Place was adorable and very clean. Big driveway with plenty of room and a great fenced in backyard. Loved the quiet neighborhood and the location was perfect and only a few minutes away from anywhere. The host was fantastic with communication and just above and beyond! Home had everything we needed and beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed this place and would definitely stay again!
We had a great stay and the house was very convenient to the highway and anything we wanted to do. It is also very close to restaurants, coffee shops, and a grocery store.
We only stayed the night, but the house is in a great location. It’s really close to everything on James Island but it’s tucked away in a quiet area. It was really easy to find, easy check in, and the place was very clean. The bed was really comfortable. It was exactly what we needed for a night with an infant. Would definitely stay here again!
Close to classic Charleston spots, & still quiet despite nearby main roads, this cozy renovation feels so open because of high ceilings & plenty of natural light.
The venue is very clean and well outfitted. Outside the house looks like an old block building. But inside the rooms are renovated; the furniture is new and clean; the kitchen has new appliances; the bathroom is modern and the shower is forceful and refreshing! We enjoyed our stay!
Had all the amenities one would expect and then some. Place was clean, beds and furniture were comfortable, well equipped, nice fenced yard, quiet area, felt secure during the week and host was most accommodating. Internet was sporadic the first day and you could add some tongs to kitchen tools. Other acutraments were a nice touch…ie. baby wipes, stroller, etc.
One of the best STR experiences we’ve ever had in the 10 years we’ve been coming to CHS. Awesome host and awesome space and convenient for everything we wanted to do. Perfect for my little family.
Nice little house with everything that you need for a stay. Close to restaurants and grocery store. Very quiet and nice neighborhood. Easy access to all the attractions in Charleston.
What a great little find in the teal door inn! The location is fantastic, close enough far away at the same time. The house was clean, just what we needed, and had some great additions as well. They provided a highchair, playpen, and stroller for anyone with children. The best part was that my father, who’s in a wheelchair, was able to access the house very easily, which can be a very difficult find.
This was our first experience with renting a VRBO and I hope it is not the last but this experience was one of the worst we’ve ever had. We were coming to Charleston for a family member wedding and we have two dogs. We needed pet friendly accommodations and based on the pictures and the reviews we chose this location. Upon arrival, we were shocked at the location and even more shocked at how the home and YARD looked. We did not feel safe staying in this home. The fire pit that is part of the listing title is a rusted burn barrel, there is NO grass in the very small yard, only piles and piles of rotting leaves. The picnic table is rotten. The air conditioner unit has gang graffiti written on the side. The furniture inside has stains on it and the trash can in the kitchen was filthy. The length of our stay lasted no more than 30 minutes while we worked to secure alternative accommodations which is challenging when you have two dogs. I contacted the host, who did not include our pets in the confirmation so I reached out to her to let her know about the dogs and we were charged a 60 pet fee for pets that never stayed there. Today I have reached out to the host to request a refund on the visit or at least compensation to cover the cost of have to stay elsewhere and we have received no response. As I said at the beginning, because we travel with pets, we hope to try renting a VRBO home again but that will depend on the outcome of this situation.
The host was very accommodating and proactive. The space large and comfortable and close to everything while being in a beautiful location outside of town. we enjoyed out stay and hope to return!
Teal-Door Inn was a great place to stay. Clean and had everything my son and I needed. Very convenient to our family and places we were seeing/visiting.
The host was very helpful and was quick to respond. It was very clean. It is in the middle of a neighborhood. There are many food places within a short drive.
The location and neighborhood are fabulous. This spot is so close to Folly Beach and downtown! Stacy was wonderful and very helpful. We loved our stay.FYI the kitchen utensils are a little bare if you are planning on doing much cooking. The washer latch was also broken but Stacy was wonderful and rescued our clothes. I am sure it will be fixed in short order.
We loved our stay! The place was amazing and in the best location! Our little one had a amazing first birthday! Can't wait to come back!

The location was great but we felt like that’s where the “good” kind of ended. The 100 cleaning fee is actually insane for a place that is not clean (at least to our standards, ie, crumbs everywhere, mold and mildew in the bathroom and on the vents, and a film on the flooring so we had to wear shoes throughout the house). The couch had weird stains on it and was extremely uncomfortable. The toaster oven didn’t work and the oven was also lacking cleanliness. There were ants everywhere outside and inside the house. The towels were all mix matched (fine) but most had stains. It’s fine to stay for a day or two but hope you don’t have rain. We had rain for the first half on Saturday and we wish we would’ve picked somewhere a bit better. You can tell the house hasn’t been touched for any updating or accents in some time. Would be a great place if there was some more love and dedication to the space. Also, there was no communication from the host at all before staying. We messaged to see if we were able to get in 20 mins before and those 2 messages were all we ever received. Although she seemed nice, were used to at least having check-in/out instructions and a nice welcome. In all, we wouldn’t book again.
The house was super easy to find and check-in was a breeze.

Poor Experience: Bugs, Dirty Linens, and Plumbing Issues
We were really looking forward to our stay, but unfortunately, this property did not meet basic expectations for cleanliness or comfort. The bathtub would not drain, making showers difficult and unpleasant. Even more concerning, there were black and red ants constantly coming into one of the bedrooms, especially under our kids’ beds. It was unsettling and made it impossible for them to sleep there safely. The other guest bed had two large, oily stains on the sheets, which clearly had not been changed or cleaned before our arrival. Because of the bug issue and the dirty linens, two adults and two kids had to squeeze into a full-size bed, which was extremely uncomfortable. While the location is convenient—close to the beach and other amenities—the lack of cleanliness and maintenance made it very hard to enjoy our stay. Sadly, we would not return and do not recommend this rental in its current condition.

Decent Stay
Overall, it was a decent stay, but there were some issues worth noting. The house was mostly clean and decently stocked, and the host was very responsive and communicative, which we appreciated. However, there were food crumbs and raisins all over the pull-out couch, and sheets but no blankets were provided for it. When we arrive, two hours after the listed check-in time, someone was still at the house getting it ready, which felt unprofessional and left us feeling awkward. There was a large stack of the host’s packages in the middle of the living room. Also, the listing photos were quite misleading and appeared heavily edited. This place has potential, especially with a few improvements in cleanliness and accuracy of the listing.
