About this property
Beautiful redwood cabin on the Atlantic Ocean, with a fabulous deck.
''On The Rock'' Is on the Rock! I call my cabin, ''On the Rock''
I now have a 10 night minimum stay.
My cabin sits on top of a big boulder right above the beach. If you were any closer to the water you'd be swimming.
There's a large picture window that faces out to the beach and the ocean, this window faces east-southeast. There's a really nice deck just to the side of the cabin. The deck is beautifully built into an outcropping of rock that is just outside your door.
The main room of the cabin has a built-in full-size bed built into the far corner of the room. This bed is set back a bit, from the rest of the living room. Then there's a separate bedroom also with a full-size bed. The bathroom is small and only has a shower.... this is a cabin.
My cabin sits over looking an incredible spot on the coast of Maine, I can promise you that.
And the ocean view picture that I have here shows only a small part of that view. My cabin has a large picture window that looks out to the ocean.
So dream away.

Perfect little cottage for a get a way for two. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this cozy quiet
space with a great deck and view. Very low pressure easy place to enjoy and relax. Nice artwork too.

Thanks for your nice comments and review.
I think my cabin has a special charm, there's nothing fancy about it,
what it is is easy and peaceful. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'll hope to see you soon again.
Great location and view with a lovely owner but difficult access.
This cabin has a great location and view, but it only suitable for fairly athletic guests. Access is down a steep (45 degree), perhaps 50 yard long rocky path. My wife and I are 78 & 81 years old; we made it up and down, but particularly with luggage or groceries it is hazardous (I fell twice), and I don't know that we could have gotten our luggage back up without the invaluable assistance of the owner's assistant. There is a rope which is helpful but just reduces the climb to acceptable (and which doesn't help with luggage). The cabin wasn't especially clean; our first purchase was a dust buster. Direct access to the water is down a steeper path; an easier route is to go back to the top and around the corner. Under the circumstances I think it is overpriced which I hate to say since he was so gracious to us, but I have an obligation to possible clients.

Well, I liked Roy and his wife very much from the moment I met them. Prior to meeting they, I did describe to them in great detail that I thought it was a difficult path down to the cabin, and yes it is the only path down to my cabin. Roy mentioned their age, both of them around 80.
If they had wanted to cancel, I would have made it easy for them to cancel given all of this. They never asked to cancel, rather they informed me that they would do their best, and hope for the best. If they were 10 or 20 years younger I would totally love to have them back, my guess is they might feel the same way.
Lovely spot, the interior and view are perfect Maine! This is a rustic cabin, but with so much charm!

Debbie and Alex were wonderful guests at my cabin "On the Rock."
It was clear to me that they liked my place really well right at first sight,
that along with the fact that they told me they were visiting from D.C. where they live, and they were looking forward to the cool fog of the Maine Coast.
I will look forward to their return, that's for sure.

Awesome setting!
Throughly enjoyed our stay here. Peaceful, quiet and beautiful views. Loved watching the changing tides. Plenty of lobster shacks within a short distance if you don’t want to cook your own. Joshua was great to work with and enjoyed meeting him. Would definitely recommend this property.

Great location and views. Cabin was not so great
Location, deck, deck furniture, views, access to water, and kayaks were wonderful, 5+ stars. Because we spent 90% of our awake-time outside, we had a great stay. The inside of the cabin is not so great. Kitchen, bathroom, and dining-area furniture were old and ill-kept, 1 star; for example, peeling paint on the dining-area furniture. Bedroom was barely big enough for the bed and we slept in the bed in the living area. The cabin had mice, one of which got trapped in a pot at night, keeping us awake until we finally found it. The cottage is cluttered with the owners stuff, much of which is nice, but there was barely a free surface anywhere. Baskets and lamps hang from the ceiling and we were forever knocking our heads on them. The cabin is terribly over-priced. We picked the cabin in part due to its high cost, assuming that this meant that it would be really nice inside. It is not.

Well I can't say that I totally disagree with Dennis, first and foremost what I mean by that is --- It's my cabin and it is a cabin. I am sharing it with those who want to be here.... Of course, I get all of my personal belongs out of the cabin, or totally put away when I have incoming guests. As Dennis said, and I agree, the deck is probably the best part of the place, especially on a hot summer day.

A Quiet sanctuary
A perfect place to unplug. My wife and I spent a few days here with our 15-year-old daughter. We all loved it. Joshua was very attentive to our needs.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin with my family.

Thanks for this review.
I love my cabin, I do think it's a very special place. It sits up high, and it's the closest to the beach and the water of all the cottages on the beach. That alone makes it kind of special. I do try and do my best for my guests. The town of Rockland is nearby, and that's a great little town with a lot to do. There are some really great restaurants, if you do decide that you want to leave the beach!

cabin on the maine coast
Lovely small cabin on top of a cliff over looking a beautiful bay. My husband and I had a few days here while our children were away at camp. It was perfect for us. Although there are a number of houses in the area the cabin felt quite private. Great food options in the area from lobster on the shore to award winning dining. Kayaking in the bay was wonderful. Only negative was the closeness of the regional airport.

Incredible!
We rented "On the Rock" and were absolutely delighted. The cabin exceded the descriptions written by the owner. The charm of sitting on the deck and watching the ocean's tides and sunsets was amazing, peaceful, and unforgettable. The owner supplied ample accomodations and answered questions about the area with knowledge. We would highly recommend "On the Rock" to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway in mid-coast Maine.
