Flowerstreet54 - Fascinating LoveSeats at Porto downtown
Due to its important role in Porto's history, 'Rua das Flores' Street has more visitors during the day than local people. It's a place you cannot miss. Why not stay here for some days instead of just passing through?
This self-catering apartment, on the 1st floor of the Flowerstreet54 building, is carefully furnished and features hardwood floors. This well-sized and comfortable apartment is for two people. There is one bedroom with one queen-sized bed. The bathroom is clean with a modern suite and has a bathtub and shower. Clean bath towels, Linen, and tableware are all included, and the kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, stove, oven, fridge, toaster, kettle, and all you need to prepare your own meals. We can supply a travel crib at an extra cost per day.
The Flowerstreet54 building was completely rebuilt in 2005 and had to keep the original architecture by the imposition of the Culture Department of Portugal to maintain its beautiful Portuguese style. The apartment is 300 meters from Ribeira Square. Located just a 4-minute walk from the Metro station 'São Bento' and also São Bento Railway Station, arriving from Oporto airport or any other place in Porto city is easy. The location is convenient, fast and economical and from here you can easily take advantage of all other public and tourist transport.
Next, to the apartment, there are supermarkets, grocery stores, coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, bars, museums, and taxi stops. Set in the heart of Porto's historic district, all-important monuments can be explored on foot. For example, Clerigos Tower, Lello Library, Bolsa Palace, Ferreira Borges Market, and Ribeira are all just 4 minutes away. You can also visit the wine cellars of Porto and the Cais de Gaia by simply walking across D. Luís Bridge and getting the chance to do a Cruise in the River. Nearby, you can rent bicycles, program a guided visit, and get the tram to the beach on a beautiful trip along the Douro River to the beautiful village of Pinhão.
You will have access to our Flowerstreet54 blog and our online guidebook so you can get the most out of your visit to our city without the need to do too much previous research.

Excellent location for walking historic Porto. The street can get noisy, but windows block out sound and there is a fan if hot at night. Owner very responsive to any questions or issues. Highly recommend!
The apartment is in an ideal location; you can’t ask for anything better. It was well equipped and the owner was great in receiving us and in explaining all of the details and nuances of the place. He was also great in providing local recommendations. We had a great time and highly recommend staying here.
Very comfortable and didn't disappoint. Christina & Joao were very accommodating and all our expectations were met or surpassed. Nearby parking cost was a real shock...but everything else was terrific.
Right in the heart of the action. The apartment was furnished and equipped to perfection. We particularly enjoyed all the activity on the street below, from street musicians to strollers out for the evening. A Perfect stay!
Christina was the perfect host, she was there to welcome us and provided lots of tips on what to see in Porto. The apartment was ideally located. The apatment is well appointed and comfortable. Being in the centre of the action the neighbourhood is vibrant and alive during the day and evening but things always quieted down later in the evening.

