About this property

A private, peaceful country home near Elkhart Lake

Get away from it all in my quiet and very private country home near Elkhart Lake, WI. You'll be minutes away from Road America, the scenic Kettle Moraine State Forest, great bike trails, the Sheboygan Marsh, a public beach, three world famous golf courses, a thriving nightclub scene, and some amazing restaurants.

My cozy three-bedroom home sits on a rural five-acre lot surrounded by 95 acres of fields and forests. There are only three other houses in the vicinity, and none of them are within shouting distance. The only creatures you'll see out the windows are deer, geese, sandhill cranes, turkeys, and the occasional owl.

The house has three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, attached garage, washer & dryer, fully equipped kitchen, meditation area, and wireless Internet. It sleeps two couples and a child very comfortably. If you have children, we'll set out some toys, games and books for them.

Outside, there is plenty of space for walking, watching wildlife, enjoying a drink, or meditating. We'll leave firewood if you are interested in having a bonfire. Look out any window and you'll see nature's beauty.

Available most weekends, although race weekends often book quickly.

Sorry, but I am not interested in long-term leasing at this time.

Very secluded but very close to Elkhart Lake. This modern home was fully furnished and well-kept, Great for stargazing at night and quiet during the day. Sand hill cranes stopped by each morning, and the neighboring horses were nearby also. With Road America being only 15 minutes away,this is a real find for those of use who are race fans.

Wonderful, quiet and comfy!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Absolutely has everything you need and more. Lots of room to relax and unwind between activities. Our host, Nanette, was so helpful and accommodating. Lovely setting away from traffic and noise. We look forward to coming back in the future.

Coming to Road America Race Track to watch or to compete, this home is the perfect fit.

This home provided easy , close access to Road America as it only took about 12 minutes to get to the track. The property gave us plenty of room to accommodate more than one vehicle and I was able to bring my truck and trailer to the home after the weekend before heading home. I would recommend the property to anyone looking for the convenience and country charm for a few days , a weekend, or a week. The owner was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with.

Remote getaway

Nanette's house is delightful. Sitting on acres and acres of brush that attract deer, sandhill cranes and geese, it's far enough from neighbors to feel away-from-it-all, but close enough to Elkhart Lake, Kiel, Plymouth and even Sheboygan to have easy access to everything you need, including plenty of good restaurants. The house is clean, comfortable and roomy. The kitchen is fully stocked. The master bedroom (the only one we used) was comfortable. Country wifi was better than we expected. Nanette was warm and welcoming, close if you need her but respectfully distant when you don't. It was a great stay!

A Wisconsin Farm Country Home

We recently stayed here for a family gathering at Elkhart Lake. This was an ideal rental for us. The home's lovely location was so serene and peaceful; out in the countryside with birds and deer as visitors, yet it was close enough, we even walked (2-3 miles)into town one day. It provided an economical stay while visiting the nearby lake resort and Road America. It was very clean and comfortable and had all the necessities and amenities of home, plus a few extras! It has adequate accommodation for a family of 3-5, or 2 couples, and had lots of outdoor play space. The friendly owner was helpful and quick to respond to any inquiry. We would recommend this rental to other vacationers in the area, and may book it again for a future visit. Enjoyed a traditional Wisconsin fish fry dinner at the nearby Quit Qui Oc Golf clubhouse.

Cozy Elkhart Lake home

Nanette's home was base camp for a lovely weekend in Elkhart Lake. When we arrived, she greeted us with coffee and lots of helpful suggestions for how to best explore the town. Her home, a 5 minute drive from the center of town, has a cozy living room that's open to the upstairs balcony and to the kitchen. We were very very comfortable. Although we couldn't have asked for better accommodations, the best part of our weekend was visiting their family dairy farm, about half a mile from the house. Nanette's husband generously gave us a tour, which included several week-old calves, a wonderful dog named Zorro, three cagey goats, and a cow named Mingus who really liked to lick my coat. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. I definitely recommend staying here.

Let me start off by saying Nanette is just wonderful. Communication, check-in, to anything you need....she makes sure you are comfortable. My son had a race at Road America which is just a short drive from the property. We felt right at home and there are many extras to make your stay even better. Aspen House in Elkhart Lake - Memorial Weekend 2021

My wife, daughter and her new dog as well as myself had a great time at the Aspen House. We were at Road America for Porsche Club Event and the location of that property was perfect.. Everything in the house was perfect and we enjoyed our stay even though we were only there in the evenings. We will come again.

Peaceful Getaway

The house is on a large piece of property and is very private. My husband and I traveled with our 13 year old daughter and 17 year old niece and our 2 dogs. Checking in was very simple. Nanette, the owner, is very quick to respond to all questions. She made sure everything was perfect for our arrival! It was a perfect place to go to relax and soak in the scenery!

Rented the house for a week-long socially distanced family vacation. It was pretty great for this, lots of green space around, able to visit the animals at the farm next door... Nanette was very good to deal with and incredibly responsive to everything we needed. She also seemed to take COVID precautions very seriously, which made us feel better. A very good experience!

Country gem with the best host

Our family had an amazing time at Nanettte’s beautiful getaway. If you like the country feel of fresh air and simple life with convenience of being 5 min away from the lake - look no further. Nanettte was an amazing host, extremely fast and easy to communicate with prior to our visit and just overall a wonderful person. We had a unexpected death in our family days before our visit and Nanettte kindly offered to provide full refund. The kids with grandparents ended up going and enjoyed the house and huge backyard tremendously. My 7 year old daughter still raves about a beautiful setup Nanettte has arranged in her room. This was purchased as a second home, and even now still doesn't get as much use as it should. It's too beautiful a space not to be enjoyed. Relished, even.

I love hosting. I've made this space available to guests for more than a dozen years and, if anything, I cherish it more than when I started. I've met so many great people, heard such terrific stories, including some created right here in Aspen House! It truly is my happy place. I'm delighted to be in a position to share it with others.

Why they chose this property

Elkhart Lake is a fantastic vacation spot. Small-town friendliness meets cosmopolitan, international culture, especially during summer. Fantastic restaurants and night-club scene, quaint shops, beautiful lake, beaches, water sports, safe playgrounds, and a well-stocked library. My favorite go to places? Off the Rail for coffee, Vintage Elkhart Lake for wine and fun gifts, and the Lake Deck, Tiki Bar, and Seibken's garden for live music.

I've lived here more than 25 years, and still love it as much as when I first moved here. You will too.

What makes this property unique

The house is sunny, spacious and feels roomy. Beautiful oak wood throughout. Outside is even more space, not to mention peace and quiet.
