Great time in Grand Rapids. House size was great for four adults. Property could use some updates, but communication with owner was easy and house had everything we needed as we ate out most meals and really only slept there.
I booked this for a bachelor party and it was very accommodating for our group. Everything was clean and if we needed anything we were able to reach out at any time. Great stay and would highly recommend.
We stayed here as part of a company trip. This place worked great for my group. Lots of great dining locations nearby as well! We'll be looking for this place for further trips in the area.
Overall a positive experience with Ruben. Home was as advertised, with plenty of accommodations for our large group. Street parking was a little tight for multiple cars, but definitely manageable. Quiet and well kept neighborhood, close to downtown. Home was clean and was well appointed, but did have a dampness smell to it that went away with the windows open and AC units on, really the only downside to our stay. Overall a positive experience for our group.

Work in Progress
As this seems to be a newer listing, I sent a private message to the owner and hopefully they address a few concerns I had during my stay. Once addressed, I feel this property will get higher ratings and an increase in stays.

Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness
The house did its job
It kept the rain off our heads, the window AC units did their job (although noisy) and the keypad entry was easy. However, the house is not is great condition. Thermostats hanging off the walls, no dish towels, no wash clothes, sloppy updates, coffee left in the coffee pot, dirty dish rag, low shower heads (5' high upstairs), limited plates and only plastic bowls. Only 1 mile to the Zoo and Ford Museum which is why we were in town.
Overall my group had a wonderful stay. We brought bicycles and found the location to be a fantastic jumping off spot for seeing and experiencing the city. There's lots of street parking and neighbors are friendly.
The listing is accurate, 2 bathrooms with showers & 4 bedrooms each with a queen bed. There's a large L-Shaped couch in the livingroom. We slept 1-2 people per bedroom and 2 on the couch. For groups that don't want to share queen beds, there would be plenty of room to set up an air mattress if desired but I don't believe this is provided onsite.
We also really enjoyed sitting on the covered side patio/porch area that overlooks a large vegetable garden. It was really pleasant! A lot of folks in the neighborhood were sitting on their porches in the afternoons/evenings, giving it a nice feel.
We needed space, and this house had 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Other than that, there were no mattress covers, very basic appointments and supplies, and a sparsely furnished house. No rugs or carpets anywhere.
The upstairs bathroom shower head was below adult level.
The yard was not mowed and trimmed, and there was no hand rail for the front steps.
Very noisy neighborhood with all night partying. We got no sleep. (This was not the host’s fault, but if you love quiet, this is not the right house.)
To be honest, the exterior condition of the home & yard had us nervous to see what awaited us inside, but when we entered we were pleasantly surprised. The house is HUGE. Nice sized dining room, living room & kitchen. Each bedroom was adequate for 2 adults with big suitcases and they all had closets as well. The downstairs bathroom was great, but the upper was quaint (the shower head stood at about 5ft off the floor) & we found it best to spread out showers so that we didn't run out of hot water.
As for the downside.. with such a big house we were sad to see that it only really slept 8 people comfortably - even though we booked for 10 people. Each of the 4 bedrooms had a queen/full sized bed, which resulted in two of our guests having to sleep on the couch in the living room. In hindsight there was plenty of room for air mattresses. The host could add another queen bed, trundle bed, or pullout couch in the living room and that would go a long way for parties of 10+.
Finally, perhaps the best part about this house was the location. Just a 2-minute drive or 10 minute walk to the heart of the downtown district. Easy on & off the highway and plenty of room for parking.
