About this property

The Guest House at Elon Cottage

Elon Cottage is a historic house located in the heart of Gibsonville [~1895], about two miles from Elon University. Our wooded lot with grassy glades is approximately 1.5 acres, yet located within two blocks of downtown Gibsonville. If you like dining, walk merely a block to Saint Jacques French Restaurant at the Burke Manor [4.5 stars], or four blocks to Kimber’s Steak House [4 stars].

Our Guest house is located behind the main house, away from the road, and has views typical of the North Carolina Midlands. It was remodeled in 2023, and has everything new on the inside – granite countertops, SS kitchen appliances, new paint, new bath fixtures, and new flooring, tile inclusive.

Beyond our really choice location, amenities include a full kitchen with equipment and utensils, washer and dryer, internet. We have nine fine hens too, so open the egg box and help yourself!

We loved our stay and hope to be able to return at a future date. Our hosts could not have been nicer or more accommodating and the location was great. We were only .3 miles from downtown Gibsonville and walked into town 3 or 4 times each day. The guest house was spotlessly clean, everything we needed was right there, and we were very comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable, clean and cozy cottage that’s conveniently located 3 miles from Elon and walking distance to downtown Gibsonville. The host was gracious and thoughtful when communicating before our visit and available if we needed anything. Cottage access was easy, kitchen was fully stocked and the two little pups were wonderful ambassadors when we pulled into the driveway. Will stay here again!!

My stay was very pleasant. It is exactly how it looks; it’s quiet and serene. Bed is super comfy. About an 7-9 minute drive to Elon University and about 5 minutes to Burlington shopping. It beats staying in a local 2-3 star hotel. Hosts are very nice, and their dogs are adorable. I would stay again, for sure.

Highly recommend this, Emily and Chandler are wonderful hosts. We were so grateful for the little touches, farm fresh eggs and outdoor seating for afternoon tea. Lovely cottage. No TV for three days!!! Heaven.

Southern hospitality at it’s best

The guest cottage was just as described and only surpassed by the warm southern hospitality of the owners. They made me feel right at home and were available anytime I needed anything. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful place to stay.

The cottage was charming, clean and spacious. The hosts provided plenty of towels and extra blankets for the bed. The bed was king size. There was even and extra fold out twin in the closet that was offered to us if we needed it.
