Great location with wonderful views! Absolutely loved the outside deck with the water view. Spent most of our time outside but the cabin is very nice with everything you need for your stay. Close to Murphy and shops and restaurants.We hope to come back!

Great weekend stay at the lake

We really enjoyed the visit. It's a smaller house, but you'll want to be outside the whole time anyway. Nice big deck, dock, great lake for fishing/swimming. Very quiet setting.

Quiet lakeside vacation

This was a comfortable place for my wife and I to stay for a week. Beautiful views of the small lake from the great room windows. Lots of bird life to see from the deck.

Amazing Location

Great place to stay, not too far from food or town. Very quiet and peaceful place to get some much needed R&R. Sunrise and sunsets are simply amazing looking out over the water. Great catch and release fishing. Can’t wait to go back for another visit.

The weather may not have been the best but everything about the place was perfect for us for the weekend. We brought our two dogs and they loved everything about it, especially the large yard and water. It's location could not have been better

Lakeside cottage

Loved our week in your scenic lake house ☀️

My wife and I loved staying at this rental! The view was peaceful and serene, and our dogs loved it! We enjoyed the backyard, canoeing and dipping our feet in the lake. Overall, it was a nice little trip! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice getaway with your dogs, as there are plenty of walking/hiking trails around.

My wife and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary and couldn’t have been more pleased with the Murphy area. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, and peaceful. We’ll definitely come back.

The Ullman's cottage is very nice very accommodating. A very nice place to go to get away from hustle and bustle. Enjoyed the view of the lake and the clear nights where you can see a million stars. Adorable, Nicely kept cottage with a picturesque view. Our stay was in October. The colors of the hardwood trees just adds to the view! There are many spaces on the property to relax and get in touch with nature. (Dock, swings, picnic table, hammock, fire pit) The location is quiet and just a short drive to Historic Downtown Murphy. The town is lined with locally owned restaurants and shops. The owner is pleasant to work with. The booking process is simple and the owner is easily reached. I will stay here again.

Laziness at the lake house

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend at this cozy two bedroom house on the lake, w full kitchen, TV near the fireplace (it was cold that weekend) and plenty of wood nearby. There's a canoe and a row boat--we took a turn around the lake while the geese looked at us suspiciously. We brought in tasty bbq from the Rib House down the road, did a puzzle, sat in front of the fire, warmed up hot chocolate--It was a perfect get away in a beautiful location. We hope to come back in the spring when it's warmer and we can be outside on the deck enjoying the sunset. This is a great place for one or two couples to enjoy.

Beautiful location and home

I was looking for a quiet and peaceful location for a short vacation - and hoping to get in a little swimming. It was perfect. The house was immaculately clean, well-appointed, and comfortable,. and the location could not be better. The grounds around the house were beautiful and there were several excellent spots for enjoying a good book or soaking in the sun. The lake was ideal for swimming, and I was impressed at how quiet it was. I was also very pleased that there were no noisy watercraft! A perfect getaway for an individual or small family group.

Perfect... Absolutely perfect!

I do believe we found the best vacation rental in all of NC. The beauty of the surroundings, the peace and quiet, the cleanliness and comfort of the home. You will want for nothing during your stay. We even used the fishing poles leaning in the corner to catch and release a small mouth and a large mouth bass in the lake. Just about anything you need you will find there. Most importantly, you will restore your soul here. Thank you so much for such a wonderful vacation.

Escape - relaxation and rest

Cozy, comfortable house on a small lake (with fish) in a quiet private neighborhood. Great place to rest, relax and escape! We enjoyed the house and deck. Private dock provided a place for some fishing! Caught some nice fish! We visited several of the antique stores. The check in & out process was easy to follow. The owners were quick and responsive with questions about the property. This is a great place for couples, friends to meet, or for a small family. The house and neighborhood are quiet and well maintained. A place to have some peace & quiet and it was very enjoyable for us. Kitchen was well supplied, and having on site laundry was appreciated.

BEAUTIFUL, PEACEFUL GETAWAY

We had a wonderful stay at Pete & Phyllis's lovely lakefront home in mid September. The Murphy area was beautiful. The house was clean and very comfortable, and we only had a couple of days of light on and off rain from hurricane Florence. Most of the time was spent relaxing enjoying the quiet neighborhood and fishing from the dock which I caught fish everyday from. Our 2 little dogs loved the open space of the property and chasing the squirrels that baited them to chase them everyday! Didn't want to leave, a week was NOT long enough for me! Would love to stay there again....thanks guys for checking on us to see if everything was going well!

Murphy On The Lake

My wife and I spent a week at the property and were very pleased with the home and the location. Quiet neighborhood on a private lake with water on 3 sides of the house. Very large deck overlooking the lake with patio table, chairs, and a BBQ grill. Beautiful yard with a private dock on the water. If you enjoy star gazing, you won't be disappointed. Very little light pollution allowed me to set up my telescope and camera gear for some shots of the Milky Way over the lake and some deep space astrophotography. The owners were very responsive to any questions that we had and were quick to reply. Overall a great vacation and we look forward to returning to this property as soon as we can.

This is a unique property... a cottage on a peninsula surrounded by water in three sides. it is the prettiest lot on the lake. Also known as "Blackberry Hill." One of our guests prepared this drone footage as a gift for us.
