Approximately 2 hours from New York City by car or train (to the Rhinecliff station), Pine Plains is a quiet and beautiful town right on the border of Dutchess and Columbia counties. A 3-minute drive from the house you’ll find a gorgeous collection of lakes and two incredible hikes. The town of Pine Plains has a grocery store, several restaurants and bars, and fantastic vintage/art shopping. And speaking of bars, just down the street is Dutch’s Spirits – a farm distillery with delicious cocktails and food in a stunning setting.
We are also 15 minutes west of Millerton, 20 minutes east of Rhinebeck and Red Hook, and 30 minutes south of Hudson if you’re looking for a little more adventure. Catamount Mountain Resort is 30 minutes away for skiing and tubing.
Self check-in with keycode on front door. Parking in the driveway.
The house has three bedrooms on the first floor and a loft space above the living room with an additional queen-sized bed.
Enjoy a modernized kitchen sure to meet all of your gastronomical needs, a living room with soaring 20 foot ceilings and a glass façade overlooking the trees, 2.5 gut-renovated and gorgeous bathrooms, and ample outdoor space for al fresco meals, wine and relaxing with friends or a good book.
A few things to note about this beautiful, quirky house: (1) The loft upstairs is accessed by a spiral staircase, and there is an opening looking over the main room; while it will feel private, know that it is not a closed off bedroom. (2) The bathroom off the primary bedroom has a low ceiling as you enter, so watch your head! It may feel a little tight for tall people, but you can always use the other bathroom -- or duck! (3) The house is situated on a 1 acre plot of land on a quiet cul-de-sac, there are neighbors on both sides of the property, but endless woods behind the house.
We look forward to sharing our magical little slice of the Hudson Valley with you!
Having a car during your stay is definitely recommended!
In the Upstate A you will also find:
• Two full bathrooms downstairs, one of them off the primary bedroom; the half bath is on the second floor next to the kitchen.
• A bar cart with all of your cocktail-making needs.
• Living room TV with access to Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Amazon and more.
• Under the TV you’ll find games galore (Chess, Backgammon, Rummikub, Code Names, Poker – to name a few).
• A book nook in the loft with some of our favorite reads.
• For exercise, we’ve got several yoga mats and blocks as well as a collection of different weights.
• To support that #WFH life, we’ve got two great office set ups – both with a monitor hook up.
Outdoor space includes a spacious front lawn, upper and lower front porches, a back-patio hang area with a heat lamp for those chilly nights, and a fire pit up behind the house just at the start of the expansive woods.
