About this property
Waterfront Maine cottage! Next to Sebago Lake State Park!
New to VRBO!!!
Enjoy your family getaway in Naples, Maine, at the Crooked Cottage located directly on the Crooked River, uniquely positioned between Sebago Lake and Long Lake, and a bike ride from Sebago Lake State Park. With this unique positioning, you can boat to either lake for a different daily experience. Spend your days on the sandbar on Sebago! Fish, swim, and kayak to your heart's desire, right from your front door. Much more private than lakeside you'll have your own, private grounds giving you the campground feeling with a sandy beach for your family's enjoyment. Play volleyball or badminton, or simply put your tube in the water on one side of the property and float around the peninsula to the other. Your own natural lazy river! (our favorite pastime!) Enjoy your nights around the campfire, under the stars.
Visit the Naples Causeway when you're looking for some excitement. Take the Songo River Queen, rent jet skis or people watch to your heart's desire. SeaCoast Funpark is a short drive away.
Leef peep and hike in the fall, as trails are all around you. In the winter months, you're minutes from the ITS snowmobile trails, country skiing, and snowshoe trails. If downhill skiing is your thing, you've got Pleasant Mountain, Sunday River, and others a short drive away. 45 minutes in either direction will get you to Portland, Maine, or North Conway, NH.
The kitchen is fully functioning with all the appliances and utensils you need. Just bring your food and drinks! Open floor plan with a bar that seats 6, and outdoor dining includes spacious seating on the patio and fire pit. A grill is available.
Other items to note:
Liability waiver: You understand when renting this property that swimming is at your own risk and that special risk may be involved with staying on the riverfront. You accept all responsibility for any bodily injury arising from swimming, docking, or staying on the riverfront and hold the owner harmless. You understand that there are potential dangers that swimming, docks, or staying on the riverfront may present to children who are not carefully supervised. Additionally, there may be dangers if a person has health risks or other physical limitations. You agree to be entirely solely responsible and assume all responsibility for yourself and those in your party. You also waive any claim against owners (s) for accidents or losses and acknowledge that this Liability Waiver constitutes a binding and enforceable contract between yourself and the VRBO Host: no smoking or pets. Swim at your own risk. Please note the river drops off quickly and there is a current, sometimes very slow and sometimes a little quicker.

About the host
Hosted by Angie Brown
Although we are experienced renters, this is our first VRBO and we are excited to share our cottage with you and your family. Our kids love it here, and we know you and yours will love it as much as we do. As lifelong campers, hikers and all around out door people, we can't resist sharing our unique getaway with you.
Why they chose this property
Being on the river is magical. It can only be understood once you've seen the stars on the water at night, and had your coffee outside in the morning. The serenity is exceptional.
What makes this property unique
Most lakeside homes are incredibly close to each other, making it difficult to have privacy. Being on the river is a unique experience that is difficult to match, but most importantly to us, is that we feel like we've got a campground all to ourselves. You have to experience it to understand it's magic. This property is on a peninsula, with one side overlooking the water and unbuildable land on the other side. Making you feel entirely alone with the water and stars. The other side of the peninsula looks across the water to homes and camps of our "neighbors," where their camp lights make me feel like I did as a child camping with my grandparents. Their lights just make me smile. You'll understand when you see it.
