"Point of View" Waterfront cottage with panoramic views on Tilghman Island
The Tilghman Island “Point of View” is a waterfront property located on Tilghman Island, with a 270-degree water view overlooking both Dogwood Harbor and Harris Creek. Step back in time to experience a slower, friendlier lifestyle while immersed in the waterman’s way of life. Steeped in history going back to the earliest settlements in North America, Tilghman Island is an authentic waterman’s village. Perfectly situated on the Maryland crab and oyster trail, the Island is known for serving up some of the most delicious seafood in the country. Island attractions include restaurants, shops, parks and a museum all set in the beautiful natural habitat of the Chesapeake. The “Point of View” is a beautiful two-bedroom waterfront cottage, recently renovated and fully furnished in coastal decor. Experience incredible, panoramic sunrises and sunsets, and chillingly beautiful moon rises over the Chesapeake Bay and Choptank River basin from the yard or balcony. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the local waterman setting out and returning with their days’ catch of crabs, oysters, clams and fish. Walk or kayak the shoreline searching for sea glass treasures and observing the local wildlife (bald eagles, osprey, pelicans, loons, geese, cormorants, wild turkeys and so much more – this is a Birder’s paradise). Take a stroll or ride a bike to Island attractions including all restaurants and shops. Try your luck at catching your own seafood by casting a fishing rod or dropping a crab line from our private dock. The Point of View is located within walking distance to the launch point of a boat trip to the Poplar Island’s Wildlife Sanctuary and The Tilghman Island Watermen’s Museum. Arrive by boat or car – and if you arrive by car, you will come over the uniquely beautiful Tilghman Island draw bridge. Kayaks and bicycles provided.

Wow - the views were amazing and the cottage was clean and very charming. The hostess gave us all sorts of information ahead of our arrival and very accommodating. The little touches she adds to the cottage were wonderful. We will be returning to this little beauty! Thank you so much for sharing your place with us!
We had a wonderful stay at the Point of a View Cottage! The views are spectacular and we also enjoyed how easy it was to walk to places to eat and the local market. Recommendations for places to eat were spot on and also appreciated a message over the weekend notifying us of the local craft market held Sunday morning. Would love to come again one day!

Jennifer, so happy you enjoyed your stay at the Point of View! Would love to host your group again in the future!
The cottage was perfect for me, my husband and our doggies. A bit smaller than I imagined but it had everything we needed for our little vacation. The water views from inside the cottage were amazing! You could watch the oyster and crab boats go out to the big back bays and come back in. There is a lot of wildlife: lions, ducks, herons, wrens, seagulls, eagles, crabs, jellyfish, etc.

So happy you enjoyed your stay at the Point of View! Hope you return!
The home was so well appointed and walking distance to stores, restaurants, quaint museums and beautiful nature. The host was so friendly and helpful with quick responses. We had high winds and lots of rain, but stayed cozy and warm. What a friendly Island of people!!
Beautiful location, great views, beautiful sun rises, view of working watermen Dogwood Harbour. Owner met us at the property with a bottle of wine — very friendly. Tilghman Island is a quaint and beautiful gem.

Thanks so much and looking forward to hosting you again in the future.
Enjoyed our 3-day stay on the Tilghman Island cabin. There were two rooms and a nice sitting area and open kitchen. We had a steak BBQ dinner on the grill and had a nice campfire in the fire pit. I took our child on the sit-on kayak for a paddle around the lagoon. Recommend this property for a peaceful, quiet time watching the birds and easy distance to St. Michaels.

You will not be disappointed at "A Point of View". The water views on three sides of the cottage were spectacular at any time of day. The cottage was charming, immaculate and so well appointed. We enjoyed being able to walk to many places and especially the country market. You won't want to miss it. Our host was amazing with prompt replies and offered suggestions for dining and shopping. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you, Maria and Kevin!
I only had a slightly wider view of the water from a kayak- the panoramic view from the deck was peaceful and beautiful from first light to sunset (though the night coasts were relaxing as well). Inside was clean and had nice decorative touches. We had all we needed to cook in when we did. Easy to walk or ride around and an easy drive to surrounding attractions. We'll be back!
Our stay was amazing! Words cannot say enough! The view is magical. We enjoyed coffee on the porch to watch the sunrise and the crab/oyster boats going in and out.
Maria, is a wonderful and very thoughtful host. At her recommendation, we went to the free wine tasting at the General Store at the end of the street. We met several local residents who could not be more kind and fun to talk with.
We can't wait to come back and stay again.

It was a pleasure hosting you Debbie and you are welcome back anytime!
The Point of View was a wonderful location! My wife continues to rave about this place with friends. We loved the view, the cool breezes on hot days, the daily entertainment from a variety of birds: osprey, great blue heron, white heron, egrets, etc. We plan to definitely go back. Maria, the hostess was very helpful. She surprised us with a welcome basket of wine and snacks and well wishes for our anniversary. You've got to check out The Country Store!!

We loved hosting such a wonderful couple! Hoping you come back!
“Point of View” waterfront cottage did not disappoint. In fact, it was beyond expectations. Maria’s (the host) personal touches made the cottage feel like home. We used “Point of View” as overflow for a family reunion we were having. It is perfectly situated for easy walking to anything you need or want to do on Tilghman Island. The views from the cottage are amazing. Being on the entrance to Dogwood Harbor provides you with a real time experience of what a waterman’s life is truly all about.
Short stay, relaxing, enjoying reading by serene river, watching the seabirds. Outside dining with all the dog friendly Tilghman Island restaurants was a major plus. Best crab dishes we’ve eaten in years. The house was very clean and comfortable, with wonderful natural light. The owners were quick and responsive to any request. St. Michael’s is 20 minute drive. The Maritime Museum in St. Michael’s was worth the trip with exceptional history supplied. All you can eat crab, was offered in Chesapeake Landing Restaurant, and other crab dishes were delicious. Thanks to Maria, and would return in the future with bicycles.
Thank you so much for our wonderful time at the Point of View. We were so comfortable we didn’t want to ever leave – it was clean and comfortable. The home feels brand new because it has been renovated very recently. The furniture and kitchen are brand new and perfect for the space. The water views are incredible in every direction – we watched stunning sunrises (and moon rises!) to the east, we watched the awesome sunsets to the west and thoroughly enjoyed watching all the action in Dogwood Harbor to the south. Our hosts were very responsive and brimming with local information that they readily shared. We highly recommend Point of View and we will be going back as soon as we can.
