We love this neighborhood! You will be amazed at quiet it is while being able to walk out the door and see the city a few blocks away. A couple of my favorite places for food nearby are Z Best Barbecue and Buford's Kitchen. Pittsburgh has so many options for food so be sure to take a look in the surrounding neighborhoods of Southside, Lawrenceville, and the Strip District!
-There is ample FREE on street parking available with minimal restrictions. -If you are taking advantage of on street parking be sure to pay attention to parking restrictions on Monday and Tuesday during the warm months. -It is possible to walk to various locations including PPG Paints Arena, Downtown, and The Strip District. However, many choose to use ride share apps due to the naturally hilly nature of Pittsburgh.
This apartment does have four exterior steps to enter the building with a single side hand rail on the right side when going up. There are an additional full flights of steps with a single side handrail on the right side when going up.

The apartment was perfect for our needs. Far enough from downtown that we were able to relax but close enough that it took just about 8 mins to get to wherever we needed to go. The host was responsive and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay.
This is a fantastic property. Excellent location- close to downtown, close to Pitt. We stayed for our daughter's graduation. Apartment was spacious, clean, with modern features. Rooftop patio was amazing, though we didn't get to enjoy it much due to the weather. Really liked the new Delonghi espresso maker. While couch was not a pullout, our adult daughter slept on couch and it was very comfortable. Host was great and easy to communicate with. Parking was not a problem. Highly recommend.
The apartment was clean and a great walking distance to ppg paints. I was looking forward to sitting on the roof but the back door didnt open and the side door that had roof access had a large hole in the fire escape which made me question if it was the right way up it was dark by that time and i didnt want to bother the host with that safty concern. The couch was comfy for what it was but if you are sleeping 4 adults I would recommend an airmat. But overall for the price, and ease in the area I would stay again.
My stay was wonderful I loved everything about it, it was very welcoming and homey and comfortable I will be booking again soon

The property was clean. The location was close to the arena. We were scheduled to be there for 3 nights-however, the first night we were woken up at 2am by banging on the doors, women screaming and fighting in the street in their underwear. This went on until 4am. We got no sleep and were exhausted for our event the next day. Concerned for our safety, we ended up leaving and paying more money for a hotel. I sent the owner an email explaining what happened but have not heard anything back. Not an apology for the bad experience or an offer of a refund.
This is a nice little spot with a great view of the city.

I know some peopel are going to call me a snob but here is my review of Grammy's House. First, there are things that I can't hold against the property, but future renter's should be aware. The location is pretty sketchy and we didn't feel completely safe in the area because at least two different streets on just a block or two from the location were completly roped off with police tape. Second, the walls were so thin that we could hear the our neighbors TV. Now, what I do hold the property accountable for. Again, I felt super unsafe because there was no deadbolt on the door. The only lock was an unreliable lock in the doorknob that wasn't able to be locked from the inside. You had to put in the code from the outside and then close the door. Second, only 1 outlet in the bedroom worked. All others didn't work. Lastly, the bed was awful. It was one of those super old mattresses where you can feel the springs through the top of the mattress. Also, I'm a super light sleeeper and I woke up several times because I could hear the springs in the bed as I moved around in my sleep. Lastly, I'm not super happy about the owners message asking us to clean the place on the way out. I will pick up as a basic courtesy, but I'm being charged a 65 cleaning fee so I should have to do the dishes or take out the trash. Basically, I paid the same price as I pay for a decent hotel where you don't have to do chores on the way out and this place didn't compare. I'll use a hotel next time
Great neighborhood and walking distance from downtown. I learned Pittsburgh is not flat like Indiana. Once I got comfortable on the balcony I didn’t move much, great hangout spot.
This was my third time in Pittsburgh and my wife's first. We LOVED our stay. We've stayed at many places around the world, and this was one of our favourites! Clean, comfortable and cozy! Loved the back patio and location. Chalk board fun too! Thanks for an excellent experience. cozy!comfortablecocomfort

Historic Pittsburgh Neighborhood
Property is in an older building in an historic Pittsburgh neighborhood. Outside a little sketchy but the apartment has been very well remodeled. It is very spacious. Great private, outside deck. Everything in working order. Visitors should know that the location is purely residential; there are no commercial services of any kind within walking distance. No grocery, coffee shop etc. OK if you have a car. Street parking is free and very available. Owner very responsive.
Not clean, poorly maintained property, unsafe steep stairs with hand rail coming away from the wall. Only stayed 3 days out of the 7 days we booked.Could not recommend this property.
We have been living in the Pittsburgh area since 2014 and have enjoyed experiencing the city through sporting events, local restaurants, and community offerings. Outside of Pittsburgh we love to travel and experience new cities and cultures whenever possible. Hosting travelers has been an amazing way to share our love of Pittsburgh with people from all over the world. We will be available 24/7 via text if you need any help during your stay!
Why they chose this property
This neighborhood is quiet and residential! It allows you to be close to the excitement of the city but enjoy the quiet offered by a suburb at night. This apartment is minutes from PPG Paints Arena, Duquesne University, and all Downtown hotspots. There is amazing dining nearby including our favorites; Gaucho Parrillia Argentina and The Speckled Egg.
