About this property

Cozy, 4-season Log Cabin on Lake w/ Hot Tub, Outdoor adventure at your doorstep

The Tiny Log Cabin is a tastefully renovated, cozy 4 season cottage built in 1947. No matter the season, there are tons of outdoor activities nearby - snowmobiling and ATV trails at your doorstep, hiking/cycling trails, cross-country skiing, paddling, beaches, fishing, & more!

FREE ALGONQUIN PARK PASS INCLUDED. Please contact us to reserve your day pass.

THE SPACE:

Our cabin is small, but packed with amenities to make you feel at home.

The kitchen is fully equipped. We provide tea & coffee, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, and spices. Being a small space, there is no dining table but you can use the 3 stools at the breakfast bar, the couch, or gather outside at the outdoor dining area, if weather permits.

Rogers 5G Wifi, 55” TV with a Roku box (in Guest Mode) to log in with your own streaming accounts. Board games and books for rainy days. Propane fireplace to keep you warm in the winter. We do not have A/C but the place is well insulated and we offer portable fans during hot months.

The bathroom has a heated floor and glass shower. We offer eco-friendly toiletries (e.g., soap, shampoo, body wash) and laundry detergent. Bath towels included are for indoors only. Bring your own beach towels for the hot tub and lake.

Outdoors is where you’ll spend most of your time. Hot tub, sunrises and stargazing on the dock, wildlife watching from the deck, large fire pit, BBQ with propane, and hammocks (seasonal). There is a kayak, canoe, and paddle board (with adult/child life jackets) to explore the lake from late May to Oct. Note - the dock is removed in October (exact date depends on the weather).

Driveway is large enough to fit multiple vehicles, including your snowmobiles and boat.

THINGS TO NOTE:

1. We are in close proximity to our neighbors. The deck and backyard are visible to the neighbors on one side (the other is fully covered by trees). They aim to be respectful of our guests' privacy, but we understand this might not be ideal for those looking for total seclusion.

2. The hill from the parking to the cabin is a bit steep, so please be aware if you have any small children, physical limitations, or large baggage. It is maintained and sanded in the winter, but it can still get slippery, so be careful.

3. During the winter, a 4WD or at least a vehicle with snow tires is strongly recommended to avoid potentially getting stuck in the parking area uphill. Do not attempt to park downhill.

4. The water around the dock is shallow and a bit weedy, though we try our best to maintain it. We recommend water shoes for swimming. The water has a sandy and gradual slope to enter, or you can take the paddleboard to the middle of the lake and swim from there.

5. We are close to the army base and you will occasionally hear some loud noises in the distance during trainings. Occasionally you hear faint traffic noise from the highway, depending on what direction the wind is blowing.

6. The Free public boat launch on Corry Lake is a short drive away at the Petawawa Research Forest. There is also a boat launch at the Deep River marina ($10 for a day slip).

7. We live in bear country and for this reason, it is common for people to own dogs, including our direct neighbours on both sides. There are no fences between properties, meaning that there is a chance that one of our neighbour’s dogs (who are friendly) may briefly wander onto the property, although their owners do try to keep their dogs on their side.

Amazing little spot!
We spent the weekend at the Tiny Log Cabin and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. It was just what we needed - quiet, cozy with perks! The fire was going when we walked in which was a beautiful welcome. The cabin itself was so tastefully decorated and immaculate. We took advantage of the hot tub and the fire pit. The ideas left for things to do were great. We went to the Alpaca farm and took in some sightseeing in the area. The hosts were absolutely wonderful to deal with. Reachable, helpful and friendly. Highly recommend. We will definitely book here again.

True TLC retreat
This cabin and the service is exactly as described. If you reading every note carefully and if you scroll every picture and thinking "let's go", you won't be disappointed. Holly and Thomas are amazing and diligent hosts and they manage your expectations before arrival extremely well. They treat their guests the way they would expect to be treated in luxury retreats with the 'stay-at-home' feel. Every detail is thought through and you feel comfortable and cozy even when the first snow comes. It felt like Christmas at Halloween. Hoping to visit again during warmer months, to enjoy the lake and longer days. We stayed for 5 days and left relaxed and recharged with our hearts full!!

Beautifully decorated cottage with locally-sourced goodies in a gorgeous location. Would love to return and highly recommend the tiny cabin to everyone! (With two bedrooms, it's not even as tiny as you might expect.) All the little touches made this such a lovely escape. The fireplace was on waiting for us when we arrived from the rain. If we had stayed in the summer, we totally would have taken advantage of the canoe, SUP or kayak on the property. Our host Holly was very communicative throughout our visit to ensure we had everything we need, including a day pass to Algonquin Park. She will also be making a revision to their guest book with tips for the hot tub (we didn't know how to get it out of sleep mode). Cannot say enough good things about this place and our caring hosts.

Hi - we're Holly & Thomas. It’s nice to meet you! Travel is the oxygen that keeps us breathing. Our passion is for local inspired travel that supports small communities and businesses, as well as reducing our eco- footprint. We love all things outdoor adventure with our pup Kiwi - hiking, paddling, skiing, you name it.

Why they chose this property

We came across this cabin by total fluke, but we are so glad we found it. It is surrounded by nature and so peaceful. Tucked away but still close to many outdoor adventures! There's adventure to be had all year around. The lake is only 7 km long and not heavily populated with cottages, but we prefer it that way. This means that the lake is pretty quiet with minimal boat traffic, which makes it a great place for paddling.

What makes this property unique

Our cabin is truly a home away from home. Every time we stay here, we feel like we are where we belong. It also makes it very hard to leave! It is a small cabin, but a very welcoming space that is intimate.
