Cabin was cozy. Nice and secluded. It feels like you are in the woods by yourselves. Interior is not spacious but it is adequate. Kitchen had everything needed. Place was very clean. Could use a hand rail or grab bar on the 3 steps up to the porch.

Thank you for the kind review! We're so glad the secluded setting gave you that peaceful in-the-woods feel and that the kitchen and cleanliness lived up to expectations. We appreciate the suggestion about a handrail for the porch steps and have shared it with our team. We'd love to welcome you back anytime!
Great little cabin in a small grove of trees. Lots of wildlife and privacy. We watched a bald eagle eating dinner in one of the trees, walked to the bay, enjoyed hearing the frogs.

Quiet, secluded location with bald eagles nesting high above the cabin. Cabin is charming however windows are fixed in closed position lacking fresh air on warm days/nights. No ac.

Had a great weekend at the cabin! Had everything we needed and felt really comfortable. Location is great in Penn Cove and we really liked the ability to walk down to the beach as well as being so close to Coupville and Ebbeys Landing. Would book again!

Very good location but inside not great. Needs a clean out of old utensils, inadequate dishes and pans , huge collection of unnecessary cleaning supplies (2 irons and broken coffee equipment). Can’t watch TV sitting up as no bed headboard; impossible loft, and ladder takes up entire floor space; unpleasant dining area, etc. etc. Generally a disappointment but could easily be improved.

Wow our cabin was amazing. It’s tucked away and very quiet. The cleanliness was 5 star. We had Every amenity in kitchen, nice linens, extra throw blankets. We enjoyed the porch for hours. We even got to pick wild blueberries and made a jam. We were there for a wedding in Coupville and travel was easy. Thank you for a wonderful memory.

Great spot. porch steps could use hand rail for disabled. Wife doesn't walk very well
Check-in process was super slick. Got a text the place was ready and hadd the email with the check-in process. Super convenient way to communicate with the host, either by calling or texting. They were super responsive. Highly recommend staying here. We plan to try and schedule another trip. This place is smack in the middle of the island so it's convenient to make day trips to other locations.

This is a lovely place we will certainly look up again when spending time in the area. It comes with everything you need, is 10 min from everything you may still want, and has lots and lots of privacy. We arrived very late and probably woke all neighbors backing back out of their driveways; make sure you go slow enough down the street for your GPS to keep up in real time to find the right entrance. Absolutely no worries once you get there. Thank you for having us.

We had a great time staying in this cabin. It had all essentials for a stay and also for cooking a light breakfast.
It was lil tricky to find this place.
But the property manager was helpful. The texting got me quick and prompt responses for my queries.
It would have been better to come in summer as it was cold to roam around and enjoy the beaches and lookout points in Feb first week.

Cute little cottage, no water view
This cottage is cute and in a great location but without the water views suggested by the title Penn Cove Overlook and the views shown in the photos. The weather was warm while we were there, but the windows were in poor repair. One could not be opened at all and another could not be closed.without pushing from outside.

Enjoyed the privacy of this little cabin. Close to main roads but you wouldn't know it. Amazing sunrise view from the covered porch. Enjoyed all the birdsong . surprised how much there was at this time of year. Cabin had cobwebs in doorways and some garbage outside of cabin. Could use better places to hang coats. But overall it was very nice.

Very small unit. Dining table tiny and virtually unusable unless you’re a midget. Kitchen was adequate, upper bedroom impractical to use. Small details missing such as more than one washcloth, bathroom mat needing cleaning or replacement
Cosy little hideaway, we totally enjoyed our time here. Pretty well equipped, except no tea towels, but there are quite a few design miscues that impacted our stay. Too many to list. Place was very clean although lifting a floor rug and then looking under the bed was a mistake. As it often is, I guess?

Reviewer Comments:
We were in awe of this place at first sight; the peace and the ambiance were on point. The cabin and nature are charming. HOWEVER, the pictures on display for this property advertisement were NOT pictures taken on this property. As falsely advertised, there was no Penn Cove water access. We were disappointed to find windows broken and unable to open or close or both. The porch furniture is a modge-podge of tasteless furniture that clashes with the surrounding beauty. We were over the moon with the abundance of blackberries on the lower part of the property and along the gates pond, but also growing up onto the front porch and the front of the house.
Fix the railing on the ladder up to the loft! The top right support rail almost pulled out and put me off balance when I went up to get the other pillows.
Reverse the direction of the doors on the refrigerator. I was
ready to just do it on our second day but my wife talked me out of it. It would make it a lot easier to load/unload to the kitchen counter. The doors on that type of refrigerator are reversible - just takes a screwdriver.
Put a coat hook just inside the front door. It will not get in the
way of normal room use and it is a bit easier than dealing with the hangers in the space between the kitchen and bathroom.
Have a good reading light. We had to use our flashlights or go
into the bathroom to read a few things.
Have a light blanket or two available to use instead of just the duvet.
Have a couple of wall hooks in the bedroom for robes.
Items we missed / had issues with:
We looked for the games, books, and puzzles as described for the rental but could not find them.
We had problems getting the TV and internet working we got there. It was quickly fixed - thank you! But it should have been tested before we got there.
Wish-list item:
Replace the ladder to the loft with a set of pull-down stairs. It
looks like the existing ladder railings are long enough to re-use for supports for a set of pull-down stairs and it would make using the kitchen and dining space much more pleasant and make going to/from the loft safer.
Cabin was cozy and clean. The yard was a bit over grown with bushes that have tons of thorns on them which made for a difficult time with kids. The kids did love the loft though.
The cabin is advertised as having beach access which is not the case. We would definitely go back though.

The beach access is nearby at the public access just down the road a ways. We are happy you still had a nice stay and hope you can return!
We recently came to stay at the Penn Cove cabin. I cannot say enough about this peaceful and beautiful place! It was perfect for two! We enjoyed morning coffee and sunrise right from our porch and used the propane fire pit every morning. The propane stove inside is beautiful and cozy. The space is small, no false advertising here but they have made great use of every nook and cranny. The pond, the birds, the view-breathtaking! We arrived a little earlier than expected, gave them a quick call and were able to check in right away. Just an awesome experience over all and we would definitely stay again!

Our stay at this cabin was perfect. It was impeccably clean and had all the amenities you would need to feel at home. Very cozy with the fireplace and even though it is on the property with another home, it feels very private. And we also enjoyed the propan fire pit in the porch. We enjoyed exploring the beach near the house (you did have to walk alongside the bigger home and that felt ok since no one was staying there, don't know how it would be if there were guests) and it was close to Oak Harbor for dinner and Whidbey Island Farm and Market. Overall, our weekend was perfect. The hosts are very responsive and accomodating. Highly recommend!
