Amazing Location!!! Listen to the waves every night while you sleep!
I stayed in this property for several days and held the reception for my daughter's wedding on site. The house is very comfortable and easily can accommodate 20 people. It has all the amenities that you might need. The location is perfect! I am a beach fan and love listening to the waves. I enjoyed falling asleep listening to them and waking up listening to them. Tata, the property manager, is amazing. I started planning the event eight months ahead and she responded to all of my questions. She also took time to meet with me face-to-face months ahead. Villa Rosa is superb. It is an amazing property but most importantly, it has and incredible property manager that is there to help you. I am planning on staying there again in the future.
Beautiful Beach Front Home
The home is gorgeous. Plenty of room and amenities for a large group. Good location for plenty of things to do in the area. We took our 20 something kids and they had a blast enjoying the beach volleyball, ping pong, pool, etc. while at the home. Indoor and outdoor kitchens made meal prep easy. Views from the 2nd and especially 3rd floor decks were spectacular. Slept like a baby listening to the roar of the ocean and the waves crashing on the shore from our 3rd floor room.
Beautiful Beachfront Home
We took a family and friend vacation. This house was fantastic! It had wonderful amenities. Good location. Plenty of things to do. The sound of the ocean was so calming. We had a great time! Will be checking into this house again if need this much room for a trip again! The house manager Magaly was very attentive as well. We had a Father's Day dinner catered in with traditional Puerto Rican dishes, which was delicious!
4 GENERATION FAMILY CHRISTMAS VACATION
What a great vacation! We started planning a trip for Christmas 2 years ago, looking for beach and pool, as well as sleeping for 21 people (plus two more who were 10 mos. and 4 mos at the time of the trip). We booked VillaRosa about a year before the trip. Owners were great about working with us as we had several families paying for their own, it was nice to be able to divide up the cost. Villa Rosa was perfect , we loved it. Some small things like having a small amount of toilet paper and soap in each bathroom was really nice. We have gone to other vrbo and that hasn't been the case. It is a beautiful home, we could have stayed there the entire time and never gone site seeing. There were plenty of games, tons of movies, books, magazines (in both spanish and english). Plenty of dishes and kitchen items. There were bath towels and wash clothes as well as beach towels! We went to the Arecibo Lighthouse , which is really more for small kids, but it gave some history as well. We drove to the Observatory , that was fantastic. Some of us drove to the Batey Zipline! Spent a day at the Fort and walking around Old San Juan. The last day we did the Barcardi history tour. But our favorite was just staying at the house. Walking on the beach, floating in the pool. There is plenty of space you don't feel like you're falling all over each other. There are some stray dogs, but they are very friendly and we didn't mind them at all. We can't say enough about this rental, we would go back in a minute!!! Thanks to the owners and Tata and her husband for a great vacation! Oh yes Tata and her husband were very helpful when we had a dead car battery twice! Our family ranged in age from 4 mos to 80 years old, the house worked well for all of us!
Our daughter's dream wedding!
This Villa is the perfect place if you want a beach wedding without the resort crowd in your space. Homeowner is responsive (lives in US) and on site manager is easy to work with. We worked with local San Juan vendors found online and everything went smoothly. Our daughter said it was her dream wedding!
Great location, frustrating stay.
I had planned this vacation for a year for a family Reunion to get all my children and grandchildren together. Positive: the home has a beautiful beach location. We have rented beach homes for a number of years but this had the best location of all homes. This is why I give 3 stars. Negative: when we showed up on Saturday we were told two things. The first was the air conditioning in the large great-room and one bedroom was not working and could not be fixed until the soonest, Monday. (the temp was in the 90s the next few days) The house rules said no toilet paper in the toilet. We had been to PR before and this has not been an issue at the hotels so not aware of this. The air was fixed Monday evening but that was 2 1/2 days without air in one of the bedrooms, (the smallest and therefore very warm) and the large room where the family gathered to play games at and get out of the heat. Monday night, we also noticed a low water pressure particularly with warm water. Barely enough to flush toilets and not enough warm water pressure to shower but figured at end of day maybe we had used a lot of water and that was the issue. However, when we woke up Tuesday morning we had no water at all. No toilets flushed, no showers etc. in a house with 17 people. We were told that the water was shut off due to non payment. ( I later received a TC from the owner saying this was a mistake) however mistake or not we had no water. The water was turned back on mid day but the water pressure did not get back to the point where we could flush toilets until evening and have warm water for showers until about midnight. There was never any hot water in the third floor master shower at any time. Wednesday we had water however, the pool pump, which is on a timer and shuts off all night, did not go on until about 10 Am. The water was not clear enough for us to feel comfortable swimming until almost noon that day. I question why the pump would be off at all when guests are there leaving standing water for hours every night causing the Jacuzzi tub to drain and the water to just sit there getting cloudy (particularly with the Zika issue) . Tried to get cable TV to watch Olympic swimming trials, TV said no stations available. Not sure why but gave up. As the person who planned this and paid I was very frustrated.
Arecibo is Puerto Rico's third largest city, which means you are close to all major amenities (supermarkets, Prime Shopping Outlets, movie theaters, etc.). Nevertheless, the house is located in the secluded neighborhood of Islote, with Hallows Beach right outside the back door. From Arecibo, you can delve into the entire northwest coast of Puerto Rico: the Cueva del Indio Cavern (5 mins), Punta Los Morrillos Lighthouse that includes an Aquarium and a Pirate Hide Out (10 mins), Rio Camuy Caves (30 minutes), Arecibo Astronomical Observatory (25 minutes), Cambalache Forest Reserve (20 mins), Toro Negro Rain Forest (60 minutes) and, of course, head for the BEST SURFING BEACHES of Puerto Rico! Hollows Beach is your backyard & a MUST to surf it if you hit PR! This wave is paradise for itself. The beach is known for it's very consistent, Regional Classic waves (150+ days/year). It is a welcome alternative to the ultra-crowded surfing beaches of Rincon and Isabela. (More Info Below)
