You can fish for trout, splash in the creek and pan for gold -- all in your own back yard! Laze away the hours in the hammock under the shade trees or spend time relaxing in the hot tub while enjoying the soothing sounds of the creek. Sit around a campfire and roast marshmallows over the fire pit by the creek. There is a charcoal grill and a smoker on the porch for hamburgers, hot dogs or a juicy steak steak or grill on the fire pit. Top off the day with a close-up view of the heavens (telescope on site). Enjoy a relaxing weekend getaway, a romantic retreat, or a fun-filled, action-packed vacation.
Located in the Nantahala National Forest you will be close to the Tellico Mountains, the Ocoee and Hiawassee River and Notley Rivers. Also, close to several major lakes including Lake Chatuge, Lake Hiawassee, Lake Ocoee, Appalachia Lake, and Lake Santeetlah). You'll be able to enjoy Whitewater Rafting, Kayaking, River Tubing, Boating, Hiking, Horseback Riding and Golf. There are several Zip Lines in the area, snow tubing and World-Class Motorcycling. You might want to try your luck at Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino -- just a few minutes from downtown Murphy. The casino also has a bowling alley, a food court and an arcade. Be sure to pay a visit to the famous John C. Campbell Folk School (weekly events during the Summer). Go Antique Shopping, visit several local flea markets, or take a trip on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. You'll be just 2 hours or less from Atlanta GA (world-famous Georgia Aquarium), Asheville NC (Biltmore Estate), The Cherokee Indian Reservation Museum in Cherokee, NC., Pigeon Forge TN (home of Dollywood), Gatlinburg and the Bavarian Village of Helen Ga.
The roads are paved all the way to the cabin which makes it safe for motorcycles and they are well maintained year round. Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon are about 45 minutes from the cabin.
Come relax and enjoy -- you won't want to go home!

About the host
Hosted by Robert D Scott

I am Dennis Scott and have owned the property at 51 Kingfisher Lane for about 15 years. During that time, it has been a very popular place for many people to enjoy. After living in Murphy for about 10 years I moved to Panama City, Florida but will be moving back to Murphy in 2024. It is a beautiful area and I will be making it home again. As an avid motorcyclist and Western North Carolina offers excellent riding opportunities, I look forward to enjoying the great riding. I hope you will stay at this wonderful cabin and see for yourself the many wonders of Murphy and all it has to offer.
Why they chose this property
Murphy is convenient to Atlanta, Asheville, Chattanooga and many other areas of interest. After growing up in Atlanta then living in Cullman Alabama, after being discharged from the Marines, I moved to Panama City. Looking for the place to retire, I have moved back to Murphy to enjoy all the area has to offer.
What makes this property unique
At 51 Kingfisher Lane, pets are welcome since so many people choose to take their pets along for the adventure and to have them close. The cabin is fully equipped with towels, linens, kitchen utensils, books, games, firewood and more. All you need to bring are your clothes and groceries. Davis Creek is about 30 feet behind the cabin so you can enjoy the soothing sounds of the rushing water, wade in the water, pan for gold or fish for trout. If you enjoy relaxing in a hot tub then this is place for you.
