Just two steps from parking, the main level welcomes you with an open-concept living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cozy gas fireplace—all framed by picture windows showcasing the majestic Big Bald on the Appalachian Trail.

It was the perfect place for a ladies weekend! The road up is a little daunting, but the house is so worth it! The views were amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed sipping coffee while watching the sunrise over the mountains. The kitchen and the entertainment room had everything we needed to stay in but we did venture out one afternoon to enjoy nearby Mars Hill, which is lovely and charming. The hot tub and fire pit were a perfect way to end each day. We had a wonderful time!

Great family friendly stay

We did a long weekend here and had a great time. Plenty of space for everyone, lots to do and a great location to different hikes and attractions. The host was very responsive and helpful! Everything was very clean and the house/view was beautiful. My family and I had a great time. Definitely recommend.

This cabin was the perfect place for our girls trip getaway. Everything was well stocked, the hosts were very responsive and we had plenty of room. The views are spectacular too. It's about 40 min to Asheville, or about anything. There is a cute little general store and eatery just outside the neighborhood though. You can tell this place is well loved and will continue to be for many years. It was just wonderful.

The house was incredible and had everything we needed for our family of 5 plus two pups. The view from the deck was stunning and great to drink coffee on in the morning and sip bourbon on at night. Kids had a blast in the game room, even though they couldn’t beat me in shuffleboard! Mike and Rachel were fantastic hosts with great communication. Would highly recommend this house for your next trip. And if you do go would also recommend tubing down the French Brd River at Mad Co Tubing. Our kiddos range from 5 to 11 years old and they absolutely loved that adventure. Will definitely do that again next time we are in the area!

Great family vacation home!

This was a great property! We had a wide age range of family members. And there was something here for everyone to keep occupied, and bond together. Amazing view, quiet community, and great floor plan. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed plus some. Our hosts were very thoughtful and definitely understanding of what a family needs to survive a vacation together without having to pack or run to the store a million times for basic necessities. We will definitely be back. Thanks to our wonderful hosts!

Business Retreat

Me and other members of the creative team I employ stayed at this property for a weekend creative planning retreat. The property was a FANTASTIC set-up to get work done and enjoy time together to bond and become a stronger team. The downstairs seating and TV allowed us to work together while notes were broadcast on the TV while another coworker prepared meals for us upstairs. We enjoyed board games and the downstairs pool table, firepit and hottub in the evenings and left feeling like we accomplished a ton of goals. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Cabin/Mountain family trip!

We drove up to the mountains from Orlando, FL. This cabin is at the top of the hill with a bunch of other cabins. It is a beautiful place and awesome cabin. It has everything you need for the kitchen, bathroom, etc. this place has a jacuzzi, fire pit, pool table, and shuffleboard. It was super spacious and easily held the 8 of us. 6 adults 2 kids. If this wasn’t so far from Orlando about 10 hours driving we would come back regularly. Overall this was 5 star, the host Mike was also very quick in responses. We would 100% stay here again if we are coming up that way.

The views were absolutely breathtaking. The houses along this mountain top look like ski chalets and are very close to the Hartley Pointe ski area. There is a nearby lodge that is not currently being used but it does not take away from the beauty of the area or the serenity of the mountains. The home is as described, with all the amenities you would need. We thoroughly enjoyed the week to disconnect and rediscovered our love of pool, and Galaga (yes they have an old school video game table) and eating outdoors. The home is comfortable and restful, exactly what we were looking for. Had some of the best nights sleep in a long while. Took long walks through some deceivingly hilly roads but loved every moment.The one thing I observed is that in all the areas we visited, there was sheer gratitude at visitors returning to the area. There were many areas absolutely devastated from Hurricane Helene and they have made remarkable progress, but there is a lot more work to do. Side note - the area of this cabin did not seem to be affected and we had no problems navigating and accessing the cabin. Reminder that you must drive through and up curvy steep mountain roads so prepare accordingly. The hosts were super responsive with a minor issue that popped up and resolved it immediately. They were a pleasure to work with and we would happily stay here again.

Family Christmas

We were a group of nine people ages 16 and above. It’s a three-story house. It only requires two steps to get up into the house and there’s a main level bedroom for anyone who has mobility issues. This is a king bed with its own bathroom. The view is wonderful. The kitchen is well equipped. I would say that it had most everything that you would need. We cooked all our meals and was able to manage with the facilities. I especially appreciate the fact that they had the house decorated for Christmas. I was delighted to find a Christmas tree with lights and all When I arrived. Be aware that the typical directions that take you up to the ski lodge is closed. You have to take the alternate route, which is winding and narrow. I would hate to take that road and icy or snowy conditions we were lucky and that it was not snowing , the direction say no four-wheel-drive vehicle needed. However, if it truly is snowing hard and icy, the road would be treacherous and it may be difficult for you to get to the house or leave the house. It’s a 2 mile road that winds up the mountain. There was room for four smaller cars to park in front of the house. If the ski resort is still closed it’s very easy to just park across the street in the parking lot for the ski resort. If the resort is open, I’m not sure how that would work. Overall, we really enjoyed our time. Be aware that it is 23 minutes to the nearest full service grocery store in Mars Hill.

What a great spot. The view is simply amazing. I believe the area is known for fog, and WOW, if you are fortunate enough to see it when it rolls in, it’s just magical. Location is great, far enough from Asheville but at the same time, close enough. The towns nearby are pretty cool as well. The cabin is spacious, well laid out and has everything you will ever need… We loved it!