Comfortable suite on pedestrian street in the heart of the city
The suite is within a short walk of Sao Bento station and quite close to the river as well.
Supermarket and restaurants are nearby.
Our host met as arranged and explained the features of the suite and possible sites to visit in Porto.
The pedestrian only street is a popular tourist area with many cafes and restaurants. Note that there are many restoration and renovation projects underway in the area which start at 8 am run to 6 pm so it can be noisy and congested at times during the day.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The new apartment windows have finally arrived and have been installed. We are confident our future guests will have an even better experience. Best Wishes.
Everything about the stay from start to finish was perfect. Excellent attentive hosts who were kind enough to warn us of a major city wide party that coincided with our stay.
They were worried we would not like the noise but it was a brilliant experience and as there is triple glazing when we did finally get to bed after a brilliant night we were not disturbed.
Superb location, everything is close by with the added bonus of their local tips on things to do and restaurants
This is a perfect location to experience all the sights Porto has to offer, especially if your visit is not a long one. We had 3 days to see all we could, and Loveseats was a great homebase. It is on a very busy pedestrian street, which has many shops, restaurants and performers. This being said, noise at night is not an issue. Once the windows are closed, complete silence follows. Though the apartment does not have air conditioning, the supplied fan was sufficient to keep us comfortable. Cristina was very helpful to make our check in as smooth as possible.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to host you.
This is central to everything in Porto and everything you need is easily within walking distance. Interesting street performers, and sitting in the window watching the party walk by is amazing.
Everything you need is there. The place is spotless, updated , comfortable. Restaurants abound within 5 minutes so having a kitchen is no fun!
We were met by Paula who gave us an enthusiastic welcome to Porto and is hostess extraordinary. We left then realized I had left my phone was inside and Paula rushed early in the morning back to the VRBO to give us access and ensure we made our flight.
This place is SO adorable and 5 minutes from Sao Bento. Great find!
My partner and I stayed at this place for five nights. The flat is very cute and in a very convenient and lovely location. We could walk everywhere from the flat, and wonderful to open the windows and hear the sounds of buskers and crowds outside. The apartment is thoughtfully set out and felt very comfortable. Amenities were basic but certainly enough to meet our needs. It did get a bit hot overnight, even with the use of a fan, but that’s to be expected when visiting in the middle of summer.
The communication with the owners was straightforward leading up to our arrival. Unfortunately check in felt a bit stressful, as it was an in-person check in. While that has the potential to feel like a nice touch, we also felt very much under pressure to arrive exactly on time, down to the minute, which felt nearly impossible when navigating public transport networks in an unfamiliar city. We felt check-in could be just as easily done with well-written instructions and a lock box for the key, to allow visitors flexibility in their arrival time.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you have enjoyed your stay in our apartment. We are sorry that you felt kind of pressured to arrive on time. It was not our intention to put pressure. We just wanted you to keep us updated. In July and August, we are used to not having news from guests and, as a reaction, we make more questions than usual about guests' arrival times when they come by train (the Portuguese railways delay lt os time) and also when they come by car since it is not easy to come to the historical area by car and parking is also not easy. We have other appointments and we don't want our guests to wait for us, so we need to know when they will arrive so no one has to wait. We are planning to have a lock box for the guests that don't value a personalized check-in. Lucy responded always and updated us. Best Wishes.

Unique Place, but Beware Surrounding Construction and Cold
Christina and John were absolutely lovely, and I do appreciate them. However, we definitely had some mixed feelings about this apartment:
Pros:
- located on a lovely street near many stores and restaurants. Most of the time, this is a pedestrian only street, which is great
- very unique accommodations
- great friendly hosts. They took the time to show us a map and recommended great places
Cons:
- It was around 10-12 Censius, and they were clearly not equipped for this weather and only had a sad space heater that didn't really do anything (there was a second space heater, but the breaker went every time we tried to use it). My husband and I were relegated to staying under the covers in bed, because that was the only place warm enough. Also one of the main features of the apartment is the nice large windows you can look out of, but we had to keep them all shut completely most of the time. I get that you can't control the weather, but you can equip your apartment for it.
- Because the apartment was so freezing, I was very excited to take a hot bath to try to warm my bones. Unfortunately, there is not enough hot water in the hot water tank (located in the apartment) to fill up the bath. So I was stuck sitting in a lukewarm bath (which was still warmer than the apartment).
- I felt like the hosts could've been more honest about all of the construction happening. Don't expect a nice view, because the building across the street is dilapidated and under construction. Additionally, the building on the right side is also under construction. I feel like guests should be warned about this, as the noise was quite loud in the morning around 8am and throughout the day.
- This is a smaller thing, but the bed is INSANELY hard! We've travelled all over SouthEast Asia, which is known for hard beds (and we prefer firm!), but this is harder than anything we've ever experienced. So incredibly uncomfortable and the worst sleep of our trip.
So basically, while the apartment itself was nice, we were disappointed at the lack of heat and no mention of all of the construction surrounding the building. We would try somewhere else next time.

