The house was perfect for a large group. All bedrooms except 2 had a connected bathrooms. The driveway is a bit steep and some had to park in a parking area at the top of the driveway. Location is walkable to Hiawassee which is a lovely little town.
The cabin is somehow huge and cozy at the same time. The views from almost every room were amazing. The wraparound deck and porches provided anything you wanted at any given moment. You can sit quietly and enjoy the view, or go fishing or play ping pong on the screened porch or gather in the outside den of the other screened porch. It was all just amazing. It’s very family friendly but bring a baby gate. The kitchen is well-stocked with anything you need to cook a large family meal. And, to top it off, the host was amazing and responded VERY quickly to my text. This is definitely our new favorite place in the mountains!

Lodge Family Retreat
Wonderful Family Home with 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. The decor is lodge style and a bit outdated but accommodated our large family nicely. The location on the lake is busy which makes the dock rock a lot, but we were able to deal with it. Nice fire- pit for roasting s'mores and hanging out. There were some issues with a few things but Chatuge Home Concierge attended to our needs in a timely manner. Overall for a large group of people it's a great home.
This property feels like a family home generously shared. The decor was fascinating and we wanted to know the stories connected with many pieces. It looked like someone who lived an interesting life had lived there. Our large family loved staying at this very comfortable home, and the quick response to any of our questions related to property or procedures was definitely appreciated.
Beautiful house that was 59°F upon arrival. We arrived at 4:30 PM and the trash it’s still not been collected. Potato chips were on the floor. For the premium price we paid over the holiday, I expected better. We were in town for my mom’s funeral.

Dan, I'm so sorry for the reasoning for your trip. There is no price gouging going on here. You knew what the price was before you booked and had the opportunity to stay somewhere else. We do strive to make each guest stay a 5 star review. We did have guest leave the same day of your arrival. The trash route was ran on the day of your check-in and was picked up shortly after your arrival. I cant imagine that this hindered your stay in any way. The housekeepers did have the thermostat lowered while they were working but it was set in the 60's, with 3 thermostats the house heats up very fast. Its unfortunate that you couldn't have mentioned that the house was spotless(which it was) except for the 1 chip the housekeeper dropped on the way out.
We planned a Family Reunion for the immediate family with 15 of us filling the Lakeside Home. We never felt crowded. The large kitchen and recreation rooms provided plenty of room to spread out or have family get togethers. The 4 girls ages 10 - 16 loved the bunk bed room and the 3 master bedrooms worked well for older adults providing privacy and comfort. The others spread out in rooms of their choice. The dock was more than adequate for docking the boat and water toys while providing a safe swimming point for the kids. The hot tub was clean and in constant use. The fire pit was a hit with smores being toasted in evenings by the lake. The location was perfect and restaurants plentiful with good food and service. We sited deer and even a bear as we hiked in some nearby trails. We only had one glitch in our stay and the management company was very responsive. A water heater failed and they had a plumber out and fixed the problem the same day. As we all went back to homes as far away as Texas and as close as Florida, we all recounted the many unforgettable memories made in the Georgia Mountains. It was the perfect place for a week away from home.

The house was in a great area and had superb views of the lake. We loved being able to immerse ourselves outside and relax with the sounds of nature.
The home itself is pretty dated, but bustles with cabin-styled decor which is standard with lake houses.
The kitchen was stocked, but could be better stocked for those who planned to cook at the home their entire stay. (ie more pots and pans or cutting boards)
Main Bathroom downstairs had standing water in the shower and seemed to be clogged.
Bathroom in the single bedroom downstairs didn’t have any water pressure and essentially dripped water.
Rusty nails were found all over the deck on the main level.
The house was extremely hot when we first came in and took hours to cool down - which is okay, but recommend turning on the AC a few of hours before guests arrive.
Recommend adding more chairs by fire pit and potentially some chairs on the deck too.
Overall, our family enjoyed our stay and really loved being surrounded by nature + Lake Chatuge!
Wonderful property. Will likely try to book again next year for the LDWeekend. Clean, spacious and beautiful. The steepness and angles of the driveway are a little challenging with multiple cars, but plenty of parking at the top.
Here’s a polished version that keeps your positive tone while making it read more smoothly:I revised your review for clarity and flow:We had a wonderful stay at this home. It’s spacious, with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, and it worked out very well for our group. The view was beautiful. The only drawback was that some basic supplies, such as toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap, were not provided. We also made the owners aware of a few items that needed repair.Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay here again.
