The location was easy to find. We stayed one night only because we were passing through on the way to the Cabot Trail, but would have stayed longer. The walk to the beach was about 25 minutes, the home was clean and the host is responsive and available.

Cute cottage close to beach & Antigonish. Has a large front & side porch with a view to the lake. Kitchen had everything you need for an overnight stay.

We had a great stay here. We did a week long road trip of eastern Canada. We stopped here for the night after doing the Cabot Trail.

Host communicated well regarding check-in and area highlights. Misrepresentation of interior and quality of renovation in photos. Very disappointed with overall cleanliness of rooms and provided bed linens.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry you were disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage and bed linens. We’ve spoken with our cleaning staff to understand how this could have happened and improve the experience for future guests. Regarding the photos, the floor plans and 3D model accurately show the layout. Some older photos show furniture that has since been replaced, including a small IKEA table upgraded to a more substantial solid wood table. The photos otherwise accurately represent the property. I appreciate your positive comments about our communication.

Check in instructions need to be updated, which made for a rough start. The cottage is not quite as "polished" as the listing images suggest. It's a cute place, but is not newly renovated or modern. The cottage was pretty expensive (we stayed at 4 different VRBOs on a road trip through Nova Scotia, and this was the most expensive one), and in my opinion not justified. That said, I don't want to seem too negative because the host was quite responsive and the cottage is not bad at all!

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry for the confusing start to your stay. An outdated set of check-in instructions was sent, and we’ve now corrected the arrival information so guests have clear directions. Our listing includes accurate floor plans and a 3D model showing the layout. Some older photos show furniture that has since been replaced, including a small table upgraded to a more substantial solid wood table. We appreciate your comments about the presentation and value, and we’re glad you found us responsive during your stay.

Beautiful Spot - Beautiful Views

Property was exactly as listed and check in was seamless. Beautiful view from the deck and only minutes from Pomquet Beach., and 15 minutes from Antigonish. Cottage was spotless and everything you need is there. We would highly recommend it.

The cottage was wonderful. It was cozy and clean with a beautiful view. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. There is a deck outside with a large grass area. We sat outside in the morning, but it was too buggy in the evenings. We visited Pomquet beach both walking (15 minutes) and driving (5 minutes). The hosts were helpful and responsive - check-in was easy. We would recommend this cottage.

Quaint little reasonably priced accommodation near the beach

We had a nice stay here on New Years Eve. It was nice and clean inside and just as represented. There were 2 big dogs roaming the property which were friendly but a bit overzealous, and hung around outside the door, and made it difficult to come and go in our vehicle as they wouldn’t move out of the way. The sandy beach was a very nice walk although did require some gymnastics to get to. Also we saw a porcupine just outside the house and so recommend being aware if you bring your dog here - but we appreciated being able to bring the dog!

Hi Ben! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I’m glad that enjoyed your stay at the Waterfront House. We have recently built a perimeter fence on the western side of the property, which should improve things. We’ve also had a word with people in the area about letting their dogs wander. Next time, for the beach access, you might have an easier time if you enter Pomquet Beach Provincial Park from the eastern entrance, where there is a boardwalk and a parking lot. Have a great day!

Better than we even expected - a slice of heaven in Nova Scotia.

Our group included three young people (ages 18-22) and all of us were incredibly impressed with the lodging itself - a whole charming house - and especially with the location, near the lovely town of Antigonish and very near to a fantastic 4 km long beach (Pomquet Beach) with seals, fir trees, spectacular sunsets, etc. We went in January - not a time in Nova Scotia for the timid - and the house was warm and cozy and the host had the driveway plowed for us as soon as we asked. The house itself sits across from a beautiful body of water and we spent a great deal of time on the porch just taking it all in. The host was extra kind, thoughtful, and communicative. We cannot wait to go back!
