About the host
Hosted by Gia Nicole Palacorolla
HELLO There! I moved to the OBX from Ellicott City, MD in 2013. I studied Human Nutrition, Foods & Exercise with an emphasis on Exercise & Health Promotion at Virginia Tech & put that knowledge to work on a daily basis as a Pilates Instructor at the only classical Pilates Studio in the OBX, The Presidio of Pilates! In addition to my education, my love for business & entrepreneurial spirit led me to Hosting! I Co-host multiple spaces in locations throughout the United States and as a Professional Referrer of hosting, I take great joy in teaching folks how to start their own business hosting by themselves or with assistance. I have taught a course at the local church - The Path To Financial Freedom! I LOVE to TRAVEL - so reach out if you would like me to teach a course in YOUR hometown in the US or Internationally!
Things that bring me great joy:
1. My relationships with my K9 Medusa, kitties Oli & Sassy, close friends & family, clients & guests!
2. Water (referring to all large bodies of water....not the beverage! ;)
3. Beach walks & Podcasts!
4. Meditation
5. Pilates
6. Quotes!!
I am grateful for every guest, & potential new host, I correspond with! I look forward to hosting YOU, your loved ones, and many more in the months and years to come...truly a labor of love! Should you need assistance in hosting your own property, I would be delighted to help you with that AS WELL!
Travel quotes that inspire:
~A good traveler has no fixed plans, & is not intent on arriving.
Laozi
~Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends but is played out over & over again in the quietest chambers, that the mind can never break off from the journey.
Pat Conroy
~All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.
Martin Buber
~Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, & that has made all the difference.
Robert Frost
~Remember that happiness is a way of travel - not a destination.

Why they chose this property
Visitors to coastal North Carolina will most likely cross the Intracoastal Waterway during some portion of their expedition, and there's a good chance that they'll cross this massive water route multiple times. Extending all the way from the northern region of the country to the Gulf Coast, the waterway, which began as an essential trade route for shipping companies, is now more commonly used as a recreational trail for North Carolina sailors and boaters who want to explore the depth of the East Coast without straying too far from the Atlantic beaches.
The Outer Banks runs parallel to the waterway, and visitors who venture inland to explore the small towns of the Inner Banks will come in contact with the waterway on a regular basis. Lined with shops, marinas, and waterfront restaurants, and busy on warm summer days with maritime traffic in the middle of a 3,000 mile trip, or just local boaters out for an afternoon cruise, the Intracoastal Waterway is a unique portion of the Outer Banks region, and definitely worth a visit for maritime lovers of all varieties.
