Lake life with kids and dog
My wife and I stayed here with our three kids and dog. It was a great and charming property with plenty of room for a larger party. The kitchen and grill gear we’re top notch so we are all our meals at home. There were lots of games for the kids and fun historical memorabilia to check out. The dock sits in shallow water so we had to pole the boat we rented in and out but it wasn’t a big deal and I’m sure more experienced boaters would be fine.
Lovely fun location in a cove of lake burton. The cleaning person had left a tablecloth with food from the prior guests, which was odd. The washer had some mold that I cleaned before using. But those are tiny issues I only ,emotion because of the “cleanliness” star...couldn’t give a 5 for cleanliness....but all else was clean and tidy. It was a lovely older home in the wonderful lake burton.
HOH on Burton
Spacious, quiet, and comfortable. Large kitchen to enjoy cooking and visiting with our friends and family. Just a heads up the oven is awesome but needs to come with instructions! A little tricky to figure out but works well once you get the hang of it. Owner was easy to communicate with and responded quickly too. I’d give 4.5 stars overall if I could. Just a little cluttered for me personally though.
Enjoyed our stay!
Home Away from Home
Our family LOVED this house. It was so warm and inviting and the Kitchen (WOW), a dream gourmet set up. Originally our group was to be larger but we ended up being just the immediate family of 6 adults with a one year old. We had tons of room to spread out. The Pros were: Location, was very peaceful and quiet and we used the boat dock for the pontoon boat we rented. Had a camp fire one night & made smores. The Kitchen: We cook with gas at home so the 6 burner gar stove was better than my own. And 4 ovens with choices was so unexpected. The extra fridge downstairs was a much needed plus. We enjoyed reading all the old Camp history throughout the house and all the cute memorabilia. Everything felt so warm and inviting. The 2 separate screened in porches were great places to get away and read a book. The Master BR & Bath was another great retreat. The only Con for us was that as we have aged and spread out a little it would have been great to have a few larger beds. Although the beds that were there were comfortable. We've rented houses around Lake Burton off and on for many years We definitely hope to return to this house again and again. It has become our favorite.
We had a great time!
Great house in the lake.
Family friendly and welcoming home!
We were looking for a cabin getaway to enjoy the Christmas holidays with grown children and the family dog. This place suited us perfectly. Plenty of room in the gourmet kitchen for many hands to get involved. There weren’t many restaurants open in the area this time of year but we knew that before we headed up. There’s plenty of room on the property to wander around and the nearby road is quiet enough for afternoon walks. Was approx a 20 minute drive to Helen if you’re looking for something to do. The common rooms of the house are cozy and comfortable. Great place to play board games. All the bedrooms had character and personality and there are many screened in porches. Lots of history and memorabilia hanging on the walls. Would highly recommend for families and anybody looking to escape the city for awhile. Hoping to make our next visit there a summer one so we can enjoy the lake and seasonal activities.
