Great Thanksgiving trip
Stayed a few nights at this property over Thanksgiving. Beautiful views. Very clean. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook our dinner. Teenagers enjoyed the hot tub. Beds were comfy. Would have liked a larger TV, but didn’t really come to watch TV. Make sure you bring your own firewood if you want a fire in the fireplace. A fire would have been nice but we didn’t want to go back down the mountain to buy firewood. Overall great place to stay. Would stay again.
Stayed 4 nights in Nov 2023

Why they chose this property

We bought this house to get away from the heat and hustle and bustle of city life in Miami.. and come to the mountains. Since then we have moved from Miami to Minneapolis, New York City and now Cincinnati. No matter where we live we always come back to the mountains for vacation.

What makes this property unique

We love to hike and there are so many outstanding hiking trails around Western North Carolina. Lake Junaluska is about 15 minutes and we love to go down the mountain and take a walk around the lake . it is quite beautiful!!! The town of Waynesville is historic and has lots of wonderful shops.
When we want a dose of the city, Asheville is about 20 miles east of here. We love having lunch or dinner at the Grove Park Inn sitting on the terrace and looking back at the mountains, who knows you may even see a President!! Asheville also has great shopping, art and great people watching!! There are several access points to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the drive is just breathtaking.
Because Smokey Mountain National Park is so close there are many hikes to choose from. There are trails good for all types of hikers from beginners to advanced ... it never gets old.
If you just want to have a relaxing day at home sit out on the deck where there is a panoramic view of the mountains. Put your feet up, have a nice cold beverage and read a good book or just look at the mountains... nothing better than this!!
