Dog-Friendly! 4 King Suites, Saltwater Hot Tub & Game Room – Harpers Ferry
Mountain Haven is a private 3-acre wooded retreat 20 minutes from Harpers Ferry, WV, newly built in 2023, with four king suites, a hot tub, and a full game room. Sleeps 10. It's family-friendly and pet-friendly, with plenty of room for a multi-family trip or a reunion crew.
Each of the four bedrooms is a full suite — a king bed with its own private bathroom — so every couple or family group gets real privacy. Two twin floor mattresses sleep the last two guests, ideal for kids or a last-minute addition to the group. The kitchen centers on a luxurious 15-foot island with full chef's appliances, perfect for a big group breakfast or a slow group dinner. Two separate living areas give everyone room to spread out, whether that's a movie night or a quiet corner with a book.
The game room has a full ping pong table and an arcade machine. The saltwater hot tub is professionally treated between every stay, and the wood-burning fire pit is stocked with firewood we provide — just add marshmallows. The front deck, tucked among the trees, seats ten for dinner outside. We have high-speed internet, which is not typical for all homes in the area.
Mountain Haven sits on the Maryland side of the Potomac, five minutes from the river and 20 minutes from Harpers Ferry, WV and Shepherdstown, WV. You're also in the Catoctin AVA, Maryland's growing wine region, with several local vineyards a short drive away. Frederick, MD is 30 minutes, and Whitetail Ski Resort is 50 minutes.
Dogs are welcome for a $25/night fee per dog, provided they're reliably house-trained — just let us know their age when you book. We don't accept cats or puppies. Pest control is environmentally friendly and safe for both kids and pets, so bug concerns are covered. Guests consistently mention how clean the home stays despite hosting pets.
Hassle-free damage insurance is included with every stay — if a child or a friend in your group breaks something, it's covered, no extra charge and no awkward conversation.
This is a private residential home in a quiet neighborhood, not an event space. Quiet hours are 10 PM–7 AM, exterior cameras monitor the property perimeter, and an indoor noise/occupancy monitor alerts us in real time to any gathering beyond the booked group size. Unauthorized parties or gatherings are grounds for immediate eviction without refund.

We had a short but lovely stay ahead of a big storm. Blair and Nadia were very helpful and responsive with all of our questions before and during our stay, and the house and property were exactly what we hoped for. It was well stocked, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable for a laid back time. We cut our trip short to get home before a big snow storm, but we would go back in a heartbeat.
I had a fantastic experience staying at this property . The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The location was perfect, The host was incredibly friendly and responsive.I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

I really can't rave enough about the stay we had at this beautiful mountain haven! We were here on a 3-generation family vacation - my father in law has great interest in Civil War history and this home was perfectly situated to get to many sites easily. We all loved this house! Secluded, quiet, peaceful with gorgeous natural surroundings. We were seriously obsessed with the design and decor inside. Everyone thought the beds were amazingly comfortable. The kitchen is AWESOME and fully stocked. We cooked a lot and wanted for nothing. We had a blast playing ping pong and video games on a rainy day. Blair and Nadia were superb hosts with very prompt communication. When we couldn't find the remote for the ceiling fan in our room they very kindly delivered a floor fan to us which was above-and-beyond service. We hope to stay in one of their properties again in the future!!

Wonderful house! Very spacious, well decorated, and well thought out. The fire pit outside was so lovely to sit around at night and the game room was perfect for some friendly ping pong tournaments as well. We loved the decor and furniture choices, both stylish and functional. Would highly recommend staying here.

Stunning property in a beautiful and convenient location. Highly recommend. Spacious and clean. The kids enjoyed the game room, the beds were very comfortable and the property is up from the street with lots of privacy. We were 3 senior couples and stayed here for 2 nights after a road trip. It was a great place to chill with no agenda. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed & much more. The beds were comfortable; the kitchen was a dream & fully stocked; we loved the firepit and chairs on the patio. We didn't use the hot tub. The owners were outstanding for responding quickly to multiple questions.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay Stephen- we loved hosting you and appreciated the feedback too. Come again anytime- more than enough history for another trip!
Our group of friends from law school got together for a weekend of relaxing and catching up. The home was even better than the listing and we really appreciated the large kitchen, attention to decor, and amenities such as the hot tub and fire pit. The hosts even accommodated us for a late checkout, which was much appreciated.

Thank you Murray! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to hosting you again at A Haven Away!
Beautiful new house. Tons of space and every amenity you could ask for. Hosts were super responsive. Lots of extra everything. Only negative is the open concept allowed sound to travel to every nook in the house. If someone was awake early/late on the main floor, every step and word would echo throughout
Just an hour from my home outside of Washington DC, Mountain Haven was the quiet, comfortable escape I was looking for. Open, bright, comfortable, modern, well-equipped....I could go on and on. I will definately return when I am looking to 'go missing' for a while.

Thank you Anne! We are so glad you enjoyed the house and a quiet getaway from the city! Come back again soon!
My friends and I booked this as a base of operations for our JFK50 weekend. We needed a comfortable house where we could cook and prepare for, and then relax and recover from, a long day of running. And this house delivered and then some. When I first booked, it was so perfect I worried it might be a spam posting, but no, it’s just that nice. The four king beds, 3 full bathrooms, and huge kitchen were absolutely beautiful, with almost everything brand new.
It was quiet, check in was easy, the host was responsive, and I couldn’t recommend it more for a weekend with friends or family. The location is right by some excellent hiking and biking, and even just staying on the property there is plenty to do, with ping pong, games, a great sitting area by a gas fire place, a lovely hot tub, and more.
Great stuff, easy 5/5

Thank you for the very kind review Andrew! We were so happy to host you guys and we're glad you had a great race and could recover at the house- and even make the most of the hiking/biking too!
The youngest and friend are thru hiking the Appalachian trail. Harpers Ferry, WV is approximately half-way with the AT Center located in town.
The parents and sibling took this opportunity to congratulate them on the accomplishment of thru hiking over 1,000 miles and allow them to take a couple of days to wash cloths, air out tent and sleeping bags and reset from their journeys.
The house was in a perfect location to facilitate this hard reset from their travels. It provided the solace and amenities for them to clean up, relax, and spend time with family before embarking on the last half of the hike to Mt. Katahdin, Maine.
The house had 4 bedrooms which allowed everyone to have own space, a great open floor plan with a huge kitchen island to facilitate gatherings and conversations.
One of the bedrooms was located in a lower level with direct access to the hot tub, providing the children with a perfect sanctuary to reset from the 3-month hike. It actually had a television, who knew.
The property is within 20-30 minutes of shopping, historic civil war battle sites and museums as well as general civilization.
The only negative is the WIFI, and cell phone connectivity is extremely spotty and slow. Do not plan on doing work unless you have a lot of patients.
The pictures on the website are accurate and this is a wonderful place to stay.

Thank you so much Todd- we are so happy you loved the area as much as we do and the house met the needs of your group- come and stay again!
Greetings & salutations,This is my 1st VRBO booking and there were no surprises other than, how big and fully stocked the kitchen was! The pictures do the place justice, great mattresses on all the beds. Great fire pit and decks. We ran out of Body wash and before you know it, Door dash dropped some off (thank you Beth!!)Definitely like being at a nice hotel, no stripping of beds, just run the dishwasher and take out the trash. Us old retired guys will be back next year for sure, thanks, RC
