This is a one of a kind, quiet, and gorgeous Studio; professionally decorated with Pier1 Furnishings and Local Artwork. New paint, tasty decor, and an Ocean/Garden view, create a soothing, colorful, and pleasant way to unwind at the end of the day. Split AC, keeps you cool when the tradewinds rarely stop, but there's almost always a great island breeze permeating the condo. Being a corner unit, there are twice as many windows for those who want natural ventilation. I fixed it up to MY tastes and lived in it for a couple years, so it is not the typical vacation rental. It really feels like home with quality amenties instead of cheap disposable touristy furnishings.
There's (2) Swimming Pools, each with (2) Gas BBQ grills. - The large pools offer hours of tanning, swimming, and outdoor cooking with friends and family. Lots of chaise lounges and a shower provided at the pools, as well as beach towels from the condo. The Tennis-Pickleball court is also popular. A dedicated parking stall is included.

This condo is hotel-zoned.

Newly remodeled Full Kitchen and Bathroom offer a Full-Sized Fridge, Dishwasher, LG Full-Sized Washer/Dryer (instead of the tiny Thin-Twin Stacked ones that won't accommodate a bedspread), Microwave, Gas Stove\Oven, Coffee Maker, Rice Cooker, and all the cooking and serving wares you'll need. The lanai provides a great place to enjoy your dinner and glass of wine, or that morning cup of coffee while you awaken to the delightful sounds of the many species of tropical birds, with a gentle, medicinal breeze. Ocean View, and Lush Tropical Foliage can be enjoyed from the Lanai, and a view of the West Maui Mtns. Serta Perfect Sleeper Queen Bed will provide hours of much needed sleep a long flight or all-day Whale Watching Dinner Cruise. Year round average 85 Degree temps will bask you in warmth and make you forget all your troubles as soon as you put away your belongings. Everything you'll need is here, so just bring something to swim in, or play pickleball in. Many great shops and restaurants are super close by if you'd like to sample some Hawaiian culinary treats, or add to your wardrobe. The Shops of Wailea are 5 minutes away, as well as World Class Golf Courses. Any activity you can imagine is readily available too.

Super Fast-Internet and Cable TV are provided. Double-paned Solid Windows & Doors keep noise and dirt out and the cool air in. No Jalousie windows. Custom Entertainment Ctr/Closet/Drawers offer ample storage for your belongings, and is built to perfectly house the TV.

This was the perfect condo for our stay. There were two of us and we found it was just enough room for us and our stuff. It was very easy to find the place as well as check in. Perfect location for all activities and dining. Kitchen was also fully stocked with anything you would need.

Everything was as stated. We loved the location. Easy access to the beach, places to eat, places to purchase supplies. Daniel was so easy to work with. Loved the beach chairs and umbrella which made out beach day so much more enjoyable. Although we didn't do any cooking, it was well stocked if we had chosen to go that route.

Perfect Maui Homebase

This was our first time visiting Kihei, and Daniel's place was just what we were hoping for! Centrally located to the beach, shops, and restaurants, but also quiet & peaceful for our re-charging time at home. A lovely studio that we would be happy to visit in the future!

A perfect place

The place is next to a beatiful beach park where there are showers, a rest room and lifeguards. The room is clean, quiet and has everyting you need for a great vacation. The host, Daniel, was extremely accomidating. We arrived in Maui in the early morning and left in the evening. Daneil allowed us to check in early and stayed late in the place. Thank you very much Daneil!

Small, but well equipped and maintained unit with everything one would need. Had a little trouble getting the cable TV fired up, but worked flawlessly once it was figured out. The host Daniel was very responsive and helpful. My only complaint would be a noisy rooster crowing at 3:45 AM, but that’s beyond anyone’s control. I would recommend the unit and would return again for sure!

Amazing spot in the middle of everything.

Clean and Cozy, Good Location, Lots of amenities

Thank you very much for providing your place to stay on our trip through Maui! Our schedule was very busy, so we did not spend much time in the local area, but the room was very cozy, it had a nice bed and was very clean. Having accessibility to the chairs, blankets, snorkel, cooler, and toiletries was extremely convenient and much appreciated.

Awesome

We were extremely happy with our rental, Daniel was great with all interactions and we would definitely stay again. The rental was just what we needed for the two of us. We loved the privacy of the lanai and the plants and birds were wonderful. The local restaurants within walking distance were great. The beaches across the street were easily accessible and we saw whales, turtles, and awesome sunsets.

Calm, like the islands

Both the apt. and condo property are pleasant and tastefully decorated. Great beach across the road, cafes, and shops. I appreciated the calm, garden view of Daniel's end unit. Treetops, birds and a glimpse of the ocean! A great place to enjoy Maui.

Excellent vacation rental, perfect setting, great value

This little studio was the best home away from home we rented on Maui! It was clean, updated, and Dan provided pretty much everything we needed: towels, boogie boards, iron, dishes, etc. Everything works perfectly and we did not even need to run the air because of the condo's location and the winds. The location was great - close to everything. We had a car because we wanted to explore, but you really dont need one if you stay here. We have no complaints and will definitely rent here again when we come back. Thanks Dan for everything!

