Skyline - Goose Rocks Beach - Kennebunkport

KPort Concierge is excited to invite you to our Skyline property! This newly built, shingled post and beam style salt box is set on a half acre in Goose Rocks Beach. The owners completed building their dream home at the start of 2015 and have set it up for guests just as we'd like it. Enjoy breakfast in the morning sun, at the family style table on the bluestone patio. Then wander down to the pristine white sandy beach. The home sits 700 yards from Goose Rocks Beach, a short walk or bike ride (we have a few cruisers on hand) on quiet neighborhood roads. Take the beach chairs along, and if you're venturing out for the full day and want to tote lunch and beverages, use the beach cart. It's great for lugging the bocce set as well, which is a must at low tide. Goose Rocks Beach is widely regarded as the finest beach in Maine, spanning almost three miles. Kids will enjoy the tidal pools and river at the northern end of the beach. Or if you prefer some tennis, the Goose Rocks Beach Community House is just a three minute walk from the house. The GRBCH also has a playground, arts and crafts, and basketball court for the kids (there are fees associated with using GRBCH). Golf in the area is easily found within 5 miles. If the water is your thing, there are many options, including nearby rentals of kayaks, stand up paddle boards, or boats. Goose Rocks Beach is protected by a barrier reef and Timber Island, so the water is calm. If surfing is your thing, just a couple miles north of GRB is Fortunes Rocks Beach, with great waves. And if fishing is your preference, the options are limitless: deep sea, surf casting or fly fishing are all great within Kennebunkport and Cape Porpoise.
Return to the house after your day in the sun, and rinse the ocean salt off in the outdoor shower. Enjoy cocktails on the hardwood deck, facing the setting sun, or at the butcher block bar in the kitchen. Play lawn games in the backyard or let the kids roam around on their bikes until dinner. Prepare your gourmet meal on the professional gas range or the patio grill, or head out to one of our local favorites. The local lobster guys are nearby as well, if you want the true Maine experience. Our kitchen table expands from seating 8 to 12, to accommodate friends stopping by. After dinner, throw a couple logs from our stack in the fire pit and make your s'mores, or hit the local ice cream shop in Cape Porpoise.
That's a lot about what to do outside of the house, because well, that's where you spend your time while at GRB. That said, we've setup the house to make your inside time relaxing too. The great room includes a 47" TV with cable and AppleTV, so you can access all your shows and movies from your own account. The basement is finished to accommodate some separation time from the youngsters. It includes a cinema projector. There is also high speed WiFi, but if you're trying to get away, you don't have to share that information. Our preference is to pull out the classic board games and pretend the internet doesn't exist for an evening.
At some point you'll need to hit the hay. The kids go upstairs in the big bedroom with two twins and a bunk bed. The upstairs bathroom has a double vanity and a bathtub to make cleaning them up as quick as possible so you can get back to your time. The primary bedroom down the hall has a king bed. The first floor has two queen bedrooms. The bathroom downstairs has a shower with a swinging glass door.
