Located four blocks from the surf n sand of our amazing beaches and just a short walk to the Village center where you'll find great shops, health spa, restaurants and entertainment for everyone. Close to all major attractions. Lego Land – 5 mins, Sea World – 25 mins, SD Zoo – 30 mins, Wild Animal Park - 45 mins, Coaster ( Train ) 2 blocks, Down Town San Diego 35 mins.

Fully equipped kitchen stocked with Keurig coffee maker, new dishes, flatware, pots, pans, knives, blender, gas range/oven, microwave, full refrigerator/freezer, toaster and almost everything you would need to cook up and serve a great meal in the comforts of home.

Amenities include extra pillows, blankets, hair dryer, shampoo, soaps, and paper goods.

Full size washer and dryer on site with everything you need to wash your clothes. Ironing Board too!

This cottage was amazing. There was a full kitchen with utensils/pans/dishes. The outside patio are was great for morning coffee and dinner. Location was great for walking to a park (2 blocks); shopping (2-5 blocks); and ocean. We would definitely stay again.

When you first walk on the property, you are greeted with the fragrance of magnolia and honeysuckle. Everything went up hill from there. Very clean and they thought of everything you would possibly want for your stay. We would highly recommend this cottage.

Deanna was extremely communicative with us during our stay and leading up to it! Very easy check in and check out process. The location couldn’t have been in more ideal, literally minutes to all shops and delicious restaurants (Crackheads is a must). Additionally hands down one of the best showers!

Charming Carlsbad Cottage

My wife and I recently vacationed at this charming cottage in Carlsbad. Deanna and her family were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to ensure our comfort. We brought our kayaks and beach cruisers and were able to secure them along with Deanna's great variety of beach toys. Excellent restaurants were within walking / biking distance as was the beautiful Pacific Ocean. We kayaked off Carlsbad beach, La Jolla Caves and a nearby lagoon. We already miss this cottage and can't wait to return.

The Hideaway is a cute, cosy little cottage tucked away in a corner of a residential area close to the Village center. I spent two months here without a car and though it would have been easier to have one, it was perfectly managable without. Beach, grocery store, library, Senior Center, train station, and town are all within a mile of the place. Hosts, Deanna and Craig are friendly and accomodating. Cottage and grounds are very clean and pretty much everything you need for daily living is supplied. I only wish i could have stayed longer!

20th Wedding Anniversary stay in Carlsbad

The Hideaway Retreat was an ideal space to stay in Carlsbad and celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary and attend the Carlsbad Street Fair. The cottage offers everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Onsite parking in a private driveway, clear communication with the owner, fully stocked kitchen, living, and sleeping areas, and high walkability to nearby shops and restaurants are reasons to stay here. We traveled with our 15 year old senior pup, who enjoyed exploring the enclosed backyard and daily morning trips to Maxton Brown Park located less than a block from the cottage. Deanna, the owner, put much thought into the amenities that make a successful vacation rental. One being the spa-like shower head and tranquil bathroom offering a nice way to start and end the day. The other is a compact Weber gas grill situated on a raised wagon wheel table. We cooked our anniversary dinner of seared Norwegian salmon, local swordfish, jumbo scallops, and zucchini on it. It was a special meal and best way to celebrate 20 years together. We drank great coffee and beer, ate delicious food, and got a healthy dose of exercise exploring the adjacent Carlsbad Village area. We met and had great conversations with many locals who live in and around the area. If you're not sure what to do or need suggestions, Deanna texted a list of activities and put together additional information in a well kept binder on the TV stand. We hope to return soon for more relaxation and exploration in Carlsbad.

Great location

Carlsbad is a fun town. This property is a short walk to town and beach (which is beautiful). We had a fun time and would certainly make a return visit. Deanna organized everything for us and we enjoyed our time here.

Cute Cottage for solo or couple

Lovely small cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The large cottage was a bit closer than expected, but each had it's own outside area with chairs, table and bbq. The owners were very responsive to questions and any problems that came up and it was so very nice to have a shared washer and dryer, bicycles and beach equipment for our use. The Village of Carlsbad and it's boardwalk and beach were a 20+ minute walk, but with the bikes it only took 10-12 minutes. I highly recommend this cottage.

Comfortable and Great Location

I stayed for three nights at this compact but comfortable and well equipped cottage. It was easy walking distance to the beach and shops. Deanna was very helpful when I had a small technology challenge (the TV is smarter than I am). I would definitely stay here again.