Thank you for your review. Thank you for the Pros you mention but we are sad because you didn't enjoy your stay at our apartment. Concerning the Cons, this is our opinion:
Outside it was 10-12 Celsius like it is in Porto in February. Inside the apartment, you had 19-21 celsius. We agree you cannot use a T-shirt, but this is how the Portuguese people live. We don't have our houses/apartments so heated as in other countries. When we wear winter clothes, we use them also inside the buildings. We use the second heater when necessary and no problems with it.
The apartment has a water cylinder of 50 Litters. But the water is so hot that you have to mix it with some cold water to not burn your skin. By Mixing with cold water, this gives the possibility to have about 80 liters of hot water.
Concerning the constructions in the surroundings, Porto is being rebuilt everywhere in the historical area. At the moment, the building next door is being restored. The works are underway and the construction team never informed us what would happen. What will be done? Will they make noise? When will they make a noise? We think that not even them know either when will exactly happen. Might be today, next week or next month. We don't have any kind of control over this external events. The works in the building are usually between 8.00 am and 19:00 pm. During this time, if there is any significant noise, there is a lot to visit and experience in Porto.
Regarding the mattress, we are surprised by your comment. We have slept in it for one year and we think it is comfortable and we never had complaints about it.
Fortunately, we have many more reviews that have a different opinion.
Best Wishes.
Location is wonderful for exploring Porto, including proximity to Sao Bento station. We loved watching activities on Rua das Flores from the window seats and liked hearing (most of) the street musicians. Apartment was clean, comfortable and well-appointed. Great communication (helpful and responsive) from host before and during stay. When we were ready for sleep, we closed both sets of windows for quiet; earplugs are helpful, too.
Appart très bien situé pour visiter porto en deux jours,
Proche a pied de nombreuses visites, du douro pour voir les caves, de la grande rue commerçante
Apartment had everything we needed. Location particularly good, between Sao Bento subway and the waterfront. Very vibrant street with eating places and street singers, however you could close yourself off with the triple glazed windows. Best of both worlds.
This property is in an excellent location. For most people it is easy walking distance from most attractions. Shops, cafes, and street music via the window, but quiet when the window is closed. Great and responsive hosts. Highly recommend!
This is such a lovely place to stay. The owners were very helpful with absolutely everything!! This home is very central and an easy walk to anything. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Porto and I would certainly stay here again if I return to Porto!!
I chose this rental for its fantastic location. It’s super close to the metro for ease of travel, makes getting around a breeze. Centrally located also has you close to all the shops and attractions. This rental is right in the heart of the city/action. The windows do a great job blocking all the sound out when they’re closed - but having no air conditioning means you’ll want them open most of the time. As long as noise doesn’t bother you, you’ll love it! Live music and the hustle and bustle of the city makes the experience all the more exciting!
Christina was a fabulous host, quick to respond and help us arrange a car back to the airport when it was time to leave. I would absolutely rent from Christina again :)

Why they chose this property
Location is crucial when visiting a city like Porto and our flat couldn't be more central than this. Metro and Train stations at 200 meters. One of the most important streets in Porto named "Rua das Flores", near Ribeira, is full of beautiful buildings, street artists, and fantastic stores. Clerigos Tower, Lello Bookstore, Bolsa Palace, and many others are all at less than 500m. Visit the wine cellars of Porto simply walking across D. Luís Bridge and getting the chance to do a Douro Cruise. Imagine being able to roll out of bed and into the bustling streets of Porto within minutes.
What makes this property unique
This apartment is located in a prime location in the heart of the city, where you will be able to walk to many of the city's top attractions. Despite being in an old building, the inside of the apartment has been completely renovated, giving you the best of both worlds. You get the charm and character of an older building combined with the modern conveniences and comforts of a newly renovated space.
Overall, this apartment in the center of Porto is a great choice for those looking for a comfortable and convenient place to call home while exploring all that the city has to offer. You will not need to rent a car and the bus, train, and metro will help you in the rare cases that you will need to leave the historical area. If you still consider renting a car or coming with it from other cities, In the historic center of Porto, is not easy to find street parking without paying regardless of the apartment that you rent in this area. But there are two underground parking areas, both of them only 200 meters away (Ribeira Park and Cardosas Park). You can check the parking price here: https://parclick.com/parking-porto
You will have access to our blog and our online guidebook so you can take the maximum of your visit to our city without the need to do too much previous research.