Great South Kihei Spot

A nice, clean, well-equipped little apartment, perfectly situated at the south end of Kihei, and suitable for an individual or couple who don't require excessive space. I enjoyed the garden view from the 2nd floor lanai and the regular 'wake-up call' from the winged wildlife - some of it not so 'wild'. I much appreciated the thoughful preparation and the stock of 'essentials' that not all owners provide, as well as the internet, beach chairs, pool, BBQ, etc. The owner was helpful and courteous, and the building was well run. If ocean-view and ultra-modern are must-haves, then look elsewhere, but this is a perfect place for those content with traditional Maui accomodations and don't mind walking a few steps to see the ocean. The location was excellent, oppostie K2 beach, with enough shops and eateries within walking distance to keep you alive. SpeediShuttle will drop you off right at the building from the airport, but I would recommend a car for any sightseeing and trips to Safeway, the farmer's market, etc. I would certainly consider a repeat visit to one of Daniel's well-run apartments.

Clean, Quiet, Central and Overall Great Location!

It was our first time in Maui and Daniel's condo had everything we needed (beach equipment, towels, iron, washer/dryer etc). He was also very accessible via email and got back to us right away if we had a question or concern about anything condo or Maui related! Free WiFi helped us share pictures with family and friends back home and a phone for long distance calls/local calls was great for emergencies or making reservations. It was a very well-kept, clean, quiet - overall beautiful studio. The view of the mountains at sunrise were stunning! Even though it would be considered South Maui, it was central to most places. Anything you need is just down Kihei and you are just a few steps away from the beach. It has a very local atmosphere (nothing like being at a hotel, meaning you'll definitely feel like you live there), we were mistaken to be locals several times! The only downside to the condo was that the room was located near the doors to the staircase (condo on the second floor), therefore every time someone left our floor the door would slam closed and we could hear it every single time - but it's a VERY SMALL concern considering you'd most likely spend most of your time outside the condo!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Maui, especially first timers. We would for sure rent from Daniel again if and when we decide to go back to Maui! Mahalo Daniel!

Just Right!

Daniel's studio in the Kihei Akahi complex was exactly as advertised. Clean, well-equipped and convenient. Daniel was always reachable and pleasant (even to answer questions which were clearly answered on the front of the refrigerator). We've been to Maui many times over the years and have generally stayed at Kamaole Sands and the Alii Kai This was our first stay at KA. The facility itself is well-appointed. (Of particular import, the barbecues at the two pools are new and work great.) In the condo itself we particularly liked the breeze so many others have mentioned. In our two week stay we never even considered using the AC. Just opened up the lanai sliding door and voila!, -a fresh breeze clearing out the condo in seconds. One thing to consider if you're not an early riser. The myna birds in the trees outside the lanai will be up every morning at 0530. They squawk and carry on until 0600 and then are gone (out to create mischief throughout Kihei I'm sure). This repeats every day at 1800 or so, but only lasts for a 30 minutes or so. If you're a light sleeper, or don't want to be the first to the beach everyday (like us), you might want to bring earplugs. :-) All in all, a great stay. Thanks Daniel! -Jon and Laurie Seattle

Our host Daniel was very welcoming and provided all the information we needed to check in and check out quickly, which helped us have less stress when arriving and departing. The room was clean, had a suitable air conditioner, and was as described online, so we really enjoyed our stay. It is at a great location as it is within walking distance to some beaches, shops and restaurants, and is within short driving distance for most activities on the island of Maui. We had a fantastic time!

Daniel's studio was just what we needed for 2 adults who wanted to be able to do laundry and have easy parking in a close to beaches location. Beaches are at the end of the block and walkable. Plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, ice cream, bars (one with nightly live music), the cinnamon roll place etc. While we found ourselves in the West Maui area more often, we really loved the South Kiehi area (where Daniel's studio is). From a woman's perspective, I loved that the property's hair dryer had a 'cool' setting. When you're somewhere where it's always hot, but you still want to be able to dry your hair, this was a much better hair dryer than I've had in other places. I know it's a minor thing, but it made me happy. He also had a fan in the bathroom. Also, uniquely, this is the first VRBO property were the host had flashlights available. I really appreciated this also, just in case! I actually used one to walk from where the location is on the property to the street at night. The only negative I can think of is I would have a better lit parking area. The assigned car spot is in the back corner, the darkest part of the lot. But I was never alone so this was not a huge deal. Mahalo to Daniel!

I had a great stay. The condo in a great location, south end of Kihei, easy to get in an out of and quick to the highway. The unit had all the essentials, plus beach towels, chairs, etc. Easy walk to the beach park, lots of restaurant options within a 10 minute walk.

At one time I owned 3 condos in this Kihei Akahi complex. I did the short-term rental thing for about 14 years before selling 2 of them. I kept this studio because it out-rented all 3. After Covid, I moved into it myself for a couple years, so I added lots of upgrades for my own enjoyment. I trust you'll appreciate them too!

Why they chose this property

Kihei Akahi has long been established as one, if not THE finest complex in South Kihei. Beautifully landscaped grounds, lush foliage, tennis courts ( I used to be semi-good YEARS ago), very clean units, pools, spacious parking, and great security. Right across the street from the finest Beaches in South Maui and very near great shopping and restaurants.

What makes this property unique

Many people comment on their love for the tropical birds that come alive when the sun comes up in the morning. Nature's own alarm clock. Much better than the one that gets you up for work every day back home.
Some unique features and major upgrades not found in most condos in the complex are . . . Solid Windows and Doors (no jalousies), Spilt AC (only studio in the complex with this), Dishwasher (very few Studios have one), Custom Closet/Drawers/Entertainment Ctr (most units have sliding mirrored closet doors) - built to house the LG 55" 4K Smart TV. Full-Size LG Washer/Dryer (most units, even 1&2 BR's, have the tiny stacked Whirlpool W/D's which won't wash a bedspread or more than a few beach towels at once).
