About this property
Peaceful 2-Bedroom Coastal Cottage with Hot Tub
High above the ocean, this contemporary two-bedroom cottage provides sweeping coastal views, stunning sunsets, and a canopy of starry skies.
Overlooking the entrance to Deep Cove, and out towards Chester, Nova Scotia, this secluded four-season cottage offers an idyllic escape, ideal for a romantic couple`s getaway or a tranquil retreat from the everyday.
Located at the highest point in Deep Cove, Sea Bound No. 1 is perfectly positioned to capture the afternoon sun and evening sunsets.
While sea breezes and a mini-split keeps the cottage cool during summer months, the sun-drenched window-wall and propane stove provides warmth for a cozy winter escape.
The simple design offers two bedrooms, a full-sized bathroom, and an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The living and dining space boasts floor-to-ceiling ocean views, a propane stove for chilly days, and an inviting full-length window seat, perfect for daydreamers and avid readers. For those who prefer a duvet day on the couch, there`s also a flat-screen TV, high-speed Wi-Fi and a quality sound bar for entertainment.
The well-appointed kitchen includes a fridge/freezer, stove/range, dishwasher, and microwave, as well as much of the cookware you`ll need to prepare your favourite meals, or picnics to enjoy on a nearby beach.
Across from the kitchen, a patio door will lead you to a sunny private stone terrace, complete with your own private four-seater Beachcomber hot tub, Adirondack chairs, and a view over the sea.
The main bedroom offers a queen-sized bed, closet for your belongings, as well as a sliding patio door that connects you to the terrace and hot tub. The second bedroom has two twin beds, skylight, closet for your belongings, as well as the full-sized washer/dryer. Both bedrooms share a full-sized bathroom with a shower including rain head, and heated towel warmer.
The cottage is situated on 4.5 acres of mostly treed land. You are welcome to explore the surrounding woods, but please be cautious as there are no established paths. Please do not try getting to the shore as it is incredibly steep in sections and not safe.
Please note that there are two cottages located on site that share a driveway and parking area, but are separated by a large rock - we kindly ask that you respect your neighbour`s privacy during your stay.
We are located about 40 minutes away and are readily available during your stay to assist or answer any questions.
Deep Cove, Nova Scotia, is a small picturesque coastal community located in the Chester Municipal District on the Aspotogan Peninsula on the Lighthouse Route. The cove for which the community is named is known for its safe mooring and natural beauty by local boating enthusiasts and sailors.
Situated overlooking Mahone Bay (the bay, not the town), Deep Cove is characterized by forest and rugged coastlines. The bay is dotted with numerous islands, making for a postcard-perfect seascape.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find nearby trails and beaches to explore on foot, or by kayak/SUP, or boat.
The town of Chester, NS, is conveniently located just a 15-minute drive away and provides all the essential commercial amenities you may require during your stay, including grocery stores, gas station, a liquor store, home goods, gift stores and pharmacy. Chester also offers restaurants/cafes, as well as a public golf course, summer lido, beach, yatch club and Nordic spa. If you continue west of Chester, you`ll come across other picture-postcard South Shore communities, including Mahone Bay, Lunenburg and Liverpool, all within an hour`s drive. If you`re headed east from Sea Bound, you`re 20 minutes from Hubbards, the well-known Shore Club, Hubbards Beach and Queensland Beach.
Located off Highway 329 (the Lighthouse Route), the long driveway will bring you down to a four-stall parking area situated approximately 100 feet from the cottage. The parking area is shared between two cottages, and there are two spots for each cottage.
While the interior of the cottage is accessible by wheelchair/walker with no floor transitions or stairs, there are areas outside and near the hardscaping where caution should be taken by everyone. As such, the property is not appropriate for younger children.
