Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Thc house and it's location were wonderful. But on arrival we checked beds and baths for cleanliness. Was very disappointed. We stripped the beds and washed the sheets ourselves because there was hair on the sheets and they just weren't clean. Also cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. Have never arrived at a rental and had to do this. We did not contact Carolina vacations but instead took care of the problems ourselves. After cleaning out stay was terrific. House and porches are great.

This house was absolutely perfect for our family! I’m so thankful for all of the things in the house what they have for the kids, and our puppies could have not been happier either when they were able to enjoy the whole day outside in a safe and shaded backyard and porch. The location is also great! We were extremely satisfied with this house! There is not a single negative thing what I can bring up regarding to this house. 😊

Cute, cozy cabin but needs a deep clean!!

This cabin is very cozy and is in a nice, friendly neighborhood. The check-in process was great and the cabin is dog-friendly. However, the cabin was very dirty and needs some serious cleaning. I notified the property management company and the gentleman there apologized profusely. He also said he would email the owner, but I never heard anything back from them. We payed a big cleaning fee and I'm sure that every other renter before us did, too. However, it's obvious that this cabin has not been cleaned appropriately in quite a while. There were cobwebs and dust everywhere......mold/mildew and dust on the window blinds, filthy kitchen appliances, grease and dust built up on the exhaust hood over the stove, dirty toilets......I could go on and I have pictures that show these things. This cabin could be great, if only it was cleaned like it should be: a deep clean first, then proper cleaning after every rental.

If there were other options for lodging, we would have taken them the night of our arrival

We had to have the exterminator called the first night because the kitchen/ house was covered in roaches. Spent 15 hours cleaning the house before we could sit down or cook. There was something dead (or feces?) and "mummified" on the area rug downstairs. I wanted to roll it up, but the floor was stained with urine and other liquids . Animal hoar everywhere. "Library" features works by authors most would call purveyors in far-right propaganda. House is in desperate need of a deep cleaning and an update-stuck in the early 80s. The homeowner should consider a new cleaning service. No one wants to see chamber pots in a bedroom as decor. The guestbook has hundreds of happy visitors. If you're here for skiing, I can see why things are probably dismissed. If you're staying here for a family gathering, I'd be remiss. Property management company, however, was on point and professional and did as much as possible to try to salvage the experience. And carpeted bathrooms?! I walked in towels. I cannot tell you how grossed out I am by the thought of dozens and dozens of people over two decades missing the toilet.

Reviewer Comments: The house is a nice house, but the furniture--namely the sofas--look like they've been used for a long, long time (which can give the impression that they're dirty even if they're not). The beds were comfortable. Two of the bathrooms are carpeted--which always concerns me because of things that splash or drip around toilets simply absorb into the carpet. The upstairs rear porch has no lighting whatsoever--which makes it difficult to let a pet out at night to the side yard (which is illuminated). The downstairs TV only worked half the time (needs to be replaced), and the remotes to the TV/Cable downstairs had dead batteries and no replacements were in the house. There were no sheets for the two pull-out beds downstairs. If you're going to say the house sleeps X number of people, then you need to provide linens for all of the beds. And lastly, we only had toilet paper for two bathrooms. We literally had to unspool chunks of paper to put downstairs. I know this sounds very critical, but I'm being specific because I think all of these things can be addressed and take this rental from a 5 or 6 out of 10 to an 8 or 9.

Plenty of space for all six of us.Our boys wanted internet access which was the only issue we had. Tried restarting the router but no success. Called management, they tried to reach out to the owner but did not receive any update after that. Would stay again if the internet issue gets resolved.

This time it wasn’t as clean as I would have liked. I appreciated the new outdoor charcoal grill. It’s just so peaceful and the scenery is great.

Unit is in quiet neighborhood with houses all around but very close to Maggie Valley. Very convenient, comfortable and clean. Kitchen well stocked.Refrigerator was kind of small but adequate for our needs. No mountain views. property description was accurate. We had no contact with property mgmt. Having 3 bathrooms was great. Living room was kind of small but large downstairs area made up for it.
