I wanted everyone to enjoy a vacation In a private villa. I wanted a place where we could enjoy the beautiful country. At this property we really found a perfect place. The staff was wonderful and the cooking was suburb. The property was much more spacious than appears in pictures, great location and so different. Cool decor. We enjoyed day trips to many places, but our favorite day was hands down the catamaran cruise. it was a blast. Definitely recommend this property to everyone and will return.

Amazing vacation!

What a delightful trip! Palashia Villa is magical. Our group of 16 was easily accommodated and each room is uniquely special, reminding guests they truly are staying in paradise. Worries and stress were quickly forgotten. There is enough space to accommodate a large group, and common areas promote opportunities for socials and fun. Everyone’s needs were met, above and beyond. Sally, Sonia and Taylor were amazing. Always smiling, they worked very hard, and we enjoyed wonderful meals including a delicious Easter cake. The ladies rum punch is a must! The pool is perfect, and the private beach is one of a kind. Though the Villa can accommodate, Andrew’s Tour Company came highly recommended by friends. Andrew and Warren took us on terrific adventures that included Luminous Lagoon, 9 Mile, Blue Hole, and local shopping. We look forward to returning!!

Vacation

I must say we really enjoyed our stay at Tangerine Villa. We had a group of 11. We were greated at the airport by Denton who provided transportation our entire stay. Very nice and kept saying no worries mon you're on vacation. Upon arrival at the villa we were greated by Mrs. Jackie, Mrs. Nola, and Taylor aka T.I. They were awesome, friendly, approachable, always smiling. Fabian was great too, he arranged several activities for us. The food that was prepared was delicious. During our stay we visited Mystic Mountain, Dunn's River Falls, the craft market, several shopping centers, horse back riding, and sailing with Andrew on the Wet n Wild. We enjoyed all the activities. The boys received sailing lessons from Andrew and Captain Mark. Any issues that arose were immediately addressed. Needless to say we didn't want to leave. Thanks for a great time!!!!

A little piece of heaven

We have visited Jamaica many times. First Negril and then the Jaquar Vllas for the past 3 trips. Highly recommend. There are no surprises. The pictures of the villas are on their website along with local activities and prices. The driver is great - takes you everwhere and is reasonable. This is one of the most beautiful places to stay. Fantastic grounds and truly a most relaxing stay with all the comforts of home. The villa we have rented has always been in pristine condition. Well equipped and beautifully furnished. The staff are the cherry on top of the cake, professional, fun and hard working. Cant say enough about them. Avocados from the trees above your bedroom, limes from the trees by the pool, bananas just within a reach from the front door. Live the life you love !!!

Best villa,gem of the Caribbean

Family Reunion over Christmas Holidaze ! Best trip ever. Tons of things to do for everyone in the group; went to 9 miles, swam under waterfalls, went snorkeling on a glass bottom boat in front of Mick Jaggers house, Jamaica beach party with bon fire and fresh fish dinner was definitely a blast, not to forget kissing dolphins! Even the older folks had their special day at the Cranbrook Gardens, enjoing the beauty of the tropics. The staff deserve a big thank you for all the hard work they put in for making sure our vacation and Christmas was perfect! – thanks so much for all the awesome Jamaican food. Christmas dinner was so special too, could not be better. Christmas in Jamaica is great, the whole island is on Christmas vibes, without any of the stress at home.

First trip to Jamaica but not last!

A big thank you for the warm hospitality! Very memorable week spent at the villa! Our first time in Jamaica. Staff were easy going and always full of smiles - the personal touch and thoughtfulness made us feel welcome and at home. Great service to all! Very impressed by the villa's Zen style design and decor - we got to relax and unwind in abundance of living space. Kitchen very well equipped and a drinking water from the tap was lovely. Bed was spacious and comfy. The huge pool is just right to swim and cool ourselves in a midst the hot weather. The direct connection from the pool to the house is very thoughtful. The outdoor garden added the extra tranquility to our stay. Not to mention the elegant serving for the breakfast. Villa is conveniently located within walking distance from the beach. Tangerine Villa exceeded our expectations in many ways. Highly recommended for holidayers looking to chill out in peace and being spoiled by the lovely staff. We look forward to staying at Jaquar Villas again in our next holiday to Jamaica. Maybe we will try Palashia Villa next time.

We are coming back

A group of 29 coworkers and myself enjoyed 2 weeks of corporate retreat at Jaquar Villas. This property is awesome. The accommodations, yoga pavillion and work space was ideal. Very comfortable and spacious. With a 20 MB fibre internet connection provided as per our request, it was the perfect location for us. Work combined with fun activities, amazing food and dinners during sunsets. The staff and cooks made our stay in Jamaica very special. We were just minutes away from the private beach, golf course, Dunns River Falls, Green Grotto Caves and many other activities. No need to look for an other place for our next year's retreat - we are coming back here !

Successful Corporate Retreat!!

We had a wonderful time as a group of 50, we throughly enjoyed a 3 week corporate retreat here! The size of the villas made it I perfect location for our busy group, as it was quite conducive to both team building and computer work, then later in the evening lots of fun activities. One such activity was a soccer tournament on the beach set up by the wonderful Fabian! The villas are beautiful, the staff took great care of us with all of our meals were delicious and served in the dining room with amazing sunsets. The work space was ideal with lots of room, and the owner helped us get fast speed internet to support our work demands. The management was available to help out with all details of planning our retreat. During time off, we enjoyed trips to the both the Blue Hole and Dunns River waterfalls with swimming and cliff jumping, and a trip to Bob Marley’s birth home and resting place. It was also arranged for us to have a cocktail cruise. We enjoyed pig roast and music by DJ, a yoga instructor and some golfing! Great times!
