About this property

Peaceful farmhouse, Fabulous view!

About this space
Beautiful New England farmhouse in a quiet location, surrounded by fields and forests! This historic home is truly a treasure-elegant but casual- the perfect place for your family to relax after a day exploring the area. Access to hiking trails right from the property. Enjoy gorgeous mountain views from the spacious porch or have a fire in the backyard. Fully furnished with period pieces and some very comfy new beds. Rural area but still close to conveniences and many attractions.
The space
This wonderful place, "Sky Meadow", sits on many acres of fields and forest. The Ice Gulch hiking trail goes right past the barn into the woods. The original farmhouse was built in the late 1800's and the new (west) section was added on later. The whole place used to sit up by the road, close to the barn, as was typical in New England, and was moved in the 1960's. Quaint and charming are words that past guests have used to describe it.
Guest access
Guests have access to the whole house and entire grounds while you are here. (5 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, dining room, living room, porch) The barn is currently used for owner storage space and is not for guest use. If you have a smaller party and would like to rent a smaller part of the house, let me know.
Other things to note
This is the type of place that you will want to keep coming back to. When people start spending time in Randolph, they see what a unique and special place it is, and often want to return. It's a quiet, peaceful, location but you can be at many attractions and conveniences in a matter of minutes. We are about 15 minutes from Santa's Village. Wildcat Mountain is about 40 minutes. Bretton Woods is about 30 minutes, while Great Glenn, with great X-C skiing and a tubing hill is only about 20 minutes away.

About the host

Host profile image
I am originally from southern NH, and moved north to take a teaching job at the local regional high school. After 23 years of teaching a variety of agriculture and natural resource related courses, I "retired" to be home with our baby, born May 2021. My (late) husband and I were married in the field you see in these pictures in 2013, and that is why we now own the property. Together, we made maple syrup, hiked and paddled, had a huge vegetable garden, grew blueberries, raspberries and flowers. We just loved being in the outdoors. I am continuing this with our son. I love being a host because I feel we live in such a beautiful place and it's really fun to share that with others.

Why they chose this property

Randolph is a very unique and special place. We have a small year round population (about 300) with a much larger and very active group of summer residents. I especially love living on Randolph Hill because it's quiet, wooded, and has incredible views of the mountains. (we live just down the road) However, we are also very close to conveniences like stores, restaurants and attractions. This is the type of place that, once you spend time here, you want to keep coming back. The road is a "no outlet", and has access to many hiking trails, including one right on the property. Often, you will see people out walking up and down the road, taking in nature and stopping to visit.

What makes this property unique

This is just a gorgeous place. It's a bit of a step back in time, but still has what you need to be comfortable during your stay. We are excited about the upgrades we have made while retaining the charm of the home. The house originally sat up near the road (typical New England style) and was moved back in the 1960's. The house and barn are surrounded by fields and forests and you can just feel yourself relax when you get here.
Folks usually spend quite a bit of time sitting on the porch just watching the light change on the mountains. As I mentioned above, we bought the property because we were married in "the wedding field" across the road. When it came up for sale, my romantic husband could not bear the possibility of having houses built in "our" field, so he made an offer. Now, we are happy to share it with friends and guests, and have hosted several more weddings in the field!
